"Half Nelson" was picked up by Ye Wei at the Sundance Film Festival at the beginning of the year and bought out at a high price, and then got the opportunity to be co-distributed by ifc/cliff.

With the cliff-hanging 1 million promotion fee, producer James Patricoff, creators Ryan Fleck and Anna Burton took hn to many film festivals for more than half a year and received a list of awards.  Nominations and award-winning honors; a critic screening was recently held, and by the time it was released on September 15, hn was already a classic recognized by critics.

Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times gave a perfect score of 5/5: "Director Ryan Fleck uses shamelessness, restraint and psychological acuity, and Ryan Gosling uses a leadership performance to bring a character to life.  This classic American independent film takes a timeworn theme and delivers it in a compelling new way."

Richard Rope of "Albert and Rope" urged with 3.5/4 points: "You have to go to the cinema, but please make sure to see this movie." James of "The Hollywood Reporter"  - Greenberg gave a 3.5/4 rating: "Ryan Gosling's performance illustrates that he is a professional talent and one of the best young actors." Manola Dagui of The New York Times  With a score of 4/5, Si sighed: "hn is a rare miracle. An American fictional film actually has a political heart."

"Entertainment Weekly", "Salon", "USA Today", "San Francisco Chronicle", "Toronto Star", "Chicago Sun", "Washington Post" 36 media in mainstream film reviews gave praise or even high praise  Only two semi-gossip media outlets, the Newark Star-Chronicle and the New York Post, gave it a 2/4 rating.

hn¡¯s Rotten Tomatoes freshness rating is as high as 95%, the audience¡¯s love rating is 83%, and imdb-7.5 points.

Film critics love this film more than ordinary art audiences, and they also praise filmmakers such as the Flecks for making such a good film with a production cost of 700,000. It and they both deserve this term, better than "Napoleon"  , "Wedding Day is Coming" should still be worthy of it.

Because its artistry is rare among micro-independent films, it has become a dark horse that cannot be ignored in the 2006-07 awards season. It is expected to be nominated for Oscars for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Director.  Not to mention the Best Actor nomination, Ryan Gosling seems to have already booked a spot.

It depends on whether hn can collect a certain amount of box office and further increase its influence; it also gives ifc the determination to invest in publicity and public relations fees for winning awards, in order to make some profits from TV broadcasts, DVDs and other peripherals, and improve its own brand  value.

There is no dispute that hn is a good movie. Before and after Ye Wei bought it, no critics ever said it was a bad movie.

The problem is that executives from Think Pictures, Miramax, Focus, Weinstein Pictures, Freestyle Distribution and other companies did not expect it to be so good. They all believed that the business was not worth 1.5 million, and they openly and secretly ridiculed Ye Wei.  After being taken advantage of, he made a willful and frivolous joke when he went to Sundance for the first time to do movie spot trading.

Who is the joke?  Industry media have been waiting to see the excitement.

The Jury Prize - Drama Film "Coming of Ages", which was bought by Sony Classics for a large amount of money, was very dismal (1.6 million North American box office), and the World Film Section - Drama "Million Game" was even more dismal (120,000 North American box office).  "Shirley's Baby" and "A Guide to Saints" were unsuccessful. Many films were unable to compete for awards and had to be released in the off-season next year.

"Half Nelson", which received the highest reputation in the 22nd Sundance, is a classic that can make money again by throwing money at the prize. It now belongs to Ye Wei and ifc.

The thoughtful publishing director Mark Ullman, the founder of Freestyle Publishing Susan Jackson and others regretted it!  Why did you in the first place?

In fact, viy's ruthless vision has been recognized by the industry since "Napoleon", but his film reviews often include "Opal Dream", which he strongly recommended a few days ago, which is an art film that cannot be promoted at the box office.  No one can determine when he is a businessman and when he is a movie fan.

But a genius is a genius after all, so don¡¯t lose money if you buy it yourself. With the current hn box office, it is difficult to lose money even if the box office is not good. If the box office is also good, you are really lucky.

There are more than 800 films and 32 feature films shortlisted for awards at Sundance. Ye Wei just bought hn. What is it but luck?

When the week of September 15-21 passed, the North American weekly box office rankings were released, and there was nothing good about the new movies scheduled for large-scale release during this period:

The weekly champion "Reviving the Style" only received 17.5 million (30 million budget, average single movie 4,995, 42% freshness, 81% love), and the runner-up was Scarlett Johansson's new film "The Black Dahlia" 1282  Thousands of dollars (50 million budget, average single museum 5,760, 32% freshness, 27% love), it will definitely lose money, don¡¯t even think about the awards season.

