    ?

When the alarm clock rang, Pei Jing habitually soaked the towel in warm water.  A wrung towel was applied to the face, and then the neck was slightly tilted back. The moment the eyes were closed, one could feel the warm breath flowing on the face.

When she went downstairs, she deliberately glanced at the corner of the hotel lobby, seeing that the old lady Liu was no longer there, and then she felt a little relieved, thinking that the old lady had probably gone home already.

The big clock on the wall at the front desk pointed to seven o'clock, but the sky outside the window was not bright.  The lobby was crowded with doctors and nurses, all waiting for the shuttle bus from the hospital to arrive.

Donglei sounded in bursts, and the torrential rain suddenly poured down from the dark clouds, splashing water on the marble floor.  The shuttle bus arrived late. It turned out that the bus had some problems on the way, so we had to temporarily change to two commercial vehicles.

Pei Jing leaned over and took a look at the carriage. A car can accommodate up to eight people, but there are only a dozen empty seats. She simply gave way and let the others get on the car first.

In the rain and mist, the car drove out of the small square of the hotel, and gradually disappeared.  The yellow street lamps were cast down, and the traffic lights were flickering, which somewhat confused Pei Jing's eyes.

Faintly, she seemed to hear the security guard not far away talking loudly, but when she listened carefully, the voice seemed to be floating in mid-air.

For some reason, Pei Jing suddenly remembered an old incident when she was in elementary school.  It seemed that it was also on such a winter morning, when she forgot to bring her umbrella when she was going to school, she encountered heavy rain when she was halfway along the road.

The rain is coming, and it is unavoidable to be drenched.  She had to close her eyes and choose to accept her fate.  Unexpectedly, the top of his head was suddenly covered by a tall figure.

Pei Jing raised her head and looked, but it turned out that her father, Pei Zhen, had rushed over with an umbrella.  His white hair was curled up disheveledly, looking a little messy.  It was obvious that his father had just returned from his night shift, and his eyes were still bloodshot from exhaustion.

"Dad, why are you here?" Pei Jing asked half surprised, half happily.

At that time, Pei Zhen had just returned home from aid in Africa.  As soon as the man came back, he plunged straight into the hospital, and he was so busy that he didn't even go back home.  Pei Jing was naturally overjoyed to see her father at this time.

Pei Zhen squatted down with a smile, and patted her daughter's shoulder lightly: "When I got home, I heard your mother say that you didn't bring an umbrella when you went out, and you might get wet. I hurried over to have a look  , take you to school by the way."

Pei Zhenyuan was walking on the right side of Pei Jing. He was a bit tall, so when he opened the umbrella, he had to lean towards his daughter to prevent her from being splashed by the rain.  In this way, his hand is suspended in the air, and it will inevitably be a little sore after a long time.

"Dad, you haven't had a good rest since you came back. Are you tired?" Pei Jing blinked, looking at her father's unshaven chin, and asked with concern.

The father and daughter walked under the eaves of the school. Pei Zhen closed the black umbrella, and the sleeves on half of his shoulders were already soaked.

"Our Jing'er has grown up, and we will care about Dad." Pei Zhen scratched her daughter's nose and said with a smile: "Dad is not a superman, of course he will feel tired sometimes. However, as long as the patient recovers  , then I'd be happier than anything else."

When Pei Jing looked up at her father, she could always see stars in his eyes: "Dad, when I grow up, I want to be a doctor too! Just like you!"

There was still a little childishness in Pei Jing's expression when she spoke.

Pei Zhen pursed her lips and smiled, and said in a hoarse voice: "Then you have to work harder and study hard. In the future, I will wait for you in the hospital."

Hearing this, Pei Jing hurriedly grabbed her father's finger, "The pull hook is raised, and it cannot be changed for a hundred years. A liar is a puppy."

The father and daughter looked at each other and laughed at the same time.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
