    my only

The film is adapted from the personal experience of American actor George Hamilton (George Hamilton).  In 1953, Dan Devereaux (Kevin Bacon), husband of Ann Devereaux (Ren¨¦e Zellweger), became famous for writing the song "My Only One."  Hong, who has since attracted bees and butterflies, was caught and raped in bed.  Ann left in a rage, and left New York with his sons Robbie (Mark Randall) and George (Logan Lerman), after Boston, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, until Los Angeles, California.  Ann kept meeting old friends along the way, intending to find a suitable partner and provide a bright future for herself and her children until her savings ran out and she was stretched.  Along the way, George thought that his mother would eventually bow to his father due to financial problems and return to New York, until he finally understood his mother's determination and accidentally discovered his acting talent.

Film review (by Floating in the World, full spoilers)

The film is narrated from the perspective of his son George.  Dad Dan is a band conductor, because he wrote a hit song, so the family life is not bad, belonging to the upper class.  Dad's hit song was called "My One and Only."

This song was written by Dad to Mom, but ironically, Dad cheated.

Mama Ann is a very decent upper-class woman.  She came back from other places ahead of time and found her husband was topless and her mistress was lying on her bed.  She immediately stated that she wanted a divorce, and then began to pack her things.

An was very angry, but instead of beating and scolding Xiao San, she even helped Xiao San zip up her skirt.

An is the kind of person who has no worries about food and clothing, and has high requirements for the quality of life. She doesn't know that this society is so unfriendly to women, or that it will be so difficult for women to survive in society without a husband.

She breathed a sigh of relief when she went to the bank to get her money out and put the wedding ring in the safe.

She is not a competent mother. She didn't even know that her son had changed schools, and even ran to the original school to pick up her son.

After receiving her son, she asked him to take cash to a car dealership to buy a car.  The car dealer almost thought her son was a thief who stole so much cash and wanted to call the police to arrest him.  She rushed to the car dealership, pretended to bargain, and bought the car.

She can drive, but in order to maintain elegance, she insists that her son George drive.  And it was George's first time touching the steering wheel.

She has two sons, the eldest son Robbie likes to act and embroider, and his movements are more "mother". At that time, society discriminated against such people, but Ann didn't think it was a big deal.  Robbie often matches her clothes, and she always praises Robbie for his good eyesight.

The youngest son, George, is a "normal" person, relatively reserved, and he is the most reliable of the three.  Ann left New York and took her son to different cities. Her initial idea was to find another man to marry so that she could settle down.

However, it was not easy for a woman with two children to remarry at that time.  They went first to Boston, where she met the man who had proposed to her before.  She tried to establish a relationship with this person, but she didn't expect that this person just wanted to ask her to borrow money, and, in the end, stole her wallet.

Boston was the first stop from New York, and she still had some money, and she was sure she would find a new husband soon.  So they checked into high-end hotels.  George reminded her to save money, but she didn't listen at all.

Now that the wallet is stolen, this is really worse.

However, at this time she met another man, a soldier.  (For an interlude, this actor also played the cheating hero in the American drama The Good Wife) They met before.  When the hotel staff chased An Fu for the meal money she had just dated with the man who stole her wallet, the soldier rescued her.

Logically, she and this soldier came together.  It was time to talk about marriage, but this man was too domineering to his son, so she resolutely left this man and left Boston.

The incident that ignited the conflict between them was that the man gave Ann a sum of money to buy some wedding supplies.  But while shopping, they donated money to those in need.  Ann went back and told the man about it, and the man blamed George, and Ann left angrily in order to protect George.  Before leaving, he threw back the necklace given by the man.

This scene was very enjoyable to watch, but I also felt sorry for An. I thought I had found someone worthy of entrusting my life, but I didn't expect that I just changed a cage for myself.

    The next stop is Pittsburgh.

they didn't??I still love you or not, but I know I don't need you anymore.  Only then did Dan realize that Ann was serious.

Not long after, Ann received the news that Dan had died of a heart attack.  George flies back to New York for his father's funeral.  There was a very good school willing to provide him with a full scholarship, so he stayed in New York to continue his studies.

In the end, by mistake, George became an actor, and Robbie also realized that he was more suitable for designing and matching clothes.  And Mom understood that life doesn't have to depend on a man.  She is no longer the only one for a certain man, she is the only one for herself, the only one for her sons, and the three of them can live well.

