¡°As far as the issue of MCA partition is concerned, China¡¯s current situation is actually not much better than it would be in another timeline, after the 21st century.  Although unremitting diplomatic efforts have won the acquiescence of some Western countries such as the United States, there is still a lot of room for negotiation on specific details.  And most countries in the world, even if they agree with China's move to send troops to save the Chinese in Malaysia, does not mean that they agree with the proposal of partitioning Malaysia.

The world can clearly see what the partition of Israel and Palestine looks like; everyone with a discerning eye also knows what the partition of India and Pakistan looks like.  Therefore, taking the risk of once again creating a possible regional powder keg is a burden that no country is willing to bear.  Likewise, China is never willing to so-called calm regional unrest and care about regional peace, while deliberately turning a blind eye to the well-being and freedom of millions of Chinese Malaysians.  At least under Qi Yiming's influence, this kind of thing can't happen.

The United Nations has thus become the best arena for competition, where different countries engage in smokeless battles for their own different interests.

After Chinese representative Li Luye proposed the MCA partition plan, the Malaysian representative immediately counterattacked, proposing that the United Nations Security Council intervene in the situation in Malaysia, condemn China's aggression, and demand that China withdraw its troops and stop its atrocities.  Their actions are obviously supported by the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom is also struggling with the support of countries such as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand on this issue, and is working hard to lobby the United States to persuade them to give up taking China's position.

In this diplomatic dispute, the United States also feels that it is difficult. Two countries that are also allies are at odds over an issue that is not related to itself. Since the day the crisis began, China and the United Kingdom have each begun to criticize without naming names, and  Speaking harsh words to each other is obviously something the United States does not want to see.

Britain is a long-term and solid ally of the United States, with historical origins and cultural closeness. The two countries share a large amount of intelligence consulting, military technology, and even British nuclear submarines cannot be called strategic weapons without American Trident missiles.  But on the other hand, China is an important ally that the United States urgently needs to win over. From a purely strategic perspective, Britain, which has lost colonies around the world, is lighter in weight than China, which can provide a large number of troops, more resources and strategic space.  , if a world war really breaks out, China will be far more valuable than the UK now.

Faced with this situation, the United States has tried its best to avoid publicly expressing support for the United Kingdom or China, but it seems much more peaceful.

The tone of the other superpower, the Soviet Union, is much more ambiguous, or in other words, much less moral.  One moment they shouted against aggression and armed conflict, but the next day they drank a glass of boiled water and changed their tone, calling for the export of the Red Revolution, something that should be recognized.  Of course, the Soviet Union did not have any peace of mind. It planned to use the emphasis on China's red attributes to drive a wedge between China and the Western camp.

Entering the second general debate on the situation in Malaysia, British representative John Thomson changed their strategy in the UN General Assembly: "The General Assembly, the United Kingdom and many other countries around the world do believe that Malaysia is in a difficult situation in dealing with its own racial problems.  There are some problems on the issue. Regarding the proposal of partitioning MCA, our country believes that the Chinese representative proposed it too hastily, and did not give local and concerned people around the world enough time to react and digest this issue, so we suggest that it be shelved for the time being.  The proposal for the partition of Malaysia by MCA is aimed at reliably restoring the actual situation in Malaysia, reducing local violence, and restoring the country's reasonable sovereignty. In order to achieve the above goals, the United Kingdom will propose to the United Nations Security Council to ask the Chinese people.  The Republic withdraws its troops from Malaysia and does so immediately.¡±

Li Luye stared at the British representative who was some distance away from her with cold eyes. Thomson planned to raise the matter to the level of the Security Council. Then the matter would not be as easy to resolve as the partition of MCA.  The Security Council's execution capability is stronger than that of the UN General Assembly. Of course, this also depends on the implementation willingness of other countries.

According to the principle of unanimity among major powers, China has the veto power of the United Nations Security Council, which means that if China does not agree to withdraw its troops, the draft resolution proposed by the United Kingdom will not be passed at all.  But the British side is still not afraid to use such tactics, because just holding a vote with a huge disparity in votes will itself be a kind of pressure on China.

??The international community cannot see China stationed in Malaysia for a long time. Although most countries do not have the ability and willingness to take care of it, they still have to say what needs to be said verbally.

