    [1] "Mencius Chapters and Sentences" Zhao Qi. Commentary

    There are three things about unfilial persons in etiquette:

    It is called Ayi Qucong,

    Trapping relatives is unrighteous, and one is not filial;

    The family is poor, the relatives are old, and they are not paid officials, and the second is not filial;

    Do not marry and have no children, and never sacrifice to ancestors. These three are also unfilial.

    It snowed all night.  Because of the heavy snow, Su Xiaoya couldn't go out to buy new year's goods, and she couldn't even send her younger brother to the prison for breastfeeding. She couldn't help it, so she asked Wan'er to make some rice soup to feed her younger brother.

    Su Xiaoya was sitting in the room staring at the heavy snow outside in a daze.

    She was very anxious: the Chinese New Year is coming soon, why hasn't my mother come back yet?  Didn't it mean that mother will be released soon!  It has been five days, why is there no sign of my mother, Master Ye can't be fooling us!  ?

    Su Xiaoya sat for a while, then rummaged through boxes and chests to find a fur cloak to put on for herself, and hurried out of the house.

    Ba Shouzi shook his head.

    Ye Qi said: "The number one unfilial thing is¡ª¡ªA Yi Qu Cong, trapping relatives is unrighteous, one unfilial." Seeing that Ba Shouzi didn't understand, he explained, "The meaning of this sentence is that, obviously, parents have  Wrong, but unprincipled obedience, not pointing out the mistakes of parents, trapping parents in unrighteousness, and letting parents leave a bad name, this is the first unfilial."

    Ba Shouzi became anxious when he heard this: "Hey, hey, Mr. Ye, how could this be my fault? Besides, my father was the victim, so why did he leave a bad name?"

    Ye Qi pulled his face and scolded: "You rebellious son, why is it not your fault? Knowing that my father is getting old, you still let him miss Liuxiang! Silly boy, you don't go to visit Tanhuaxiang  , Your old father, did he leave a bad name there"

    Ba Shouzi said disdainfully: "Men, it's not common to go to a brothel. What kind of bad reputation will be left behind? Don't literati often go there, and I haven't heard of any bad reputation."

    "Literati often go there, but is there anyone like your father!"

    "What's the matter with my father?"

    "Heh~, what's the matter? He is binding and hanging again; he is burning with wax, or biting How exciting is it! You say you, you, your father, is he still human? Like  People of my age, I can't stand listening to it! What's more, your father, who is quite old, wants to be brave, ride a horse and hold a whip, and gallop across the field of fireworks. Isn't he looking for death"

    Ba Shouzi was fidgeting because of what Ye Qi said, and his face turned red and white for a while.  But he was still fighting for it, and said: "Then, then, my father died for nothing?"

    Ye Qi asked: "Then what do you want?"

    Ba Shouzi said viciously: "Anyway, it's the little girl Tan Siting [Yu Rong's stage name], her face that was fucked caused trouble, and that's why my old father died" He raised his head and looked  Looking at Ye Qi, he said cautiously, "Destroy her face I'll forget it Finish this matter"

    Hearing what Ba Shouzi said, thinking of Yu Rong's charming face, how could Ye Qi be willing to destroy it?.  Among these three acts of unfilial piety, "DINK" is the greatest unfilial act.

    Regarding these two statements, it is true that the wise see the wise and the benevolent see benevolence!

    As a great Confucian of the generation, Mencius has a relatively complete ideological system. He explained and defined the five kinds of unfilial behavior in "Li Lou Zhang Ju Xia" before. It is impossible to change again and again. Isn't that a slap in the face?  ?  And Zhao Qi's interpretation of Mencius's chapters and sentences is not the original restoration, but some of his own thoughts have been added, which makes people ambiguous about some of Mencius' remarks.  The reason why there are different sayings is that there are ambiguities in what Mencius said.

    This passage is Mencius' comment on Shun's marriage because he didn't tell his parents.

    It is recorded in "Mencius. Li Loushang": According to the legend, Emperor Shun's parents were not virtuous, which caused Emperor Shun to never marry a wife. In the end, Emperor Shun had to marry his wife without telling his parents.  Mencius then commented: "There are three kinds of unfilial piety, and having no heirs is the greatest. Shun married without telling, and he had no heirs. A gentleman thinks he still has to sue."

    It can be seen that Mencius' evaluation was only aimed at Shun's behavior at that time, and he was referring specifically, not to everyone.  Because Shun was the leader of an alliance, heirs played a vital role in both the family and the tribe.  Mencius at that time only said that it is great to have no descendants, but did not say what the other two kinds of unfilial piety were.

    One explanation is: Yu Shun once married a daughter-in-law without consulting his parents. This is not what a gentleman does, it is an act of unfilial piety.

    Another explanation is: Yu Shun married a wife without the consent of his parents. He wanted to avoid having no descendants. Although it was unreasonable (Confucianism advocated the orders of parents and the words of matchmakers), a gentleman could forgive him for this behavior.  "Yet tell you" can be understood as equivalent to telling your parents.
