Text 290 The Taliban on an international scale

Kandahar, Afghanistan's second largest city, was captured by a little-known "Mujahideen" organization "Taliban". In order to fight against the pro-Soviet government forces, the originally scattered Mujahideen formed a relatively loose alliance, consisting of seven relatively large Jihadists.  organization.  But no matter which organization they are, they are not capable of conquering a big city like Kandahar. Most of them adhere to the strategy of "surrounding the city from the countryside" and operate in remote mountainous areas. Except for a few relatively powerful jihadist organizations, they basically all use  Mainly guerrillas, no regular army.

The Taliban leader named Omar has a 3,000-strong regular army with excellent weapons. One month after the Soviet Union announced its withdrawal, the Soviet army's control here has been relaxed, and a large number of Soviet troops have withdrawn.  Marr attacked Kandahar at night and took control of the largest city in the south after a night of fierce fighting.

Omar came to prominence through the Battle of Kandahar, and then he summoned reporters in Kandahar and held a semblance of a press conference: "the Afghan people's disdainful resistance and efforts are about to succeed, and the Soviets have gradually  Withdraw troops from our homeland, and the Soviet lackey Najibullah is also waiting in panic for his fate. There is still one mile left in our jihad. Please lend me your strength to all the Afghan people. Inshallah.  With the instruction and blessing of Afghanistan, we sounded the clarion call for counterattack against the enemy for the sake of Afghanistan¡¯s freedom and independence.¡±

In the past, jihadists were not as international as Omar. They basically hid in the valleys and fought stupidly. They did not know how to use international public opinion, let alone image promotion.  But Omar, who is actually a Red Alert spy, understands these things. In addition to international propaganda, he also engages in domestic propaganda.

After the Taliban occupied Kandahar, Omar personally visited the influential chiefs of the local tribes and the imams and mullahs among the people to show respect to them and hope to gain their support.  He also sent troops to various villages and cities to distribute food and other daily necessities, and also promoted his ideas.

"Muslims under the light of Allah should unite and fight the real enemy to the end. The Taliban will bring peace and tranquility to Afghanistan, and believers will be able to enjoy the happy life permitted by Allah. If the Taliban gains power, the first thing they will do is to restore Afghanistan  order and economy, so that believers no longer suffer from hunger and fear.¡±

In fact, Omar did not wait until he overthrew the Najibullah government before he began to implement his so-called governance philosophy. On the third day of occupying Kandahar, the Taliban army began to arrest lawless elements in the city, those who robbed civilian property during the war,  People who raped women, illegally detained and even planted opium poppies were arrested. Omar gathered the people of the whole city together and he personally imprisoned them.

"These people are filthy and disgraceful, and the wrath of God will fall on them today. They have oppressed our brothers and sisters in the past and blasphemed the true meaning of the Quran. Today is the time for them to pay the price. I  Marr promised that under the wings of the Taliban, justice will be upheld and kindness will be protected." His inflammatory speech aroused cheers from the people in the city. After enduring ten years of war and turmoil, people here hope to see  A strong character, taking on the responsibility of a political strongman to restore order and prosperity here.

¡°Execution,¡± Omar shouted, and then bursts of chants of ¡°Allah is greatest¡± appeared below.  Influential mullahs had suggested that Omar use religious punishments such as stoning to kill those who committed crimes, but Omar rejected their requests.  If Omar was really the Taliban he claimed to be (the Taliban literally means theologian), he would certainly not hesitate to do so, but in fact Omar is a red alert spy, and his master Qi Yiming is the most powerful  If you are worried about the expansion of religious extremist forces, you can borrow the name of God, but you must not play all the tricks.

Hundreds of convicted people were shot by Taliban militants, and people's cheers reached their climax.

Subsequently, the Taliban promulgated their own laws in Kandahar. Although many of them were derived from religious laws, they were generally secular and relatively simple due to limited conditions.  Collaborators are shot, murderers are shot, rapists are shot, robbers are shot, thieves are whipped, those who injure others are whipped, cheaters are whipped, etc.  Strictly speaking, sentencing is very unscientific, and some seem to be relatively strict, but in troubled times, heavy punishments are used, so during the month when the Taliban ruled Kandahar, the city miraculously glowed with a different light.

The Taliban¡¯s success in Kandahar caused many people in southwestern Afghanistan to come to join the Taliban, and Omar¡¯s team continued to grow.  However, his core team is still the Red Alert soldiers from the No. 4 sub-base. During this period, Omar organized his Red Alert soldiers into two brigades, with more than 36 people in each brigade. They were unified into the Holy Guard, and other ordinary recruits were recruited.  The guerrillas who came were ordinary Taliban armed forces.

