A touch of the setting sun in winter is slightly pale reflected on the signboard of "Xiangyang Apartment".  Under the jagged branches, the scorched sycamore leaves rustled in the cold wind.

The south is always wet and cold, with three floors inside and three floors outside. Three-year-old Lele is covered with thick winter clothes, and looks like a chubby ball from a distance.  With a cat-funny bouquet in her hand, she calls her cats to come home for dinner.

The cat squatted on the edge of the wall, looked down at Lele, and called "meow", but refused to jump down to go home with the little master.

He Zhimian looked down at the watch in his hand and frowned slightly: "Lele, it's getting late. It's time for us to go home. Dad has to go back to cook."

Lele's small mouth was tightly pursed, and a pair of moist eyes rolled around: "Dad, Mom made an agreement today, and will come back to have dinner with Lele. Will she come back?"

Hearing this, He Zhimian lowered his head almost inaudibly and let out a secret sigh.  He tried his best to hide his emotions, then squatted down, turned up the collar of his clothes for Lele, and carefully wrapped her cheeks that were frozen like two red berries.

"Mom has been busy with work recently, and she has to see patients in the hospital. If she is free, she will definitely come back to eat with you." These words seemed to comfort Lele, but also seemed to be convincing He Zhimian himself.

He Zhimian and his wife Pei Jing are alumni of Shencheng University.  After graduation, one stayed in school as a counselor, and the other went to Duke University Medical Center in the United States for further study.

After Pei Jing returned to China, the two were almost married naked.  No diamond ring, no wedding, just a simple wedding photo and it's over.  Housing in the urban area is too expensive, and I found a rental house at a reasonable price in the suburbs, even if I settled down temporarily.

Shanghai is the most developed area on the southeast coast, behind the prosperity is the high housing prices and prices.  After adding a new child to the family, the pressure of life suddenly increased.

Pei Jing spends most of her time spinning around in the hospital.  She is a resident doctor. Recently, a colleague resigned and left. Currently, there are only two people working in shifts in the ward.  In addition to the patients who are in charge of the ward, they are also responsible for accompanying the consultation.

During the day shift, it is said that I can get off work after five o'clock, but in fact, I am often busy until midnight before returning home.  The night shift was even more difficult, and most of the time I was constantly looking at the patients admitted to the emergency department.  Three days a shift, no rest days, no holidays.

The time He Zhimian can see his wife is very limited, and even having a meal together is a luxury.  As for Xiao Lele, every night she lay down by the window, falling asleep in anticipation of her mother's return.

At two o'clock in the morning, the "click" button sounded, and Pei Jing dragged her tired figure, bending over at the entrance to change her slippers.  Out of professional habits, the first thing I do when I get home is to wash my hands in the bathroom.

The pool was filled with cold water, and Pei Jing subconsciously submerged her whole head in the water.  The icy cold water hit every inch of skin on her face, as if she could relieve some of the drowsiness in her mind.

"I'm back." He Zhimian leaned against the door frame, folded his hands in front of his chest and said.

Pei Jing took off the towel and wiped her face, a streak of scorched lights reflected on her face, she looked a little dazed.  She stared at He Zhimian's figure in the mirror, and whispered, "When did Lele go to bed? I promised her to come back for dinner today, but something happened in the ward, and I couldn't come back.  "

"I explained to Lele that you are busy. Haven't eaten yet? I made some side dishes for you, and they are still warming in the pot." When talking, He Zhimian's face was a little solemn.

"Forget it, I don't have much appetite, I can't even drink water, I'd better go to bed first." Pei Jing rubbed her forehead, she was too tired to speak.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
