    chapter 08

It should be talking nonsense.  This was Ruan Nianchu's first thought after hearing Li Teng's words.

After a few days of contact, she could see that he was a quiet person. She didn't think that her smile could be so beautiful that an iceberg would praise her.  What's more, she never seemed to smile at him.

Did she smile just now?  Can not remember.

Ruan Nianchu was wiping Li Teng's arm while recalling seriously. She was thinking about asking Li Teng something, but when she looked up, he had frowned deeply and was breathing evenly, falling asleep.

    Her movements subconsciously became softer.

After wiping, she washed the towel again, wrung it half dry, carefully applied it to his forehead, and finally covered him with a quilt.  Just after finishing all this, a burst of footsteps came from outside the house.

Ruan Nianchu turned around and saw that it was Ah Xin's mother-in-law.

Holding a cup of hot water and a white capsule in her hand, the mother-in-law said in Khmer, "I remember I still had some antipyretics in my room. After searching for a long time, I finally found them."  Handed it to her, "Quick, feed it to him."

Ruan Nianchu probably guessed what she meant, took the antipyretics, said "thank you" in Khmer, and then made a few gestures with Grandma Ah Xin, saying, "It's late. Grandma, you go back to sleep first  Bar."

The mother-in-law hesitated for a while, and then nodded, pointing to the sleeping Li Teng, and then pointing to the direction of her own room.

Ruan Nianchu smiled at her, "Understood. If there is anything, I will ask you for help."

Granny Ah Xin then turned and left.

?The footsteps faded away, Ruan Nianchu closed the door, returned to the bed with antipyretics, pushed the person on the bed, and shouted in a low voice: "Wake up, wake up."

Li Teng was in a half-dream and half-awake right now, with a splitting headache, brows furrowed tightly, and it took a long while before he slowly opened his eyes.  A small and clean face came into view, with fair skin, delicate outline, big dark eyes, light pink lips, a typical appearance of a southern girl.

He didn't say anything, just stared at her, his bloodshot eyes filled with impatience and indifference.

Ruan Nianchu said: "Grandma Ah Xin found you antipyretics, take the medicines and then sleep."

"" Li Teng looked down, glanced at the hot water cup and the pills in her hand, fell silent, tried to sit up with his hands back, his jaw tensed.  Ruan Nianchu saw that the wound on his abdomen was about to open again, she frowned, put down the water glass and medicine, supported his arm, and lifted it up vigorously.

Li Teng glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, "Give me the medicine"

Ruan Nianchu followed suit.  He took it, threw the pill into his mouth, and took the water glass from her hand, tilted his neck, and rolled his protruding Adam's apple up and down.  In just a few seconds, the hot water cup bottomed out.

Then he closed his eyes and lay back on the bed, water droplets flowed down his Adam's apple to his collarbone.  She saw it and went to wipe him with a towel.

The soft little hands brushed over the hot skin unintentionally, as if the feathers were fluffing, it was cool and a little itchy.  Li Teng frowned even tighter, endured for a while, and finally had to say again, "Don't touch me." His voice was terribly hoarse.

"" Ruan Nianchu was stunned for a moment, and his movements stopped suddenly.

He closed his eyes and remained silent for a while, then said, "I need to rest. I can't sleep if you're like this."

"Oh. I'm sorry." She reacted for a few seconds, understood, put back the towel in embarrassment, smiled dryly, and muttered to herself, "It's my first time taking care of people, so I don't have much experience."

For the latter sentence, Ruan Nianchu thought he said it very quietly, but who knows, Li Teng still heard it.

He snorted very lightly, "No wonder."

From these two words, she heard a hint of sarcasm, and couldn't help holding back her anger, "Why, compared to the person who took care of you before, is it far behind?" This person probably doesn't understand what it means to be grateful  .

    Li Teng said, "Yes."

At this moment, she felt that she must have had enough to take care of him.

Ruan Nianchu rolled his eyes, put the towel on his forehead again, and just satirized, "Have you ever had girlfriends?"

His breath was heavy, became flat, and his voice was low and inaudible, "My mother."

    ""

Ruan Nianchu stood in the room for a while, then turned around, dragged a chair to the side of the bed, bent over, sat down, and rested his chin on one hand.  Li Teng closed his eyes, his thick and long eyelashes were black.  Probably the antipyretics had taken effect, the knot between his brows stretched a bit more than before, not as cold and scary as usual.

It's still more popular to be sick.  She thought wickedly.

?The wind blew up outside the window, blowing away the clouds in the sky, the shallow moonlight shone on the winding river, and the sound of waterWhat a savage.

Li Teng deserved to be careless, "I was used to being alone before. I'm sorry."

This sentence sounds very ambiguous.  But the demeanor in which he said this was cold and calm, and there was really no way for people to have any associations.  Ruan Nianchu stroked his forehead.

Then I heard a question from the side: "What do you think is a good person and what is a bad person."

Ruan Nianchu thought for a while, and replied: "A good person is kind-hearted, and a bad person is cruel."

    Li Teng smiled.

She pursed her lips, "What are you laughing at?"

He stood with his back against the wall, lit a cigarette and put it in his mouth, took out the umbrella knife and a lock of sandpaper that he carried with him, and polished it one by one, squinting his eyes, "Ah Xin has killed people too."

"" Ruan Nianchu's eyes suddenly jumped.

"The person who was killed ruined Ah Xin's daughter. That daughter was about to get married, and she jumped into the river on the third day after the accident." Li Teng's tone was very light, and he raised his eyelids to look at her, "Sometimes right and wrong  Good and evil are not so clear. Some people do bad things because they can't help themselves."

After speaking, the room fell into silence for a few seconds.

She looked at him fixedly, and suddenly asked: "Then you too."

"" Li Teng suddenly stopped sharpening his knife, looked sideways at her, his eyes were sharp and judgmental, as if he could see through the bottom of people's hearts.

Ruan Nianchu didn't dodge or dodge, and he confronted him with a bold face.

After half a moment, he looked away and continued to sharpen the knife in his hand. Suddenly, he bent his lips and smiled inexplicably, "Looking at the information on your passport, it seems that you have just turned nineteen. Little girl, wait until someday to go out."  Now, forget everything here. Great youth, don't leave too deep a shadow."

go out?  She's dreaming about it, but can she really do it?  Ruan Nianchu's eyes dimmed, he shrugged, and his tone was heavy with self-deprecation, "I hope, with your good words, there will be a day when I can go out."

Li Teng lowered his eyes, and scraped the sharp blade with his fingers.

There was only silence in the room.

At that time, for some reason, Ruan Nianchu vaguely felt that something was about to happen.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
