    ? Five-star recommendation:

    1. "Olive Kitteridge"

I remember that I recommended this American drama with the same name before, and it was well filmed. The heroine is the mother of "Three Billboards".  There are more characters, and the emotions are more subtle and delicate. Olive describes the life in a small town, and the subjects are mainly middle-aged and elderly. I remember only writing one or two young people.  In fact, I can't directly describe the chapters that moved me, because this book and the series are both very literary. For the same incident, some words can be very moving, while others are very plain.

The whole book depicts a long scroll of life in a seaside town in the northeastern United States. There are all kinds of ordinary and unfortunate people living in the town: there are young widows who lost their husbands shortly after they got married, and there are those who lost their lives because of childhood shadows.  A young psychiatrist who attempted suicide, a bar pianist who was never married but entangled with several men, a girl who suffered from anorexia due to a broken relationship, a teenager who stabbed his girlfriend 29 times and was imprisoned, and some  The wife who learned of her husband's affair at his funeral, and the mother who raised a penis at her daughter because she objected to her being with her fianc¨¦ Life seems to be in a turmoil, but in fact it is undercurrents.  Lust, betrayal, jealousy, unrequited love and unspeakable hate.  Everyone has their own story, and every family has its own secrets.

? I wanted to find book reviews, but none of them were particularly suitable, so I¡¯ll post movie reviews:

    Author: Don He

Anyway, the new year is only a few days old, and I can say without hesitation that "Olive Kitteridge" ("olive kitteridge") is the best film and television work I have seen so far this year, bar none.  This hbo TV movie adapted from the novel of the same name, no matter the text, video or performance, presents a perfect literary texture. It seems to be carelessly pinching your throat, forcing you to listen to him calmly tell about life's misunderstandings, disappointments and challenges one after another.  Regrets, but miraculously let you feel the tenacious vitality of life in the despair and suffocation.

Olive kitteridge is the name of the heroine in the play. She was born, raised, and married in the quiet seaside town of Crobis, Maine, and it seems that she will live there forever.  The father who committed suicide not only gave her an imperfect childhood, but also inherited her depression gene.  In order to fight against depression, Olive lived very seriously and attentively: she refused to rely on drugs all her life, and was wary of sleeping pills; she restrained herself from going violent, kept all the hostility in her words, and became everyone's heart  Mean and eccentric moms, aunts, old hags.

Because of being fully prepared for the shadows of life, olive finally became the shadow of other people's lives.

Being mean is naturally not a virtue, but it indiscriminately demonstrates a certain sense of superiority in intelligence; meanness is a very lethal intelligence, and it is a manifestation of an uncontrollable IQ gap.  The mean-speaking people around me are usually smart, not the kind of smart people who deal with things smoothly, otherwise they would not be labeled as "mean".  Others are real.

Olive is such a person.  She didn't want to express grief over the death of someone she didn't like, and she didn't want to be moved by the formal bouquet.  She couldn't pretend to be happy at a wedding ceremony that was riddled with holes inside and full of flowers on the outside.  She treasured the dress she made herself, and she seemed to be able to foresee all the ridicule, but she was furious at the real mockery.  She loves the struggling nature of life, not the pretense that covers it up.  After her son¡¯s wedding was over, a stranger asked ¡°Is everything okay?¡± She was unwilling to even say ¡°It¡¯s okay¡± politely, and she had to say it stubbornly: ¡°The wind is too strong, and everything is messed up.¡±  .

There is a detail in the film that I like very much.  After Olive was widowed, a mother who used to teach students came to comfort her and told her that her daughter is now a professional psychological care worker with a degree, and she can talk to her if needed.  Olive said blankly: "I remember she was not good at math when she was a child, it seems that she has found a suitable place now."

Seeing this, I laughed out loud. I especially want to applaud the author of the novel, and I also want to applaud characters like Olive.  I am willing to be condescending about my pain as an excuse to show sympathy.  Difficult to please, they are also difficult to comfort.  They think highly of themselves, or perhaps they do.

When I was a child, I watched "The King's New Clothes" and found it unreasonable. How could a naked king travel freely without knowing it?  How can the crowd of onlookers lie and lie calmly?  But the fact is that it didn't take long to enter the social jungle, and everyone felt like a member of the blind clamor.?A lot of comments are about Olive¡¯s tender side, but like this author, what impressed me most about Olive was her meanness. Her poisonous mouth is really a bit malicious, and of course she also showed  On the tender side, facing suicidal men and anorexic women are unexpectedly gentle and understanding, but it does not affect her meanness to most people, including her husband, son, and daughter-in-law most of the time.  Those mean and hurtful ones hit you very powerfully at the same time, recommended books and watching TV, I remember only 4 episodes of TV very shortly.

    2. Jiangcheng

This is a very classic book. Before I read it, I always felt that it might be full of foreigners' scrutiny, either too objective or too subjective. In the end, I didn't expect it to be more affectionate than many Chinese writers, and the subjective and objective perspectives are well integrated.  Kind of like the first half of Shark's Fin and Pepper, but better.  What's more, it is very rare to write about the life of all classes in China. Domestic writers mostly write about the world around them. He Wei can easily deal with all kinds of people because of his status as a foreigner.

    3. The moment of the stars

I have pushed it before, so I won¡¯t introduce it much.

    4. Grass crown

I haven¡¯t introduced much about the third part of the Roman First Man series that I have pushed before. I feel that the name of the Roman name is too long, which really hinders many readers, but it is actually a very good-looking set of historical novels, with an epic feel.  The group portrait is amazing. Because I was watching The First Man in Rome and A Song of Ice and Fire at the same time, the characterization and scene description of the two are very different, especially the fate and prophecy. Historical novels have completely won fantasy literature.

    5. New impact

    Directly exothermic commented:

Cough the students of the arts have a snack. Go out and spray investment or write a manual or something before you make up for culture and self-cultivation. It¡¯s too late to memorize two paragraphs. Hughes is not counted as your cheating.  There are two main points of Hughes' goodness: 1) Let's talk about carrots and eggplants and say eggplants-this is called simplicity.  2) The writing is good, with few allusions, suitable for all mindless.  Don't open your mouth and shut your mouth, and think of the trinity of the one-yuan, two-element, body, matrix, and trinity.  Say something simple and thoughtful.

This is the same as what the hot comment said. It is true to talk about art. One is one, two is two, and at the same time it brings out the artistry and meaning very well. Because of work needs, we often listen to art theory and art history.  Look, many of them are either too far-fetched or too encyclopedic. Although some domestic masters explain the knowledge very well, there are too few explanations on beauty, and there are not many explanations that really give you room for thinking and aftertaste.  However, this book requires a certain professional background, and I recommend it to students who are interested in art.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
