    Zhenjiang is the only confluence hub of the Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It was called Jingkou, Runzhou, Yiyi, Zhufang, Dantu and South Xuzhou in ancient times.  During the Tianbao period of Tang Dynasty, Zhenjiang was designated as Danyang County, and Qu'a was designated as Danyang County.

    In the Yuan Dynasty, people still used to refer to Zhenjiang Road as Danyang.

    Danyang Guoli sees off the boat,

    ? Don't know the autumn in the two places;

    Day and night, looking south to the north of the river,

    Jackdaws fly all over the water.

    In the evening, Ji Xu sent Zhang Jin, master and servant, to Danyang Wharf.

    Passengers lined up in two long lines and boarded the ship one after another.  But Zhang Jin pulled Ji Xu to a gazebo on the shore, as if he didn't want to get on the boat.

    It turned out that the girl was the princess of Erhai Dragon King.  She was envious of the full moon in the world and came out to play, but unfortunately, she was fixed on the wall by a monster and turned into a painting.  On this day, San Lang came to cast down the demon, and San Lang's beautiful piano sound broke the demon's spell.  San Lang and Long Nu got married and lived a happy life.

    Since then, the dragon head sanxian has been spread among the Bai people and has become an inseparable musical instrument for young men and women when they are in love.

    (2) Composition

    Most of the dragon head sanxians are made by folk woodcarving craftsmen, and the best ones are made by the Bai nationality craftsmen in Jianchuan County, which is well-known far and near.  Not only the dragon head is decorated with colorful paintings, but some patterns are also carved on the piano frame.

    The dragon head sanxian of the Bai nationality is not only a folk musical instrument that can be played, but also an exquisite handicraft that can be watched and collected.  It is composed of resonance box, piano head, piano bar, pegs, bridge and strings. The size of the piano body is different.  80 cm.

    (3) play

    When playing, you can take a sitting or standing posture, hang the strap on your neck, place the piano body horizontally on your waist, the piano case is near the right hip or on the right thigh, and the piano head is inclined to the upper left.  Hold the piano rod with the tiger's mouth in the left hand, press the strings with the index finger, middle finger, and ring finger to get the sound, and use the index finger of the right hand to cover the hollow tapered horn tip or tie a bamboo pick to pluck the strings to produce the sound.

    For the tuning of the Sanxian, the middle and inner strings are in fifths or fourths, and the outer and inner strings are in octaves. The larger ones are usually tuned as: d, a, d1; the smaller ones are usually tuned as: e1  , a1, e2.  The sound is round and deep, and the volume is louder.

    The left hand has slides, kneading, tapping, and chords, and often uses large-scale "sliding and kneading" techniques; the right hand has techniques such as picking, rolling, and strumming.  Longtou Sanxian is mainly used for the accompaniment of Bai rap and folk songs, and also for solo or ensemble.

    (4) Big Ben

    Sanxian is the only accompaniment instrument dedicated to the Bai nationality rap music "Dabenqu" and "Benziqu".

    "Dabenqu" has been popular in Dali and Erhai regions for hundreds of years. It has rich singing styles. The traditional performance form is that one person sings, and the other plays the leading three-stringed strings to accompany it.
