When it was dawn, I opened my eyes a little.  The light was dim, and for a moment, I thought I was in the wooden house of Fenggu Middle School, in the middle of the night like a dream.  I listened intently, listening to the dogs barking in the distant village, and the rustling wind coming from the cemetery behind the house.

No.  What I heard were some familiar breathing sounds.

I opened my eyes a little more, and immediately understood that I was still in the rat's nest, and Jacques's little face was glowing softly in the darkness.

"Jacques, am I going to die?" My voice was so low that only I could hear it.

Jacques shouted loudly: "Ah Huang, he is alive!"

The children immediately came to me.

"No," he said.  "You're just temporarily in a coma."

"If, if the golden retriever is caught, will someone dare to testify in court?"

"Don't worry," Jacques whispered in my ear, "I will, I will. I know many things about him, and I know all the bad things he has done!"

I gave a satisfied "um" and fell asleep again, very deeply, sleeping from the ground to the heart of the earth.

I opened my eyes again, as if it was dusk, the sound of the city was like Lin Tao in the distance, rolling over and over at the edge of the earth.

    "Jacques, am I dead?"

    "No, you're alive again."

    "So, have I ever died?"

"No. You fell asleep for two days. You scared us, Ultraman! You can't die so easily. I believe you won't. I'm going to help you find your father, you  That good dad who can talk on the violin is 10,000 times better than my dad who always has a beer belly! Altman, we won't let you die, you are so obedient and alive again! You really scared us to death!  "

"I'm cold. Is it cooling down?"

    "You have a fever."

They began to cover my body with clothes, newspapers, sacks, everything they could find that could cover my body.  Puffs of dust rushed into my mouth, but I didn't even have the strength to sneeze.  My nose seemed to be blocked and I could only breathe through my mouth, so my throat was itchy and sore like I had a bad cold.  My lip is split and I want to lick it with my tongue, but it is numb and doesn't listen to me.

    "Water" I woke up.

"It's coming!" Jacques carefully poured water into my mouth, I swallowed two mouthfuls, and my throat choked with pain.  They continued to take off their clothes and cover me.

It's like the whole shed is falling on top of me

I am floating out from the center of the earth, floating into the sky The sky is black, there is no moon, and there are no stars.

I began to believe that I must be dead.  Only the dead will float in this kind of darkness without any light.  Such a sky, like a huge jar, is specially used to collect the souls of the dead. The air inside is dark blue and has a strange smell of wild plants.

It turns out that to die is to get lost in the dark, without a ray of light, without a sound, without a branch that can be held in one's hand.  The crickets, the birds, the dogs, all the cute little animals escaped to nowhere.  How light and lonely is death!  You don't hear anyone's voice, you don't see a familiar face, and even nature is hidden.  You can't even talk, you can't make a sound, it's as black as the air, there's no place to stay or lean.

As a kid, I used to want to die - after my grandpa went on a business trip, my dad got sick, and my grandma kept beating me up.  I hid myself in Grandpa's study.  There are mice in the study, they must have been hungry for a long time, and a small half of one foot of the bookcase has been eaten away by them.  They were jumping up and down on me, trying to eat my ears, or my fingers, while I was asleep.  I'm thin, but my ears are big. They must have been salivating at my meaty ears.

I had no choice but to go out, go to the grass behind the cabin, and lie down.

I want to be sick, very sick, and just die, like I'm asleep.

Until Grandpa comes back, Dad comes back

I imagined that grandma was still nagging me because she couldn't find me, scolding me, emphasizing once again that a child like me should not be kept at home, and that Fermi was so expensive to raise that he had to be sent out  Her dissatisfaction and resentment gradually escalated. Dad found me, and I was already Grandpa held me tightly in his arms

I just want to see grandpa get angry at grandma, and everyone blames her for treating a helpless child without a mother like this!  I want her to be ashamed, to repent, to keep repenting ?: "After Dongli put the wine in the evening, there is a dark fragrance filling the sleeves" While singing, he used a sandalwood paperweight to beat the rhythm, and at the same time listened alertly to the surroundings.

I go to another room.  In the semi-dark kitchen, grandma was cooking.  She probably heard something, and said without raising her head, "Greedy!"

She is scolding me.  As a child I was always hungry and would sneak into the kitchen to see if I could find a baked sweet potato, or a few beans that had fallen by the stove.

I didn't speak, and stood in front of her.  She seemed to be dazzled, put down the ladle, and said, "Go to your father quickly! If you don't do anything, you will hide in the woods and play the piano. It's getting dark, and you want to play until you die?"

I felt once again that all the unhappiness she brought me when I was a child suddenly became listless.

I went outside the cabin.  Yeah, where's Dad?  I seem to have forgotten my father.

I sat down on the grass by the roadside and waited for Dad.

The bell rang, it was the evening bell, the softest and most melodious in the day, slowly, one by one, it rang against the sky, slapping the air away.  It brings the smell of dinner, the longing for sleep, ripples in the sky, comes down from the sky, and rolls in all the open places¡ª¡ªthe big playground, the crevices of the pine forests, the bends and valleys, rolling more and more  The farther away, all the places where the air is fresh and the wind is flowing, all shake gently

    twenty three

With a bang, the wooden door of the shed was kicked open.

Probably two or three adults came in, their footsteps were heavy and crackling, as if an earthquake had occurred.

"Come here and carry it out!"

It's the voice of the Golden Retriever.

"No, he's not dead!" the children screamed.

A thick hand reached out to pull me, but the children immediately jumped up and protected me.

    "Jacques!" the Golden Retriever shouted.

"You can't do this, he's not dead!" Jacques said.  His slender arms suddenly became very strong, grabbing my shoulder tightly.

"I'm also doing it for your own good. Although he still has his breath, he's coming soon!"

"No!" Jacques' voice shrilled, as if he was about to cry.

    "no!"

    "no!"

    The children yelled.

"Forget it!" A strange man's voice said, "Let's talk about it after we die."

    "Damn! These stinky rats!"

    They are gone.

Jacques supported my head: "Ultraman! Wake up!"

I opened my eyes a little bit.

He happily said to everyone: "He woke up again!"

They surrounded me again: "You're really not dead! How do you feel?"

    "Thirsty."

    "anything else?"

    "Headache."

    "anything else?"

"I thought I would never get up after lying down. Help me, let me sit up."

"It's great that you're alive! We both know you're not going to die."

"Of course." My voice was as soft as a mosquito.

"Do you know how long you have been in a coma? Have you had a lot of dreams again?"

"I went on a trip. Guess what I saw?"

"Bread tree? Sky warrior? Grave robber? Vampire?"

    "neither."

    "what is that?"

    "I am dead."

"What else can you see when you're dead?"

    "I'm going back."

    "where?"

"Wind Valley Middle School, grandpa's place."

"Are you going to heaven, to the other side for a stroll? Haha!"

"I don't know if I really saw the other shore But, I'm sure, I saw time go back"
