    ?

Ji Xu and Zhang Jin are going back to school tomorrow, so today they rushed to Yu Rong's house to bid farewell with Young Master Zhou, Du Shiniang and others.

    [1] "Tibi" Anonymous

The sale of land by the Baita Bridge,

    The long pavilion and the short post are very distinct;

How to only talk about Lin'an Road,

Not counting the distance to Zhongyuan?

They rented four sedan chairs and headed south, passing the White Pagoda.

At the wharf by the river, there was a lot of hawking on the street, and suddenly I heard someone selling "Dijing" [traffic map].  Ji Xu stopped the bearers and planned to buy one as a souvenir.

The White Pagoda was built at the end of Wuyue in the Five Dynasties. It is the landmark of the ancient Qiantang River for navigation of ships and the symbol of the canal flowing into the Qiantang River.  As early as the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the vicinity of the White Tower has become a port for foreign people to enter Hangzhou from the Qiantang River, where merchants gather and traffic is busy.

Zhang Jin and the others also got off the sedan chair with Ji Xu, and they wandered along the street, looking for something they liked.

Suddenly, Zhang Jin's startled breath attracted everyone, and they all gathered in Zhang Jin's direction, wanting to see what happened.

I saw that Wang Qiaoer was standing on the street of Caoshi, still wearing the fancy clothes from before, but with three more thatch on her head.  Zhang Jin knew that this was a sign of Han people selling themselves, and he also knew that three grasses meant that they were sold at a high price[1].

Seeing that it was Ji Xu and the others, Qiaoer's father, Wang Jingxian, hurriedly lowered his head in shame.

Wang Qiaoer was very happy to see the buyer, but she was a little "uncomfortable" all over her body, like a little monkey scratching her body.  Zhang Jin thought to himself: Why, is she possessed by Monkey Sun?

Seeing Du Shiniang walking towards her, Qiaoer shouted excitedly: "Sister, sister, buy me!"

Du Shiniang asked: "Aren't you good at singing, why are you selling yourself again?"

"My mother is gone, and I want to sell myself to bury my mother." Qiaoer said, tears streaming down her face.

Du Shiniang asked: "A few days ago, you were still healthy, why did you just leave?"

Wang Jingxian sighed and said: "It's a pity that my poor wife suffered from an emergency and died three days ago. The sudden incident made Xiao Ke panic. The weather is hot and he must be buried immediately. Xiao Ke has no other choice but to sell his son to bury his wife  "

Ji Xu said: "It doesn't cost much to bury your dead wife, we just make up for you, why do you have to sell your own flesh and blood!"

Wang Jingxian sighed: "To tell you the truth, Xiao Ke also borrowed part of the usury loan, and they stopped Xiao Ke every day to urge him to ask for it. Xiao Ke really has no choice but to"

When Ji Xu heard that it was a usury loan, he knew it must not be a small sum, so he didn't dare to ask any further.

Du Shiniang asked: "You Qiaoer, how much silver do you want to sell?"

Wang Jingxian said: "Thirty taels of silver."

Zhou Dayi heard the scolding: "You are poor and crazy! How much is it to buy a mule? You ask for thirty taels of silver, is she worth it?!"

Wang Jingxian didn't dare to speak, but just pulled out another weed from Qiao'er's head.

Zhou Da said: "It's still expensive!"

Wang Jingxian pulled out another one.

Zhou Dao: "If you buy a six or seven-year-old girl, you can buy it for five taels of silver at most How about it, will you sell it for five taels?"

Wang Jingxian said: "Five taels is not enough. My Qiaoer is proficient in all kinds of piano, chess, calligraphy and painting. When I arrive at the brothel, I don't need to spend any more on training"

Ji Xu said: "Oh, you are really capable, and you still want to sell your daughter into a brothel?"

But Wang Jingxian said: "My son is a talented woman, it would be a pity to sell it to ordinary people!"

Ji Xu said: "You, you are a father in vain."

Du Shiniang went over to touch Qiaoer's little face, but Qiaoer avoided it and said, "No money, no touch."

Zhou Da said: "When you buy an animal, you are asked to look at the mouth first, but you are not allowed to touch it"

Du Shiniang said: "Uncle Zhou, pay for it!"

Zhou Da was taken aback for a moment, and said, "I don't lack maids, I don't want them."

Du Shiniang smiled and said, "I'll ask you to buy it for me."

    Zhou Da asked: "By, why?"

Du Shiniang smiled and said, "I will watch the moon with you tonight and drink flower wine with you~"

When Zhou Da heard it, he said happily: "Okay, okay, okay! You're sure, don't lie to me again."

Zhou Da quickly took out ten taels of silver and gave it to Wang Jingxian. Du Shiniang wanted to go to get Qiaoer, but Qiaoer avoided her on purpose.

Ten Niang wondered: "Why are you hiding from me? Aren't you coming in the sedan chair?"

Qiao'er said, "I'm Miss's servant, how can I ride with her?"?Take it home!

Over time, the people who are poorer than them have no choice but to put their fresh lives on straw marks when they encounter difficult things-either the beautiful girls are betrayed by themselves, or the people who have not enough food and clothing  People sell their sons and daughters.  When they put up grass marks, it means that their own or their children's lives are worthless, and they can take them away at a very low price.

This kind of plot was later extended to the story of "inserting the label and selling the head". It was first in the novel "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms".  In The Encirclement, Guan Yu temporarily surrendered to Cao Cao and followed him to Hebei. When he saw the majestic Yan Liang, Guan Yu said to Cao Cao with pride: "I look at Yan Liang as if I sell the first ear!"

The meaning here is that Guan Yu is confident that Yan Liang is not his opponent. Fighting against him is like putting a straw bid on his head. There is no suspense, just selling his life.

Guan Yu was at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. At that time, the seller did not use a draft bid, not even for selling things.  Luo Guanzhong, the author of "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms", based on his own time at the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, and according to his customs and habits at that time, he fabricated this episode, so there is no record in the official history.

Therefore, selling oneself in ancient times did not write a lot of advertisements, but just a straw, which rashly decided the life of the poor people.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
