    ?

The Hungry Ghost Festival, commonly known as July half and July 14th, is a major festival for Han people to worship their ancestors.

During the Yuan Dynasty, the imperial court was still very gentle to literati officials. It "could not punish a doctor" and never killed literati, and the vacation system for officials was relatively loose.  Every big festival such as the Ghost Festival, the imperial court will have a holiday[1] of five to seven days so that Han officials can go home to worship their ancestors or visit relatives.

Ji Xu originally wanted to take the two students out for fun during the festival, and created an opportunity for Qingwan and Xiuran to meet.  However, after saying all kinds of good things, Qing Wan just refuses to meet Xiu Ran, and is determined to break up with Xiu Ran.  Helpless, Ji Xu had to go to Zhao's house to tell Xiuran the bad news.  However, at the time of Zhongyuan, every family worshiped their ancestors, how could an outsider visit someone else's house?

After lunch, Ji Xu, who was restless, took out his white horse and strolled on the road alone.

[1] "Autumn Ci" by Liu Yuxi. Poem

Ji Xu wondered as he walked, how should he open his mouth to Xiuran?

It is said that autumn is the harvest season, but Zhao Xiuran waited for a whole summer, but got nothing.  The autumn wind is rustling, and the leaves are falling. That annoying autumn wind makes people feel the desolation of the world.

Autumn, why is it so lonely?

It drowns out the voices of all creatures and creatures, and there is no hustle and bustle of other seasons.  Quietly, let everything fall into a "dead" situation.

Ji Xu walked very slowly. In order to cheer himself up, he sang "Autumn Ci":

"Since ancient times, every autumn has been sad and lonely,

    I say autumn is better than spring;

In the clear sky, a crane floats above the clouds,

Then lead the poetry to Bixiao.  "

As soon as the voice fell, there was a rush of horseshoes "cracking", and he overtook himself in a short time.

This is a luxurious official car. After walking a few steps, the official car stopped, the curtain was lifted, and an old man's head stretched out and called his name.

Ji Xu looked up, but it turned out to be his old mentor, the second-rank doctor of Zhongfeng and Bachelor of Attendance, Jiexisi.  Ji Xu quickly got off his horse, walked quickly to the side of the car, and bowed to say hello.

Jiemusi stroked his beard and asked with a smile, "Where are you going?"

Ji Xu stood up straight and responded, "To a friend's house, where is the teacher going?"

Jiexusi said, "Go to my nephew's house."

Ji Xu knew in his heart that Jie Xunsi was Zhao Xiuran's uncle, so he said, "Since the teacher is visiting his in-laws, it is inconvenient for the students to disturb him, so I respectfully send the teacher first."

But Jiemusi did not leave, and asked again: "Who is Ji Sheng's friend in this suburban cottage?"

Ji Xu replied: "Zhao Xiuran, a student of Guozixue [2]."

    "He~"

"Teacher, do you know it too?"

"Haha, this life is the old man's nephew." Jiexisi laughed, "Since we are traveling together, why doesn't Ji Sheng get in the old man's car, and we can chat while walking?"

Ji Xu didn't dare to get into the teacher's official car, and said: "Students follow along all the way."

Jiemusi said: "You can't let the old man lift the curtain of the car all the way and talk to you with his head tilted! Wouldn't the old man be exhausted?"

Ji Xu smiled and said, "Student obeys." He tied his horse's rein to the rear of the car, and then jumped into the official car.

After seeing Ji Xu sat down, Jiexi asked curiously: "How did you meet Xiuran?"

Ji Xu said: "Last year in Jiazi Zhengke, brother Xiuran and I hit it off at the Gong Yuan."

"That's right, Xiuran has been weird since he was a child, it's strange to have a friend like you."

Ji Xu teased him: "Is the student weird?"

