[1] "Mingyue Tower" Zhao Mengfu. Couplets

Hearing that only one pair of couplets can be exchanged for two sets of gold tableware, Zhao Mengfu was overjoyed: "This, this is easy!"

Su Ya asked: "Do you know the famous gentleman?"

"I can come!" Zhao Mengfu took out the big chicken leg from his mouth, put it on the gold plate and said, "Can't I write a picture?"

"You?" Su Ya curled her lips.

"Why are you curling your lips! Did the little girl who played the lantern riddles just follow your example of curling her lips? Oh, her look of contempt is even worse than yours"

"It's not that I look down on you. The key is that I paid a lot of money to hire talented people from Jiangnan. Most of them came over and over again, but I didn't write a couplet that satisfied Boss Zhao."

"The point is, their surname is not Zhao! My surname is Zhao, and my boss and I belong to the same family. If he doesn't give me face, we must give our ancestors some face!"

    "How about you try it?"

    "Try it!"

Su Ya motioned to the guard Qing Hai, "Go get some pens and paper!"

Qinghai took the lead and left.

Seeing Zhao Mengfu rubbing the oil on his hands, he was ready to do it.  Su Ya smiled and said, "Don't worry, she's going to pick it up from Boss Zhao, and she won't be back for a while."

    "Don't you have this?"

"It turns out that there is, isn't it to let me be idle and have nothing to do, so I can use it for drawing!" Su Ya raised her glass, "Sit down first, and then drink a glass of wine to calm down my nervous mood"

    "Uneasy? Who is anxious?"

Su Ya said: "You! What a shame if you screw up."

Zhao Mengfu smiled, said nothing, and sat down to drink in silence.

Not long after, Qing Hai came in with a big bag of rice paper, which was as much as half a knife [50 sheets].

Zhao Mengfu smiled and said: "Why do you take so much paper, don't let me go? Do you want to keep me here forever?"

    Qing Hai also pouted.

Zhao Mengfu glanced at Qinghai, and said with a smile: "The same problem as a master and a servant!"

Su Ya and Qing Hai smiled at each other, and came to the desk at the same time, Su Ya spread out the rice paper, and Qing Hai slowly grinded the ink there.

Zhao Mengfu walked to the table, picked up a pen, dipped it in the ink, and without thinking about it, he wrote seven big characters: "Three thousand guests in Spring Breeze Langyuan."

Su Ya said: "You can't do this!"

    Zhao Mengfu asked: "Why not?"

Su Ya said: "You didn't reflect the name of the restaurant at all!"

Zhao Mengfu asked: "What's the name of his restaurant?"

    Su Ya said: "Mingyue Tower~"

"Ming-yue-lou-" Zhao Mengfu said while writing the second couplet - "the first floor of Mingyue Yangzhou."

Finally, Zhao Mengfu inscribed "Zi Ang Shu" at the bottom left of the second couplet.  I thought it was over, but he took out a handful of stamps [1] from his pocket, picked a stamp of "Zhao's Ziang" in Yangwen, and asked, "Do you have ink pad?"

Su Ya said: "How can we use that thing!" She tilted her head to tease him, "Is lipstick okay?"

    "Okay!" Zhao Mengfu laughed.

Su Ya took the seal in Zhao Mengfu's hand, rubbed it back and forth on her red lips, but stared at Zhao Mengfu with her two big eyes, suddenly felt a little pain, so she took the seal away and asked, "Why?"  ,copper?"

    Zhao Mengfu sniggered.

"Huh! Don't say a word," Su Ya said to him, "Show me, have you cut my mouth?"

"No, no!" Zhao Mengfu said, "How can such thick skin be easily scratched!"

"Who has the thickest skin and who has the thickest skin?" Su Ya's face flushed, "You say you, carve a chapter, and don't find a good copper plate. Look, the sidebar on it is deformed."

"This is because it took a long time," Zhao Mengfu told her, "Only copper seals will have such a deformation of the sidebar, and seals made of stone, ivory, jade and other materials will not have this phenomenon."

"Then why don't you be a jade?"

"I carry it with me, if I lose it, it would be a pity."

"Why do you take it with you?"

"In case, someone wants my calligraphy and painting, so that I can stamp a chapter on them."

"Why do you have to stamp a seal?"

