"City of Thorns" by Sarah Waters

In a large manor on the outskirts of London, Mr. Leary and his niece Maud live. Mr. Leary has a surly personality and drives Maude to organize and read books in the library all day long.  The poor girl has never stepped out of the manor since she was a child, living a life of darkness.  One day, the intrusion of a stranger brought life to Maude's long-dried heart. He was Raiseford who came to teach Maude how to draw.  Hearing that Maude had a dowry of 40,000 pounds, he came up with a way to make money by cheating the marriage.

In order to ensure success, Rivers called in Soda from the theft gang, and after arrangement, Su became Maude's personal maid.  Under careful planning step by step, things developed as Raffles expected. What he didn't know was that there was a sincere love between Maude and Sue.  Su felt more and more guilty and self-blaming, seeing that Maude was about to be sent to the madhouse, Su was heartbroken.

But things quickly took a turn for the worse. It turned out that everything was not as simple as Su imagined. A big conspiracy carefully brewed more than ten years ago was waiting for everyone, and a truth like a bolt from the blue was about to come out.  [1]

The above is the introduction of Du Niang, but there is a mistake.

The text of the book I got was that Maude had a dowry of fifteen thousand pounds.

And the final ending is that the unscrupulous "Miss" who wrote the little porn book and her "maid" who is good at picking locks met again in the thorn manor and really lived together.

When I borrowed this book from the library, there was no introduction at all!  As a result, after I finished reading it, I f*cked it up. Sure enough, from the two heroines who appeared halfway through the bed and made a bunch of rolls, it proved that this book was a wrong three views of the whole staff. At the end, all the tricks were exhausted to make this pair of lace.  side otl

I went to check on the author of this book, let me go, this great god "Her research field is lesbian and gay historical fiction, and has published articles on gender, sex and history in many publications. So far  important works that more or less involve homosexuality."

And take a look at the award-winning resume of this great god¡ª¡ª

He was selected as one of the "20 best contemporary English writers" by granta magazine (2003), and won several literary awards, such as the "Young Writer of the Year Award" (2000) and "English Writer of the Year" from the British "Sunday Times" (2000).  Writer's Award" (2003), "CWA Dagger Award for Historical Crime Fiction" (2002), shortlisted for "Citrus Award" (2002, 2006) and "Booker Award" (2002, 2006, 2009), etc.  One of the best novelists.

It is true that this story is very interesting. After reading it in one breath, I think the final ending is really great.  The eldest lady and her maid are linked by fate because of the entanglement of the previous generation.  Don't care about the three views in this book at all.

    "The Talisman" by Stephen King

    I really can't read otl

Barely read a tenth of the content and gave up.

Obviously I enjoyed watching Stephen's "Four Seasons".  My favorite is, of course, the short story "The Shawshank Redemption". Of course, the other short stories arevery weird and strange.

ps: I don¡¯t know if anyone wants to know my recent reading status. Since we opened a new library here, I have become a resident resident of that librarybut because the transportation is really inconvenient, so a  I read up to six books a month, and the ones I borrow are all super thick tomes

I took the lecture leaflet from the library, there will be a great lecture this Sunday, and I will write my repo when I come back.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
