    chapter 27

This rest stop will be located in the middle of Yuncheng City and Xuan'an Town, with a distance of tens of kilometers to the front and back.  Ruan Nianchu's current state is already very bad, and there is no further delay.

Li Teng pursed his lips, and called Aunt Xia, saying that Ruan Nianchu had a fever today and couldn't go to teach Xiaoxing.  After hearing this, Aunt Xia asked Li Teng to take good care of Ruan Nianchu.

After hanging up the phone, he thought for a moment, turned off the car, got out of the car, and then went around to the passenger side and opened the door.

The girl closed her eyes, her thin eyebrows were tightly knitted, her breathing was a little short, and her consciousness was blurred.  He bent down and hugged her up.  The slight jolt made her mutter something, her voice soft and soft, like a kitten.

    He didn't hear clearly.

She seemed to be suffering, and rubbed her cheek against his chest, trying to wake up, but failed.

A small hotel was opened in the rest stop, which is specially for travelers or truck drivers who travel at night. The four-storey building has mottled walls.  There is a sign at the door: Accommodation starts at 80 yuan.

Li Teng walked in and temporarily put Ruan Nianchu on the sofa on the first floor.

Standing at the front desk was a woman in her thirties, wearing a low-cut dress with white breasts, she should be the proprietress of this hotel.  She was knocking melon seeds while watching a TV series, when she heard the noise, she raised her head, saw Li Teng, and immediately greeted with a grin, "Do you want to stay?"

Li Teng nodded expressionlessly: "I want a room."

"Single room is 100, with air conditioner and TV." The proprietress said, "Give me your ID card and register."

Li Teng put his ID card on the table, pushed it over, and saw a small blackboard hanging on the wall next to the front desk, which read: Selling food, some commonly used medicines and family planning supplies.

He said, "Do you sell antipyretics here?"

"No, I only sell Huoxiangzhengqi liquid and motion sickness medicine here." The proprietress answered and glanced at Ruan Nianchu who was on the sofa. She leaned over and asked in a low voice, "Hey, is your girlfriend feeling unwell?"

Li Teng did not answer, and continued: "Then is there a pharmacy near here?"

"There is no pharmacy nearby." The proprietress threw the melon seed husk on the ground and raised her eyebrows, "But my family has it. If you want it, I can give it to you for free."

At this time, a woman wearing sunglasses walked into the hotel. When she passed the sofa, she glanced at Ruan Nianchu who was lying on it, and then looked around.

The proprietress smiled and closed her eyes again: "Are you staying at the hotel?"

But the woman in sunglasses seemed dissatisfied with the poor environment here, and soon left the hotel and drove away.

    "Cut." The proprietress pouted.

Li Teng didn't pay much attention to the woman, and said to the proprietress in a cold tone, "Thanks."

"Thank you." The proprietress waved her hands and giggled, then turned around, raised the curtain and entered the back room.  A few minutes later, she came out with a box of ibuprofen and handed it to Li Teng, "Here, handsome guy."

Li Teng reached out to take it, took one from the medicine box, and returned the rest to the woman, "One is enough."

"Oh, it's just a box of ibuprofen, why is the handsome guy so polite to me." The woman twisted her posture and deliberately hit him. Suddenly, the smell of inferior perfume came over her face, which was so strong that it was pungent.

Li Teng frowned imperceptibly, grabbed her wrist with his backhand, and twisted it vigorously.

"Hey, it hurts!" The woman screamed in pain.

Li Teng shook her hand away.

"Really" The proprietress said angrily, "What are you doing, it hurts me to death."

Li Teng was impatient, "Which room?"

"302 on the third floor." The proprietress rubbed her red and swollen wrist, threw a key over, and said angrily, "You must check out before 12 o'clock tomorrow, and you will need to pay extra!"

Li Teng picked up Ruan Nianchu and went upstairs.

The hotel room is moderately furnished with a bed, a bedside table, a desk, a TV, and an air conditioner. It's clean, but everything is old.

Li Teng put Ruan Nianchu on the bed as lightly and gently as possible.

The temperature on her body was getting higher and higher, and the knots on her brows were getting tighter and tighter. She turned over and lay on her side, with her hands and legs curled up unconsciously, like a cooked shrimp.

He took the fever-reducing medicine in one hand, and passed it behind her shoulders and neck with the other, hugged her tightly, lifted her up, and half-knelt on the edge of the bed with her right leg.  Then she called her name: "Ruan Nianchu."

"" After a while, Ruan Nianchu's eyelids opened with difficulty, "Huh?"

Li Teng looked down at her in his arms, ""It's all right, thank you Captain Li for your concern." Ruan Nianchu's tone of reply was really not good.  She got out of bed and was about to go out to see where this was.

Unexpectedly, the movement was too violent, and my mind became dizzy again.  Ruan Nianchu quickly supported the wall next to him.

Li Teng rushed over in two steps, pinched her arm, and said in a serious tone: "Lie back. Do you know what kind of virtue you burned this afternoon?"

"" Ruan Nianchu lowered his head and said nothing, moved his arms and broke away.

Li Teng's hands froze in the air.

She raised her eyes, looked around, and asked feebly, "Where is this place?"

Li Teng withdrew his hand, and his face returned to his usual indifference: "A hotel with a rest stop."

Ruan Nianchu frowned, "I want to go home."

"No." He walked out of the room, playing with the lighter in his hand, and said, "Rest one more night, and I will take you back at dawn tomorrow."

"No." She returned the original words.  This room is not big, and there is only one bed, how could she share the same room with him.

Li Teng paused, turned his head and raised his eyelids, "Why not?"

Ruan Nianchu was silent for a few seconds, and replied honestly: "I don't want to stay with you."

    Then Li Teng fell silent.

After a while, he snorted lightly, lit a cigarette, and said softly, "Ruan Nianchu, do you think I want to take advantage of you all day long?"

"" She was stuck abruptly and remained silent.

"My room is next to yours." Li Teng said without a tone, and turned to leave, "Call if you have something to do. The sound insulation here is poor, so I can hear you."

As soon as he walked into the corridor, there was a sound of footsteps behind him.

Li Teng stood still without looking back, "Is there anything else?"

Ruan Nianchu lowered his head and bit his lips, took a deep breath, let it out, and then raised his head: "That afternoon outside the western restaurant, you told me, you have someone you like. Li Teng, who is that person?"

The cigarette holder was instantly bitten to pieces.

With a blank expression on his face, he slowly clenched his fists with his hands in his trouser pockets, and said calmly, "It's getting late, go back to sleep."

Ruan Nianchu gritted his teeth and took a step forward, "Who is that person" Before he could finish speaking, Li Teng's eyes froze, and he said coldly, "Be careful!"

She froze, not knowing why, but someone else rushed over fiercely, pulled her down and protected her tightly.

Ruan Nianchu turned his eyes in surprise.

Where they were standing just now, there was already an empty bullet casing.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
