The sun shines directly in from the outside and is shining on the three people sleeping huddled together on the floor of the cave dwelling. That night, they ran too much and worried too much. Before they knew it, they all fell to the ground.  I fell asleep and before I knew it, it was almost noon.

There were two crisp gunshots in the distance. These two gunshots were heard far away under the sky after the war, but they were also extremely clear.

Zhang Xian was the first to wake up, as if he had been hit, he jumped up.  Following him, Chen Daxing and Xiong Sanwa also woke up one after another and asked in horror: "What happened?"

Zhang Xian's mind was spinning rapidly, and at the same time he listened attentively, and vaguely heard a burst of noisy sounds coming from far and near.

"Someone is coming!" He responded immediately.

"Let's go quickly!" Chen Daxing also stood up.  Hearing this, Xiong Sanwa also jumped up.

Zhang Xian came to the door of the broken kiln and looked out. In the snow, he saw a group of black dots shouting towards him. As he got closer, Zhang Xian realized that these people were not wearing People's Liberation Army uniforms, but ordinary people. However,  Carrying guns and gathering in groups, they were obviously local militiamen.

"Let's go!" Chen Daxing had already arrived at the exit on the other side of the cave dwelling and turned to Zhang Xianda.

Zhang Xian turned around, looked at the white snow over there, shook his head, and said, "We can't leave. If we leave our footprints, they will stay here, and they will find us!"

Thinking that Zhang Xian was right, Chen Daxing quickly stopped his legs that were about to step into the snow.

"What should we do? They seem to be coming this way!" Xiong Sanwa asked anxiously.

Zhang Xian raised his head. This broken brick kiln had three cave dwellings, with a huge chimney in the middle. Huaibei produced coal, and this kiln was also burned with coal.

"Go and hide in the chimney above!" Zhang Xian ordered.

Xiong Sanwa and Chen Daxing quickly turned back to the kiln and climbed up with Zhang Xian.

Just as the three people hid themselves, a person called out from outside the cave: "There is a Kuomintang soldier here, dead!" Apparently they had already arrived outside and found the dead captain.

¡°Go inside and have a look!¡± one person suggested.

Soon, two or three sturdy men walked into the cave. They immediately saw the corpse that had changed clothes with Zhang Xian. One of them immediately shouted: "There is another one here!"

Immediately, five or six more people crowded in. One of them, a short man who was older, about forty years old, squatted down and looked at the body carefully. When he stood up from the ground, he already had a corpse in his hand.  There was one more certificate, which was Zhang Xian's general officer certificate.

"This is a major general from the Kuomintang, named Zhang Xian!" the man told the villagers who gathered around him.

One of them sighed: "This guy is quite capable. After running for two days, he ran from Shuangduiji to our Zhangjiaji. Haha, it's a pity that he still couldn't escape!"

Zhangjiaji?  Zhang Xian was stunned when he heard the name. He vaguely remembered seeing this village on a one-in-50,000 map. His memory of the map was amazing. He remembered that it was located six or seven miles northwest of Chenji.  It seems that after running all night last night, they still have not left the Chenji area and are still in the area controlled by the Communist Army.

"Bring that Kuomintang soldier in and let him identify him!" This older man seemed to be the leader of the militia, ordering the people behind him.

After a while, a lieutenant wearing a national army uniform was pushed in with his arms tied up. When he was pushed in, the militia captain was still teaching him: "I told you not to run, but you must run. If our marksmanship is accurate,  One o'clock, you may be lying here like these two people! Look, do you know this person?" He said, pointing to the body on the ground, and at the same time brought Zhang Xian's ID in front of the lieutenant  .

The lieutenant was startled, and suddenly he fell to his knees on the ground and cried bitterly. While crying, he wailed: "Sir Commander" as if he was mourning his heir.

Listening to the lieutenant¡¯s voice, Zhang Xian, Chen Daxing and Xiong Sanwa had already guessed who this person was. He should be a company commander named Wang Peng from the 354th Regiment.  During the breakout two days ago, the 354th Regiment was dispersed, but I don¡¯t know how the company commander survived the two nights and was unfortunately captured by these militiamen.

"Is he really your division commander?" the militia captain asked.

Wang Peng nodded affirmatively, tears streaming down his face, but again? Can you blame them?  Zhang Xian, however, felt a little sad: "If the people are not living well, they must seek change. This is the fault of the National Government. It is too corrupt at the top. We can't blame the Communist Party for taking advantage of it!"  "

"Brother, they thought it was you who died!" Xiong Sanwa found it funny.

Zhang Xian said seriously: "San baby, don't call me that in the future, please call me Ah Shui!"

"Yeah!" Xiong Sanwa quickly changed his words: "Ah Shui!"

Zhang Xian smiled and asked him, "Is there anything wrong with this?"

Xiong Sanwa was stunned for a moment, nodded, and said: "It would be great if they really thought it was you, and they wouldn't chase us! It's just that when I saw Zhang Yi crying so sadly, I felt a little guilty!  "

Zhang Xian snorted coldly and said calmly: "There is nothing between our two brothers. He is him and I am me. If there is any connection, it is that we share the same character Zhang!"

Seeing that Zhang Xian was unwilling to mention Zhang Yilai, Xiong Sanwa shut her mouth.

"I'm just a little suspicious!" Zhang Xian thought of something again and said leisurely: "I'm just afraid that this golden cicada of mine will escape from its shell. The trick of cheating death can be concealed from others, but not from Liu Xinghua!"

"How could it be?" Chen Daxing said: "Looking at his expression just now, you didn't see anything? Besides, we did it perfectly, how could he see it?"

Zhang Xian gave a wry smile and said, "Do you think the clothes are perfect? ??Although that man was bombed beyond recognition, his clothes were also full of blood. Although my coat was also stained with a lot of blood, it was not stained with blood.  Concentrated on the upper part." He said, pointing to the dried blood stains on the clothes he was wearing at this time. The blood stains were indeed concentrated on the upper part of the clothes as he said.

"This is a detail, maybe they can't see it!" Chen Daxing speculated.

"I hope so!" Zhang Xian could only hold on to a trace of luck.

"What should we do next?" Chen Daxing couldn't help but asked again.

Zhang Xian thought for a moment and said: "This is Zhangjiaji. We still haven't left the Chenji area. If it doesn't snow tonight, I don't think we can cross the Fei River. It's just that we can't cross the bridge now, or  If we go a little further up, the water there will be much shallower, so it seems we can only wade through it on foot, and then follow the original plan and go to Fengtai first!"

"Okay!" Chen Daxing and Xiong Sanwa nodded together.

"Now, what we need is patience. We can't be like that Captain Wang, who runs around in broad daylight without being caught by them!" Zhang Xian said with some pity, and at the same time, "It's better to eat something.  Take a rest here and wait until dark before taking action!"

"Yes!" The two of them agreed together and took out the hidden steamed buns. Although it was as hard as a weight from the cold, the three of them ate it with gusto with snow water.  (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.com
