    Du Shiniang picked two smaller ones by hand.The reason why ?? can be so vast is because it knows how to accommodate countless rivers.  The reason why the earth is so vast and boundless is because it knows how to accommodate all things, hide dirt and nourish all things.  Therefore, people should learn from the sea and the earth, learn their virtue of tolerance, and only by being tolerant can they achieve greatness.

    Just as it is said in "Caigen Tan": "I am a great smelter, so why do I have to suffer from the inmeltability of stubborn gold and blunt iron. I am a giant ocean and Yangtze River, so why should I suffer from cross-currents and pollution that cannot be accommodated."  The more people or things you tolerate, and the bigger your mind and pattern, the more powerful you can become.  Only when your heart can tolerate people in the world can you be tolerated by people in the world.  How big the heart is, how big the stage is!

    Being able to tolerate others is "forgiveness", and there is nothing greater than forgiveness, so the virtue of tolerance is the foundation of goodness and the foundation of great virtue.

    Confucius said: "If you want to be established, you will establish others; if you want to achieve yourself, you will achieve others." That is, if you want to stand firm, you must also let others stand firm; if you want to thrive, you must also let others flourish.  Zeng Guofan also said: "If I want to stand firm at every step, I must know that others must also stand firm. This is called standing. If I want to be able to do everything well, I must know that others must also be able to do so. This is called Dao."

    The above two sentences are the core of the Confucian thought of benevolence, and Confucius and Zeng Guofan also achieved the "big benevolence" that can tolerate others. In the end, the benevolent is invincible and became eternal saints.  Therefore, the more a person can cultivate the "virtue of tolerance", the more he can be virtuous, and the blessings will be deeper.

    (2) Virtue of selflessness

    Ordinary people are more or less selfish, but the sage loves selflessness and has reached the state of selflessness and selflessness, so he can become a sage.  They are selfless and love all living beings, so they are deeply loved by the people, and then they have achieved great virtue.

    Fan Zhongyan said: "Worry about the world's worries first, and enjoy the world's joys later." Lin Zexu also said: "If the country lives and dies for the benefit of the world, why not avoid it because of misfortunes and blessings?" They all put the interests of the country and the nation first.  The first is to worry about and struggle for the future and destiny of the motherland, and to contribute to the happiness of the people in the world. Firstly, it expresses lofty political ambitions, and secondly, it expresses a broad mind¡ªthe virtue of selflessness.

    The ancients said: "If you stand on a wall, you can be strong without desire." A person thinks less about himself and more about others or external things, so that he can gain more respect and recognition from others, and then use his virtue to carry everything.

    For example, Zeng Guofan vowed not to leave money to his descendants, and Lin Zexu also said: "If your descendants are like me, what to do with money, if they are virtuous and rich, it will damage their aspirations;  Make it worse."  It is all because they are selfless and dedicated to the public, they have truly practiced the "virtue of selflessness", and finally achieved extraordinary achievements with virtue.

    (3) The virtue of humility

    The "Tao Te Ching" says: "The highest goodness is like water. Water benefits all things without fighting. It is evil to everyone, so it is more than Tao." Water is good at nourishing all things and not competing with all things. It stays in places that people don't like, so it is the best  Close to "Tao".  Therefore, people should also learn "water virtues" - humility, low-key, non-competition, and carrying things with virtue, on the contrary, they can always win in "non-competition".

    The reason why the sea is vast and boundless is because it is good at dealing with people and has the virtue of humility, so it can gather thousands of rivers and become the king of a hundred valleys.  If a sage wants to lead the people, he must show humility to the people in words; if he wants to lead the people, he must put his own interests behind the people.

    The low water is the sea, and the low man is the king!  Once people are proud and self-righteous, they will stop making progress, and even ruin their existing blessings, because the way of heaven is full of taboos, because "all the talented people in the world, ancient and modern, are all defeated by arrogance."  On the contrary, when you often have an empty cup mentality, you can accumulate more good fortune with an open mind.

    Zeng Guofan warned his family in a letter at home: "In the world, humility is the only way to carry blessings. When you are arrogant, you will be full, and if you are full, you will be overwhelmed!

    Lao Tzu's "Tao Te Ching" said: "A sage with the right way retreats modestly and does not fight, but can take the lead among the crowd."

    "The Book of Changes" says: "The way of heaven is full and modest;

    "Shangshu" said: "Fullness suffers losses, modesty benefits."