? And hn received more than 180,000 box office in 3 theaters, and the average single theater was 60,549, which was the first this week.

Pomeranian described it as a "terrible dark horse", and people from all walks of lifeHousing forecasting agencies have spoken one after another. The conservative ones said 5 million, the optimistic ones said 8 million, and the fanatical ones said 10 million.  No matter which number it is, the buyout price of 1.5 million suddenly becomes cheap or even great value. The profit of the film is not only the box office!  Especially this kind of word-of-mouth work that may be nominated for several Oscars.

No matter which number it is, hn¡¯s name is getting louder and louder, and its weight in the awards season is getting heavier.

"This is a surprising result." Bill Pearson, ifc's head of distribution, excitedly told Variety, "We are all shocked by its amazing appeal."

Shock is the best way to describe ifc¡¯s overall mood.  With the good results in the past few years, this year IFC ambitiously adjusted its distribution strategy to 30 independent films per year. As a result, none of the films released before hn could be developed into large-scale releases. The best "Word Game" had a maximum of 154.  The theater received 3 million box office, and the others could not break the million box office, and then hn appeared on the stage.

There is no doubt that hn will be the best-performing film released by ifc this year, becoming the third pillar after "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and "My Wedding Day".

Pearson and others simply wanted to hug Ye Wei and kiss him for a few times. There were many people who wanted to do this, and the Frackers were one of them.  Now they are as famous as the Hesses were two years ago, and a new husband-and-wife team has emerged in the film-making world.

The Hess couple's new comedy "The Mad Priest" (budget of 35 million) was released during the summer vacation in June. It received 80 million at the North American box office, with a 40% freshness rating and a 54% likeability rating. It received average reviews but achieved another personal success.  He couldn't compare to Ye Wei's terror, but he didn't fall behind.

Whenever they are interviewed by the media and talk about distribution, the Freakers will definitely talk about Ye Wei and the legendary saying that is spreading: "1.5 million? OK."

"He is very busy, and we don't keep in touch much, but we have always been friends who respect each other." This is how this model couple defines their relationship with bad boy Ye Wei; when asked about the possibility of meeting during the awards season, both of them laughed.  He said that he has never considered this issue. If it comes true, of course it will be great. It means that everyone has made a good movie.

Regarding hn's first week results, Ye Wei expressed his feelings on his blog, just one sentence: "half-nelson-also-can-call-handsome." ("Half Nelson" can also be called "handsome")

Movie fans joked that he was raising a snake in his arms. Viy's three new films were all ready to compete for awards, but now he has raised a giant python called hn. I really don't know if it will turn around and eat him in one bite.  .

But the bad boy has gained prominence again, this time in movie purchase. It doesn¡¯t matter whether he is lucky or powerful. The facts are before our eyes.  Industry media lamented that the film producers who had been severely beaten by TET had not learned their lesson. The "Best Stupid Award" was awarded to Sisuo Pictures, which had lost TET and HN.  Indiewire joked, "They really need to think about what to do." Maybe they should ask Ye Wei to be the manager of the film purchasing department, but the key is to be able to hire him.

? hn is not the whole of Ye Wei's life, it can only be a small part. The gossip media continues to dig into his love life. In recent days, there is new information, which Ye Wei exposed himself.

The social networking site FAC for college students will be open to all Internet users on September 11. Any user can join by entering a valid email address and age group.  This website is still just a base for students, and there are no real celebrities playing Facebook. Ye Wei became one of the earliest people. He opened his Facebook on September 13 and announced it through his blog.  The number of fans immediately skyrocketed from zero.

Including many journalists and paparazzi, the personal emotional state that everyone paid the most attention to was finally set by Ye Wei on the 16th.

Options suitable for Ye Weishe include "single (private), in-a-relationship, in-an-open-relationship, it-s-plicated, engaged (  engaged)".  The gossips thought that the big bad guy would set up a Playboy-only "Dating but Dating Room", just like his first half, but he ended up setting up a "It's hard to tell", and the media and the public were very disappointed.

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Because the setting of ¡°In Love¡± requires contacting another user and is made public. ¡°It¡¯s hard to explain in one word¡± is equivalent to saying: I have a girlfriend.

If Ye Wei is not single, there is no way he will be single.  The media and the public know this, but who exactly is "plicated"?

    ¡ù¡ù

Springfield is a small rural place, but Ye Wei lives a very happy life. He works hard during the day and spends his nights in the hotel. He continues to work, exercise, write articles, watch movies and other hobbies, as well as create music.