Jiemusi said: "It's not Ji Shengwei, it's my nephew. He lost his mother since he was a child, and his temper has become withdrawn and indifferent. He doesn't like to talk to others, let alone have heart-to-heart communication with others.  After losing in the examination last year, his personality has become more and more unhappy. Ji Sheng has a cheerful personality, if he can untangle Xiuran's heart knot, it will be a piece of mind for the old man."

Ji Xu replied: "Students must do their best."

The conversation along the way was very refreshing, and the distance seemed to be shortened a lot. Soon, the carriage arrived at Zhao's house.

Jie Xisi originally wanted to bring Ji Xu in, but Ji Xu said: "Today is the Ghost Festival, and it is inconvenient for students to enter the mansion. Please ask the teacher to let Brother Xiuran come out. I will accompany him to enjoy the lotus."

Jiexisi nodded in approval, and walked into the gate of Zhao's house with a smile.

After a while, Xiuran came out.  Ji Xu pulled Xiuran aside, and Qing Wanbsp; For example, if the parents are away from home, the imperial court stipulates that they can go home to see their parents every three years; it takes three years for Ding You to die when his parents die.

    (5) Ming and Qing Dynasties

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, vacation benefits like those in the Song Dynasty were severely reduced, and the "ten-week holiday" system was gradually reduced or even cancelled. Only three holidays were reserved throughout the year, namely the Chinese New Year, the Winter Solstice, and the emperor's birthday.

Specifically: 1. 3 days off per month; New Year's Day, Lantern Festival, Zhongyuan (July 15th in the lunar calendar), Winter Solstice, and other festivals have a total of 18 days off, and you can rest for more than 50 days a year.

? During the Ming and Qing dynasties, there was a rather special rule: parents had to observe filial piety for three years on their funeral leave, no matter how high an official you were, especially in the Ming Dynasty.  Parents' bereavement leave was indeed mandatory at the time. Zhang Juzheng went to Dingyou because of his father's death, but he hurried back after only three months, because after leaving for a long time, he might lose his foothold in the workplace.  .

    [2] Guozixue

Guozixue was the educational management institution and the highest institution of learning in China's feudal era.

It was established in the second year of Xianning, Emperor Wu of Jin Dynasty (AD 276), and stood side by side with Taixue.  During the Northern and Southern Dynasties, either Guozixue, Taixue, or both were established.  The Northern Qi Dynasty changed its name to Guozi Temple.  During the reign of Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty, Guozi Temple was in charge of Guozi, Taixue, Simen and other schools.  During Emperor Yangdi's reign, Guozi Temple was changed to Guozijian.  In the Tang and Song Dynasties, Guozijian was also used to govern Guozi, Taixue, Simen and other schools.  In the Yuan Dynasty, Guozixue, Mongolian Guozixue, and Huihui Guozixue were set up, also called Guozijian respectively.  In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, only Guozijian was set up as an educational management institution, which also had the nature of Guozixue.  In 1905 (the 31st year of Guangxu), the Ministry of Education was established, and the Imperial College was abolished.  Although the names of Guozixue (Guozisi, Guozijian) and Taixue are different, and the system has also changed in the past dynasties, they are both the highest institutions of learning.  But when the two are established together, the educational objects of Guozixue belong to the children of higher rulers.

Guozixue generally has five doctors, who are on the fifth rank; five teaching assistants, from the sixth rank, who are in charge of doctors and divided into professors of classics;  Guozixue generally recruits the descendants of the Duke of the State, officials of the third rank and above, and the great-grandchildren of the second rank and above as students for training.

During the Ming Dynasty, the double-Beijing system was exercised, and Guozijian, namely Guozixue, was set up in Nanjing and Beijing respectively.  The Guozijian in Nanjing is called "Southern Jian" or "Nanyong", while the Guozijian in Beijing is called "Beijian" or "Beiyong".  Nanjing Guozijian was first built in the first year of Yong'an in the Eastern Wu Dynasty (258 A.D.).  International students study in Nanjing Guozijian.  Beijing Guozijian was founded in the 10th year of Dade in the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1306). It is the highest administrative organ of the state management education and the highest institution established by the state in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
