    ?

When Qiao Liang was discharged from the shelter hospital, he came to the Jiangcheng funeral home.  He needs to pick up the urn of his wife Xiaoxiao here.

When he heard the news that Xiaoxiao had passed away, his heart trembled.  There is only darkness in front of his eyes, is there a future for him and his little family?

His whole body's nerves were numb, and he repeatedly called several people to confirm. Was that person smiling?  Could it be a mistake in reporting the same name?  Or was it notified to the wrong person?  He didn't believe it, and he didn't want to laugh at the fact that he had passed away forever.  It wasn't until after talking to Pei Jing that he had to force himself to accept such a cruel thing.

There was a long step in front of the funeral parlor. Every time Qiao Liang took a step, his heart sank, sinking all the way into an invisible abyss, with no end at all.

In the hall, the noisy crowd seemed to disappear immediately.  Qiao Liang suddenly remembered the scene when he and Xiaoxiao were nestled on the sofa watching old black and white movies.

There were people crying and talking around, but as soon as those voices entered Qiao Liang's ears, he couldn't hear anything.

Along the way, he felt a little floating under his feet.  How he got into the car, and how he arrived at Jiangcheng Hospital, I don't remember at all.  He didn't even know why he was still alive.

The hospital was filled with the smell of alcohol and disinfectant. When Pei Jing came out with the baby in her arms, the baby was still sucking the bottle.

"I just changed the diaper, and I'm hungry again, and I'm drinking." When Pei Jing handed the child into Qiao Liang's hands, Qiao Liang's hand froze for a moment.

This poor child has never drank breast milk since he was born.  She held the bottle and sucked it vigorously, clenching her small fists tightly.  In this cold weather, a thin layer of sweat appeared on her forehead, and Pei Jing quickly wiped it off with gauze.

When the bottle was emptied, the child's head twisted a few times contentedly.  With trembling hands, Qiao Liang gently pressed his fingertips on his daughter's face and stroked it.  The child's small mouth immediately grinned, and a pure smile appeared on Qiao Liang's face.

This smile made Qiao Liang's heart a little warm, a little sour, and even a little uncomfortable.

After a long time, he mustered up the courage to ask Pei Jing: "Did she leave any words?"

"I didn't even have time to leave any words" Pei Jing shook her head, and passed the bag over: "It's Xiaoxiao's belongings inside, and the phone is inside."

"Unexpectedly, the last time I sent her to the hospital turned out to be a farewell I called her later, do you know? I did, but she didn't answer" Qiao Liang murmured, "I will  Take care of the child well, and honor her parents well. I want her to leave with peace of mind"

Pei Jing no longer had the heart to look at Qiao Liang, and the moment her eyes lowered, she caught a glimpse of the urn covered with a white cloth.

"Smile, Qiao Liang is here to take your mother and daughter home" Pei Jing watched Qiao Liang's family leave, and an uncontrollable sadness throbbed in her heart again.

Painful emotion opened his arms and slowly embraced Pei Jing.  She was a little dazed, and she didn't know how to escape, she just felt that her whole body was squeezed under the strain of unspeakable pain.

She trembled her lips, barely raised her head, looked at the gloomy sky, only in this way could she swallow her tears forcefully.  All the misery gradually turned into mourning, just like after the flood receded, leaving only ripples in my heart.

She needs to cheer up immediately, this battle without smoke of gunpowder is not completely over yet, she must go back to the patient (Remember the website URL: www.hlnovel.com