The Silent Starless Band doesn¡¯t just talk about it, he won¡¯t just talk about it with Lily now. He uses guitar to compose music and paper and pen to write lyrics. He is working on the latest version of "Lily's Song" to express his feelings about getting back together.

¡°I have already composed the music and lyrics for our band¡¯s first song.¡± On the evening of Wednesday the 20th, theAs he spoke, he smiled at her.

"So fast! Then I will only be responsible for playing the drums?" Lily exclaimed, "Sing to me."

"We'll sing again when we meet in Denver on the 30th. Just look forward to it, probably." He sang the old version of "Lily's Song" in a coquettish way: "Lily, Lily"

"It seems that the name of our band is really right" She laughed helplessly and said jokingly: "Do you want me to bring a drum set?"

    ¡°Just bring a tambourine.¡± He laughed.

Because of the time difference and their respective busy schedules, the two of them don't always talk on the phone for 30 minutes every night, sometimes more, and sometimes they don't talk for a while because they are busy that day. However, the eagerness and warmth of love are in their hearts, and lovers should be tired of being together.  There also has to be space.

Ye Wei¡¯s job is not only to prepare for w¡¯sb, but also to follow up on charity affairs, not much, because his mother helps him take care of the charity foundation he is establishing.

Since Duoduo went to school, even if she didn¡¯t hire a nanny and had to educate her herself, my mother still had a lot more free time.  Now that she is the director of his charity team, she can accomplish several things with one stone. She can do meaningful things as she wishes, which indeed makes him feel more relaxed. "You can enjoy your youth." There is definitely no crisis of trust in the foundation.

For charity, he will invest a lot of money and attract other donations, so my mother will be very busy.

The sunny days seem to fly by really fast, and it¡¯s almost the end of September in a blink of an eye.

? hn Ye Wei is naturally happy that his grades are very good, but his heartbeat has just begun to accelerate. "Carrie" will be released on October 6th, and "Soul Surfer" will be released the next week on October 13th.  The closer we get to the release date, the more intense the promotion for the film, they all are.

Lionsgate is preparing to hold a critic screening for SS. Whether it is good or bad will soon be known. Whenever he thinks about it, he will also feel a little nervous.

No matter what, it is imperative to release it in 2,000 theaters. This solid new viy work after LMS has this selling point, both good and bad.  SS¡¯s publicity strategy is promoted by both the Internet and tradition. The Internet aims to attract young audiences, while the tradition focuses on attracting family audiences, housewife audiences, and Christian audiences. ¡°Oprah¡¯s Talk Show¡± has become the most suitable promotional venue.  As for the program, they hit it off immediately.

On the 26th, Ye Wei flew to Chicago to participate in the recording of this talk show, along with Bethany and Emma.  He and the two of them hadn't seen each other for a long time. Emma had grown up a little, just a little, and her eyes were quite accurate. As soon as she saw him backstage, she asked: "Are you in love?"

    "Yes." He nodded.

    "Flowers?" Emma asked again.

"Yes." He nodded again, "Please help keep it secret!"

"Congratulations." Emma exclaimed, rolled her eyes and said with a smile, "I can give up completely."

    "Yes." He still nodded.

Although "Oprah's Talk Show" has its lofty status, the guests often open up the conversation box, and many celebrities and celebrities have exposed themselves and jumped out of it from here, but the domestic violence incident of Ye Wei and Emma  , he agreed with the show crew not to talk about his love life, Bethenny and SS are the protagonists.

So when the program was recorded, Ye Wei was not the one who talked the most. He only talked about the filming process and how the movie was going, and only talked about a few personal issues.  Oprah, the queen of talk shows, has her own way of pushing the atmosphere by saying not to ask, but then she asks, trying to find out his current situation: "Honestly, who are you dating now?"

The audience in the audience cheered, and Ye Wei suddenly laughed. Emma and Bethenny both looked at him with a smile. He replied: "I can only say that all my current scandals are untrue, and they are based on gossip."  According to media standards, I'm dating you." The audience laughed, and Oprah and the two girls burst out laughing.

After recording the show, the three of them took a group photo with Oprah backstage, and he quietly asked for an autograph with the message "ia-forever" written on it. Oprah knew that this was a wish for a couple, but she didn't know what ia meant.  Heathkram exposed "ia", and the outside world has been guessing its meaning, and of course it cannot be guessed.

Ye Wei returned to Springfield that night, and before returning to the hotel, he received a text message from Amber during the car ride: "I'm here in Springfield, and I have something to talk to you about, don't refuse me.  "