After Omar formed his own Taliban armed force, he did not blindly provoke the Soviets, because he and Qi Yiming both knew that the Soviets would withdraw sooner or later, and never again. Not to mention Afghanistan, their real enemy is the government forces, and even other jihadists may be future competitors.

Under the command of Omar, the Holy Guard expelled the government troops from the south. The two sides had a relatively violent conflict on the outskirts of Qalat, a city north of Kandahar.  Because of the support and assistance from the Soviet Union, the government forces were equipped with a certain amount of armored vehicles and tanks, while the Taliban side basically lacked heavy weapons except for a small number of "captured armored vehicles".

Imam Luhatullah, wearing a little white hat, stood on the front line under a hail of bullets. He held a Koran and was protected by two soldiers. The Imam shouted: "O warriors of Allah, your enemies are here."  In front of you, the source of all evil that has blasphemed the sanctity and purity, the devil that has brought sin and war to our land, your fight is just, the omniscient, omnipotent and eternal Allah is watching you, your lives have been saved at this moment  Bless you, the door to heaven has been opened. Infinite happiness and peace are in heaven. You will have endless good things and seventy-two virgins to serve you"

Luhatullah is really an imam, and he was even close to the government forces not long ago. However, after Omar took charge of Kandahar, he immediately became a staunch supporter of the Taliban.  Not only that, Omar also has a permanent imam in his army, who wants to give the Taliban jihadists some bonuses before the war.

This is basically a real-life version of bloodthirsty and blessed auras. The Taliban troops have strict discipline and belief in Allah. Even if they are not red police soldiers, many of them are guerrillas and even rookie recruits who came over later. But at this moment, a  Everyone is like a tiger descending from the mountain.

The Taliban army has enough anti-armor weapons, but they also need to rush up and shoot. Taliban fighters who charge bravely without fear of life and death can also cause huge panic to the enemy.  Except for the Holy Guard, which basically fights steadily, builds firepower groups, and then intelligently attacks the enemy through different maneuvers and interspersed methods, the other troops recruited by the Taliban adopt the typical "pig attack tactic", rushing to within dozens of meters of the enemy, and launching attacks.  They picked up their weapons and shot at each other, and some even overshot and rushed directly into the enemy's position.

Some of the Taliban men who were affected by multiple auras removed their rocket launchers from their shoulders and fired at the government armored vehicles that were completely unable to react; some directly used bayonets to stab the government troops whose morale had plummeted; some even fired at them.  It is completely unnecessary to rush under the tank with a grenade and explosive pack, and use a suicide attack to eliminate the enemy.

It can be said that the jihadists who dealt with the government forces were crazy enough in the past, but these Taliban militants can no longer be described as crazy.

The battle was shorter than expected. Most of the government troops could not withstand such pressure and collapsed and surrendered. Omar's army once again won the victory and stabilized the situation in the south.

The success of the Taliban has also attracted the attention of some foreign forces. It is obvious that compared with Omar and the Taliban, other jihadists and resistance organizations are just like mud-legged people, without any "imperial spirit" at all.  In addition, many of the jihadists are Arabs from abroad. It is impossible for them to control Afghanistan in the future. In addition, many of them are extreme and not very likable.

Omar is different. At least he seems to be very capable and does not show any obvious xenophobia. He also has an international approach to things, making it easier for Westerners to understand.  Therefore, after the Battle of Kalat, intelligence agents from many countries crossed the border from Pakistan to Kandahar, hoping to meet Omar and establish friendly relations. Some even expressed support and agreed to provide some assistance and so on.

Omar expressed his gratitude to all countries that provided help to the Afghans in their fight against aggression, but at the same time he solemnly declared that he would not do anything to sell out the interests of the Afghan country and people, and he had no intention of being a puppet or lackey of any country. He wanted to establish a free and peaceful country.  Independent Afghanistan.

This statement is naturally not liked by many countries, but it has favored many ordinary people. Some media reporters believe that Omar can become a liberator like Castro and Guevara.  Some pessimistic people pointed out that according to Omar's governance line, if he succeeds in overthrowing the government, Afghanistan is likely to establish a dictatorship in the future.

Many people just laughed at this. In the past, the governments of Afghanistan did not seem to be dictatorships. Really smart people will know that dictatorship can at least bring stability to the region and drive away war.  Of course the prerequisite is not to be a trouble-making dictator like Gaddafi or Saddam.