"You have a hundred thousand 'whys'?"

"Oh, why don't you tell me!"

"You don't know, but there are many people pretending to be my calligraphy and painting of Zhao!"

    the??Stamp material

Printing materials, that is, printing blanks, are the most basic materials for seal cutting art.

Before the Song and Yuan Dynasties, most of the printed materials were made of relatively hard gold, silver, copper, jade or crystal, rhino horn, ivory, bamboo, and wood.  In the Yuan Dynasty, Wang Mian began to try to use milk stones as seals.  Due to its fine and moist texture and easy to be cut by knives, milkstone became a common material used by literati who are good at calligraphy and painting for printing.  In the Ming Dynasty, stone printing materials were more and more widely used by Indians.  The texture of stone seals is crunchy and soft, easy to cut, and different cutting methods will produce richer artistic effects than other printing materials, so it is favored by seal carvers of all ages.  Since then, the printing altar has used stone seals as the main material for engraving, and it has continued to this day.

? Among the stones used in seal governance in the past dynasties, the three most common types are Qingtian stone, Shoushan stone and Changhua stone. In addition, there are Inner Mongolia stone and Northeast stone that were introduced into the seal altar not long ago.  Due to the different places of origin, all kinds of stone seals have different textures, properties and colors, and each has its own characteristics.  A precious stone seal not only has its own value, but also has high artistic and aesthetic value, so there are many people collecting precious seal stones.

Qingtian Stone is produced in Qingtian County, Zhejiang Province, hence the name.  Qingtian stone is fine and moist, easy to be cut by knives, and has rich expressiveness of knives. It is one of the favorite printing materials for seal carvers.  Qingtian stone has blue, yellow, light red and blue gray colors, among which light jelly, white jelly and pine flower jelly are more expensive, and the top grade Fengmenqing is the most famous.

Copper seals are also commonly used materials for seals, both in ancient and contemporary times. For example, the governors of the states in the Southern Dynasties mostly used copper seals, the divisions of the Tang Dynasty and the six ministries of the Song Dynasty used copper seals, and the government, prefectures, and counties of the Qing Dynasty all used copper seals.  Compared with other printing materials, such as stone, wood, horn, ivory, plexiglass, etc., copper printing materials have the advantages of durability, strong handing down, rich forms of artistic expression, and suitable for processing.  The color of the copper printing material is solemn. It can be more detailed and hollowed out than the above printing materials. With the deep processing technology of gold, silver, gilt, chisel and other surface processing technology, the copper seal can express the royal family's eternity, durability, solemnity and dignity at a higher level.  Noble style.

    (4) Specifications for stamping of calligraphy seals

The use of seals by calligraphers and painters began with Zhao Mengfu in the Yuan Dynasty.

The seal, on the one hand, cooperates with the calligraphy and painting to form an indispensable part of the work, and on the other hand, it expresses credit. Therefore, if the calligrapher or painter does not stamp the seal, it will affect its authenticity.  Therefore, the seal is the most important element in identifying the authenticity of calligraphy and painting.

There are two types of no.1 commonly used prints by calligraphers

The first is the name and font size seal. This kind of seal is square and dignified. It is used after the name is placed. According to the space needs, a name seal can be used, and a font size seal can also be added. It is best to use one inscribed and one in relief.

The second category is idle chapters, the main content of which is an expression of the realm pursued by the author.  It can be used at the beginning of a work, called Yinshouyin or Yinshouchapter.  At the same time, it can be used in an appropriate position according to aesthetic needs. The shape of this kind of seal is relatively free, it can be long or short, and it can be accompanied by others.

    The size of no.2 stamp

The size of the seal depends on the size of the signature. Generally, the name seal is slightly equal to the signature, and must not be larger than the signature.  The first seal should not be large, and it is best to use a Yangwen seal, which looks relaxed and elegant, and is easy to integrate with the work.

    The position of no.3 seal

The seal is the last procedure for a work to be completed. If the position is right, it will be icing on the cake. If the position is not right, it will destroy the effect of the whole work.  Whether the position of the seal is appropriate depends on the height of the signature position.  When the position of the inscription is high, the name seal and the font size seal can be sealed at the same time; when the position of the inscription is low, only the name seal is sufficient.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
