There was no sound or movement outside the door.

After he arrived, he was busy during the day and often had trouble falling asleep at night. Adjusting his breath was useless. His body was a little bad. He had coughed again a few days ago, but his hearing was as sharp as before.

Just now, when he turned around to pour water, he heard the crunching sound of snow being stepped on outside the door and window.

Although the sound was very soft and short, it reached his ears clearly.

Pei You'an couldn't imagine that at the end of the year, in the wilderness of the isolated city outside the Great Wall, in this snowy late night, who would come to this material yard to look for him.

He thought of the little white wolf that sneaked in to steal food a few days ago and was caught by Old Soldier Ding who set a trap and injured its leg.  Later, I healed its foot injury, fed it food, and then released it.  But it's so cold and freezing, with nowhere to find food. This little thing doesn't know whether to live or die, and maybe it has come back again.

The sound of stepping on the snow just now may have been made by it.

Pei Youan coughed, walked to the door, and opened it.  A gust of wind carried snowflakes and rushed in head-on.

He looked to the left and right.

A petite female figure appeared in his sight. She was covered in ice and snow, standing by the window, motionless, as if she was a delicate snowman who had just been piled up.

Snow flakes were flying above her head and stuck to the top of her hair.  She stared at him, tears rolling down silently from her frozen and red cheeks.

Pei Youan's gaze paused on the woman's face.

    "Fu'er!"

    He actually screamed.

Taishan collapsed in front of him without changing his color. In the past twenty years, he had never been so shocked as at this moment, to the point of losing his composure.

For a moment, he even thought he was in a dream and couldn't believe what he saw.  The figure froze.

"Cousin, I'm here to find you."

Jia Fu choked with sobs and said in a trembling voice.

She couldn't bear it anymore.  For more than half a year, since the day he left Quanzhou, day after day, all the worries, longings, expectations, grievances, and anger accumulated in my heart turned into tears and this loud expression when I saw him.  Brother, he cried loudly and his tears fell like pearls.

Pei Youan stepped in front of her, stretched out his arms to hug her, and tightened his arms so hard that he almost broke a section of her body.

    "Fu'er! Fu'er!"

He couldn¡¯t say anything else at all, he just held her tightly and kept repeating her name.

A gust of wind blew, and the wooden door was blown against the door wall, making a loud bang.

The body in his arms was cold and trembling.  Pei You'an touched her hand and froze, his mind immediately clearing up. He carried her in and put her on his bed. He took off her half-wet coat and boots and socks that were soaked in ice and snow, and pulled off the quilt.  He wrapped her body in quilt and ordered her to lie down. Then he closed the door and added charcoal to the furnace first.

While he was busy, a pair of arms suddenly penetrated from both sides of his lower back and tightened tightly in front of his abdomen.

Jiafu slid down from the bed, hugged him from behind, and pressed her face against his back.

    "Big cousin"

She called him in a low voice, with a soft nasal sound after crying, which was full of nostalgia and satisfaction.

Pei Youan stopped for a moment, turned around, hugged her again and brought her back to the bed. This time he sat down with her.

The old wooden bed, which was about to lose its teeth, suddenly bore the weight of two people, and the bed legs made a slight creak.

He touched her cold cheek still stained with residual tears with the palm of his hand, rubbed her cold hands to warm them, then touched her feet, and then used his own body temperature to warm her feet.

"Fu'er, you idiot, why did you suddenly come to a place like this"

He looked at her with a bit of reproach in his tone, and saw her looking at him with wide, tear-filled eyes. He stopped, and the two of them stared at each other. For a long time, no one spoke anymore.

The room was extremely quiet.  The dim light of the soybean oil lamp swayed slightly.  The only sound in my ears was the whistling north wind blowing in the wilderness.  The fire also became brighter, and the room gradually became warmer, just like her body temperature.

Pei Youan's face gradually pressed towards her.

Jiafu¡¯s eyelashes trembled slightly and she slowly closed her eyes. The moment his lips were about to touch hers, she held back.

"Cousin, don't you want to kiss Fu'er?"

Jia Fu opened her eyes and murmured, her eyes slightly tearful and filled with disappointment.

? ?A faint blush appeared on You'an's pale face. He shook his head and whispered: "I want to kiss you. I just had a cough a few days ago. Just wait. I will be cured in two days."  kiss you¡¡"

Jiafu hooked one arm around his neck and pressed down on his back with the other.

Perhaps he had been ill for the past few days, and he was really weak. As soon as Jia Fu pressed him, he fell softly on the bed, without any resistance.

Jiafu rushed forward, held his face in her hands, kissed him, and bit his lips, which hurt him and avoided her sharp little teeth.  She was still smiling at first, with a little pride, then slowly stopped, her face lying on his chest, the back of her head facing him, and she cried silently.

Pei Youan remained motionless and closed his eyes for a moment. Then he suddenly opened his eyes and stared at her. Without saying a word, he turned over and pressed her under him.

When Jiafu woke up, it was already the next day. The heavy snow had stopped, the sun had risen, and a few golden rays of light leaked in through the gaps in the wooden doors and windows.  The room was so quiet that it was like falling into a dream.

Pei You'an has not recovered from his illness for a long time. He was probably too tired last night. I don't know what time it is now. He is still asleep and has not woken up.

He faced her, eyes closed, one arm around her waist, and his breath fell gently on her forehead.

    It¡¯s warm and reassuring.
