    ?

Grandpa carried me on his back and walked anxiously on the ridge of the field, and grandma ran behind all the way without even taking the farm tools. It can be seen how much they care about me in their hearts.

The toes were still bleeding, and the blood flowed from the crevices of the nails to the fingertips, pooled, and dripped down, just in time to meet Grandpa's swinging legs back and forth.  "Tap!" The sound of blood dripping on the yellow rubber shoes echoed in my ears.

"Grandpa, I'm fine, why don't you let me down, I can walk by myself" Feeling the sweat on Grandpa's back gradually, the clothes were all wet, I said with self-blame.

"It's okay, you see a lot of blood, if you don't hurry up and the blood bleeds, people will go into shock." I'll go, it's not as serious as you said, I was so scared that I didn't dare to speak for a moment.

Seeing that I didn't speak, grandpa sped up again and trotted all the way with me on his back.  Grandpa not only sweated on his back, but also had fine sweat gathered on his cheeks.  The gathered sweat ran down the cheeks and gathered under the chin. With the bumps of the trot, the sweat dripped and hit the blue vest on his chest.

After a while, I got home. Grandpa put me down and brought out a chair and a low bench.  The grandma who rushed back came out holding a bottle of Yunnan Baiyao not long after entering the house.

"Do you want to wash it, there is a lot of blood?" Grandma looked at Grandpa questioningly and said.

"Don't panic, I'll check the wound first. If it's serious, I'll go to the hospital immediately." Grandpa put me on the chair, and then gently put my right foot on the low bench with both hands.  I carefully observed my thumb back and forth several times.

"Fortunately, no bones were injured. Fortunately, when you went down with the pestle, the pestle was sideways. Otherwise, your thumb would definitely hurt the bones. Fortunately, it only hurt the epidermis and nail cap."

"Did the nail cover hurt? Then I won't have nails in the future?" I said a little depressed.

"If you don't have nails, you're fine. You still worry about this. As long as you don't hurt your bones, everything will be fine. If you hurt your bones, it will affect your walking in the future. Why are you so careless!"  It didn't take long before you injured your foot. Did your parents come back to blame us for not taking good care of you?"

"First give you some medicine to stop the bleeding and observe for a day. If you still don't feel better tomorrow, then go to the hospital." Grandpa took the bottle of Yunnan Baiyao from grandma and said.

"Is this medicine so effective? It can stop the bleeding when poured on it?" I was a little bit unconvinced.

"This medicine was given to me by your uncle. I have been using it for many years. Every time I accidentally get hurt, just sprinkle a little medicine on it, and it will heal quickly." Grandma turned and went back to the house and took out a handkerchief.

"Hiss!" The moment the medicine was poured, I almost bit my tongue in pain!  That kind of pain goes deep into the soul!  Tears flowed down the corners of his eyes, pouring out unstoppably.

"Come on, stretch out your hand, I'll wipe the blood off your hands first." Grandma took the handkerchief and began to wipe my hands.  After wiping my hands, grandpa also applied medicine to me.

The thumb was covered with a layer of khaki powder, and the blood quickly soaked through the powder, and when it was about to flow out, it stopped!  Is it really so amazing?  It really doesn't flow anymore!  This is the second time today I've been really shocked.  The first time was when the big sweet potatoes were dug in the morning.  Although the second shock happened when I was injured, I was still very satisfied with the effect of this medicine.

"Don't move, wait for the medicine to penetrate first." Grandpa said and poured some powder on my toes, and asked grandma to get some gauze. After applying the medicine, it must be bandaged, otherwise the wound will open.

There was no gauze at home, so grandma brought a piece of blue cloth from the shoe pocket (bamboo mending pocket). There were many small pieces of cloth in the shoe pocket, in various colors, which should have been cut from clothes.

"Come on, you wrap it up better, you bandage it up" Grandpa sprinkled a little bit of Yunnan Baiyao on my toes for the third time, then got up and asked grandma to come over.

"If you want it, I'll pack it" Grandma walked up to me, squatted on the ground, picked up the blue cloth, and compared the size to my toes.  Said: "Does it still hurt?"

"It doesn't hurt anymore. It hurt a little when I first took the medicine, but it's much better now," I said after wiping away the tears from the corners of my eyes.

Grandma folded the piece of cloth in half and gently attached it to my thumb, gently pinched the piece of cloth and my toes with one hand, and held the other end of the piece of cloth with the other hand, wrapping it around my toes  2 laps.

After wrapping it up, grandma took out the thread she had prepared, and wrapped it around her toes several times as before, but she didn't feel it at first. When grandma wound the thread tighter and tighter, her toes could still feel a little thread  pain.

"Grandma, can't you wash your feet if you wrap it up?" Before I finished speaking, grandpa came over with a basin of hot water, and put the footbath next to grandma.?? Turned around to get the slippers again.

I, who was not very sensible, suddenly had the urge to cry.  The farm work in the countryside is relatively heavy, but today, because of me, my grandparents were delayed in making a living. Moreover, when my grandparents saw that I was injured, they got up and took me home without saying a word. They didn't even care about the farm tools.  What if I lose it? Wouldn't it increase my sense of guilt?

Grandpa, who is usually strict, also has a gentle side. He brought water silently, and it was still hot water. I really didn't know what to say.

Grandma put down the wrapped feet, tried the water temperature, moved to the side, changed the position, supported my heel with one hand, put it gently in the footbath, and put the other hand on my heel.  And a small amount of water on the top of the instep.

After the feet were basically wet with water, grandma gently scrubbed the blood on them with her hands.  Most of the blood had dried up and stuck to the skin, which wasn't easy to clean off.  Grandma always scrubs so gently, not daring to deepen the strength, for fear that my injured foot will get worse.

After cleaning most of the area, only the thumb and a few toe creases on the front half of the foot remain.  Grandma picked up the towel, wet the towel, twisted it half dry, pinched the sharp corner of the towel with her hand, and gently wiped the area around her thumb little by little.

"Does it hurt to rub?" Grandma asked while rubbing.

Grandma's gentleness brought my tears to a close in an instant, took a deep breath, and replied: "It doesn't hurt anymore, it's much better now"

After scrubbing clean, grandpa took over the footbath, poured out the water, and grandma wiped my feet dry with a handkerchief.

"Slippers are here! I have to wear shoes now, or I won't be able to walk." Grandpa handed his slippers to me and said, "Let's make do with it first, wear my shoes, bigger ones, your shoes are too small, when you wear them  easy to get wounded¡±

Grandma took the shoes and gently put the shoes on my feet successfully, finally heaving a sigh of relief.  I slowly sat up, put my feet on the ground, and slowly moved to the sofa in the living room.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