The British method is to first continuously shelve the discussion of MCA partition in the United Nations, and then constantly mention urging China to withdraw its troops. In the British view, as long as China's power is withdrawn from Malaysia, they will have achieved a diplomatic victory.  Privately, the UK also has many different considerations. As China joins the US camp, Britain's status as its number one ally is affected. On issues, the interests of China and the UK are contrary to each other, such as the previous seizure of arms sales from the British Bae, disputes over the Hong Kong issue, etc.  The British Thatcher government hopes that this diplomatic dispute can teach China a lesson and make the Chinese people understand that the international stage is not a place where a small player like China can hold the stage.

Naturally, Li Luye would not sit still and wait for death. He immediately counterattacked: "General Assembly, I once again declare that China takes actions based on a humanitarian stance and out of responsibility for its international obligations and the safety of its compatriots. It does not have any bad intentions of aggression or occupation.  . Our country has formulated a complete withdrawal timetable, but the key step in starting this timetable is that the international community has unanimous recognition of the complex and dark situation in Malaysia and is willing to take action to protect the legitimate interests of the Chinese people there.  It is to promote the implementation of MCA partition.¡±

The British planned to suppress the MCA partition and allow China to withdraw its troops in advance, but China immediately retaliated. It could withdraw its troops if it wanted, but the issue of MCA partition must be discussed, and it is a prerequisite for China's withdrawal.

British representative Thompson was not surprised at all by this. They had done various sandbox exercises before and were convinced that China would definitely tie the partition of MCA and the withdrawal of troops, but Britain would never back down or make concessions. He continued to emphasize  : "China needs to immediately reflect on its reckless and hasty troop dispatching behavior. If China wants to assume positive international responsibilities, it should start by reflecting on its own mistakes and withdrawing its troops from Malaysia."

Li Luye protested directly: "China does not need other countries to tell it what to do is right."

But this debate was destined not to be easy. Before the British had finished dealing with it, a representative from Indonesia on the other side asked Li Luye again: "In 1954, China, India and Myanmar established the 'Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence' to guide their diplomatic work.  Subsequently, at the Bandung Conference, which had a profound impact on third world countries, the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence proposed by China were recognized and appreciated by many former colonial countries and third world countries in the world. However, as time has passed, China seems to have forgotten.  The brazen invasion of Malaysia, the blatant interference in the internal affairs of other countries, and even attempts to split other countries have exposed China's hypocrisy. The international community should be aware of China's ugly intentions.  We firmly oppose the completely meaningless MCA partition draft promoted by China. Or, the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence are just a cover, used to protect ourselves when China was still backward and weak, but after it gained the strength to invade and bully others.  Just a worthless piece of paper."

These slaps in the face really made the Chinese members of the delegation a little worried. In fact, domestic discussions on the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence are also continuing. Many senior officials have begun to question that this foreign policy at this stage may only bring more to China.  China does not need to bury its head and only care about its own affairs. It can gain more by going out and win leadership and prestige.

But what they said is correct. The Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence were indeed proposed by China. If China took the initiative to overthrow them today, the scene would be very ugly.  From a realist perspective, it is inevitable to abandon the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. There is no problem in abandoning it, but it seems a bit embarrassing if others say it.

Li Luye knew very well that what the Indonesian side said was actually somewhat mean and cruel.  China sent troops to Malaysia, which shocked the entire Indonesian country. Not only did the country's armed forces mobilize, but the Chinese in the country were also monitored more closely for fear of causing trouble.  Because anti-Chinese behavior is not only done by Malaysia, but also by Indonesia. If China uses the same excuse to attack Indonesia again, Indonesia will not be able to stop it.  So Indonesia is afraid of following in the footsteps of Malaysia, so of course it is now jumping out to ask the world to help stop China.

"The Indonesian representative ignored a basic fact, and it is a fact that we have repeatedly emphasized, that is, this dispatch of troops is entirely based on a humanitarian stance, out of considerations of protecting our country's innocent expatriates and sympathizing with our Chinese compatriots, and what our country has done is not  For one's own interests, instead of adhering to the spirit of the United Nations Charter and protecting the rights and security of Chinese compatriots, it is a positive contribution to the progress of world democracy and human rights, and a manifestation of a responsible major country. The Indonesian representative misunderstood our country's position.  It does not change the fact that Malaysia¡¯s racial situation is terrible. Taking things out of context and ignoring the root cause is not the way to solve the problem.¡±

There is no final conclusion in China on the Five Principles, and Li Luye cannot speak directly.  It is not a smart move to be surrounded by Indonesia on the Five Principles. Li Luye went straight to the point, emphasizing that the Chinese in Malaysia need an explanation, and vaguely brought out the subtext - be optimistic about your own backyard. If you also engage in similar scandals, we will  Wouldn't mind another partition.