The upper-class women in the 1950s and 1960s had a really deep obsession with decent.  This movie is true, and so is The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

At that age, there were very few jobs available to women, and even married women were not allowed to work.  So divorce is very costly for women.  This is why Ann has been thinking about remarrying after the divorce, because it is difficult for her to find another job with the same income besides finding another man to support herself.

Similar to Mrs. Maisel, they all suffered from the betrayal of their husbands, so they walked out of marriage.  After getting out of marriage, they have to face the pressure of social public opinion and the pressure of real life, and the whole environment does not provide them with a condition for self-reliance. The only choice is to endure the humiliation and live in marriage.

The wife of the paint shop owner is also a very decent woman. She asked Ann if she liked her husband very much. In fact, Ann didn't like her at all. She just had to find a man.  Ann asked the woman again, do you really like her?  The lady turned and left with a standard decent smile.

This scene is actually quite interesting, these are two different choices.

This movie has a good ending in the end, but in real life, I don't know how many similar tragedies there are.

Compared with Mrs. Maisel, I like the heroine of this movie more. She really maintains her demeanor all the time. It's really cool to leave the rebellious son and the husband who refuses to repent.  Although the author has explained it in the film review, let me explain here again that it was very difficult for American women to find a job at that time, and it was not that the heroine only wanted to marry, but that the option of work never appeared.  Looking at rbg's biography, she was the most outstanding student at Harvard Law School, but the best student in the best school with the best major was just because she was a woman. Law firms all over the city refused to let her do an internship, and the professor tried her best  The judges of the court recommended her, but she was still rejected.  Later, she transferred to Columbia University and took her professor to help her get an internship at the cost of threatening to never recommend interns to the law firm.  Basically, those who are oriented to women are secretaries, typists, maids and the like.

I have always liked works about running away, and there are quite a lot of this type in Japan, such as the Japanese drama "Watermelon", Yu Aoi's "Million Dollar and the Bitter Worm Girl", "The Woman Who Takes Home and the Man Who Runs Away", Suzuki Kyoka's "So Go to the Wilderness"  "etc.  The key recommendation here is "Watermelon", which should be among the top ten works in the history of Japanese dramas.

34-year-old Kyoko Hayakawa (played by Kobayashi Komi) works in a credit bank. She and her friend and colleague Machang Wanlizi (played by Koizumi Kyoko) are the only two unmarried and unloved employees who entered the unit at the same time.  Shiraishi (played by Kayoko) is treated like a child; work is also a simple repetition day by day, and Ji Zi feels confused about such a life.

One day, Wan Lizi fled suddenly with 300 million yen. She called Jizi and told him to "live a wonderful life." Jizi burst into tears with complicated emotions. After that, she began to re-examine her life.

Jizi accidentally walked to a place called "Three Teas of Happiness", where he met his playmate Kameyama Kizuna (played by Tomosakari-e) from 20 years ago.  Ichikawa Miriri), poor and optimistic trip, and a professor with rich life experience (Asaoka Luriko) began a wonderful cohabitation life.

Kyoko Koizumi¡¯s role is not many, but she promoted a lot of plots. One day, she suddenly ran away with money without any warning. There was no reason or unspeakable secret, and she didn¡¯t want to open a shop to make money like Black Leather.  life in bondage.  Occasionally calling the only good friend, the heroine, inspired the heroine to move out of the house and start living her own life.  The plot of the whole drama is super simple, there are no bosses or suspense, just the daily life of a few women living together, I don't even remember if there is a love scene.  But it is very healing, and it is the best companion for summer meals.

I remember that many protagonists in time-travel novels liked to run away from marriage and run away from home. Why are they obedient and staying at home obediently waiting to get married now?  Please recommend some novels that the world is so big, I want to read, by the way, do you still remember the novel of Xu Xiake whose heroine inspired her to be a female version?  I remember I abandoned it for a while because the writing was too gorgeous, and then I couldn't find it anymore.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com)Do you still remember that there was an early novel about the heroine who encouraged her to become a female version of Xu Xiake?  I remember I abandoned it for a while because the writing was too gorgeous, and then I couldn't find it anymore.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
