¡®Tao gives birth to one, gives birth to two, two gives birth to three, and three gives birth to all things.  All things bear yin and embrace yang, and inject qi into harmony.  ¡®Yin, Yang and the Five Elements, mutually reinforcing each other, constitute everything in the universe.  Everything in the world has corresponding matter in the universe.  The five elements correspond to the five stars of gold, wood, water, fire, and earth in the sky. On the earth, they correspond to the five substances of gold, wood, water, fire, and earth. In humans, they correspond to the five virtues of benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and faith. These five elements  The quasi-material forms a series connection between heaven, earth, and people. If Jupiter in the sky changes, the wood on the ground and the benevolence of people will also change.  In ancient times, people¡¯s destiny was calculated based on the mutual influence of the three realms of heaven, earth and man and the mutual reinforcement and restraint of the five elements.  Only by adjusting yin and yang, following the four seasons, ordering the five elements, respecting heaven and knowing destiny, and emphasizing virtue and doing good deeds can we achieve peace and auspiciousness.  ¡®It is in harmony with the heaven and earth in its virtue, and its brightness is in harmony with the sun and the moon¡¯, ¡®Heaven and earth are born with me, and all things are one with me¡¯, ¡®Great happiness is in harmony with heaven and earth, and great rituals are in harmony with heaven and earth¡¯.  Humans and nature are integrated and related, nature and man are one, and nature and man are interacting. This world is holographic.  Be respectful, upright, and calm. Keep your mind completely calm, not distracted, not anxious or slow, calm and composed. The energy and spirit of your whole body are harmonious and connected with the energy of peace in the universe.  Be in harmony with God and be in harmony with Tao.  How similar is this to cultivation?  !  I have always felt that ancient Chinese culture was a cultivation culture.  Taking the ancient literati's chess, calligraphy and painting as an example of leisure and relaxation, it is also a way of cultivating one's moral character. Those with profound attainments can reach a very high state.  ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????OUT out of the "quiet and quiet" style, and not the trend of loud and lively music.  Qin, harp, flute, and huqin.  The sounds are soft, tranquil and long-lasting. Behind such graceful and elegant music is a rich cultural heritage.  Confucianism pays attention to the "education" of social ethics, advocates the beauty of harmony, stability, restraint, subtlety and elegance, and rejects the noisy and charming music.  Taoism advocates nature, tranquility, inaction, softness and harmony.  Lao Tzu said: 'Big sound sounds like sound,' and the correct sound should be 'simple and quiet'. Only in silence can you have a sense of ethereal and distant space, and a spiritual experience of being one with all things.  Zhuangzi proposed "ease and tranquility" as the ideal of life.  ¡®If you are calm and peaceful, then worries and troubles will not come in.  Evil spirits cannot attack.  Therefore, his virtue is complete and his spirit is not compromised.  ¡®Literature men and gentlemen use the lute to make friends and find close friends, without competing or seeking.  Don't show off your skills.  Don't show off.  Stay away from the turmoil of fame and fortune, and enjoy yourself by practicing meditation.  The understanding of piano art is deep and the requirements are high.  Impressive.  ¡®Only when your body and hands are quiet can you integrate with the wonderful way and connect with the gods.  ¡® ¡®Therefore, the Qing Dynasty is the origin of elegance.  The hands are like the harmonious singing of luan and phoenix, not stained by the turbidity they must be measured by purity, tranquility and grandeur calmly and gracefully.  ¡® ¡®The spirit is leisurely and the air is calm, the irritability is calmed down, the competitive spirit is released, the flames are swept away under the fingers, and chastity remains on the string.  ''My heart and bones are cold, and my body is full of ecstasy.  ''Concentrate on the spirit and move the ghosts and gods.  ¡®This is simply the state of cultivation.  "Among the ancient pines and running water, I can only hear the sound of chess", "I am knocking the chess pieces and falling off the lanterns", "I am happy to win, and I am happy to lose". The fun of playing chess by the ancients can be seen.  In his spare time, he plays chess to make friends and improve his intelligence.  Playing chess requires quality.  There are various situations in playing chess, which often reflect the character cultivation of the chess players.  Pan Shenxiu, a minister of the Song Dynasty, compared the way of Confucius and Mencius to the game of Go, saying: "The way of chess lies in silence, and the choice is urgent."  Benevolence can be comprehensive, righteousness can be maintained, etiquette can be changed, wisdom can be comprehensive, and trust can be overcome.  If a gentleman knows these five things, a common man can play chess.  ¡® Emperor Wu of Liang was good at playing chess, and most of his writings were based on experience.  ¡®If the situation has been won, it should not be taken too lightly. Disasters arise from oversights and successes fall from the mark.  ¡®Although the chessboard is small, it is mysterious and changeable. Different people have different opinions.  Such as: yin and yang of heaven and earth, royal politics, military strategies, etc.  The chess game is like a battlefield. The black and white sides move their troops into formation, capture the defenders, and compete with each other in a battle of wits and courage.  Ying Jue, a scribe of the Eastern Han Dynasty, said: 'The way of playing games is more important than rigor.  ¡®It is necessary to have both a general strategy for leaving the world and a detailed plan for entering the world.  Historically, representatives of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, as well as politicians, military strategists, writers, mathematicians, philosophers, etc., have all praised Go and believed that it has benefited a lot from it.  Calligraphy is an extremely popular art form in ancient China that is appreciated by both refined and popular people. Practicing calligraphy can regulate the mind, cultivate the mind, and lead to health and longevity.  Many famous calligraphers in history have longevity. Ouyang Xun, who wrote "Jiucheng Palace" in the Tang Dynasty, lived to be 85 years old; Yu Shinan, who wrote "Confucius Temple Monument", lived to be 89 years old.  Contemporary calligraphers Su Juxian from Shanghai and Sun Mofo from Beijing are both over 100 years old.  Taizong of the Tang Dynasty said in "On Bijue": "When you want to calligraphy, you should listen to it instead of watching it, concentrate your mind without any worries, and have an upright and harmonious mind, then you will be in harmony with the wonderful" Ouyang Xun also talked about the following points when practicing calligraphy.  Clear your mind and set your mind, straighten your face.  ¡®We must eliminate distracting thoughts, forget honor and disgrace, concentrate on everything, and achieve a state of tranquility and concentration.  Then, with the intention of writing first, move your hands, wrists, elbows, and arms flexibly and freely, mobilize the strength of the whole body, and organically transfer it through the tip of the pen to the dots, horizontal lines, verticals, strokes, strokes, and the layout between the lines of the words, that is,  The so-called 'use the power of Qi through the body'???Promotes blood circulation and makes people energetic, which coincides with Qigong.  Zhou Xinglian's "Linchi Guanjian" points out: "Sit quietly and write in regular script, counting crosses or hundreds of words, and you will feel less agitated."  ¡®Therefore, ¡®main script is quiet to control movement¡¯, which means that practicing regular script can nourish qi, calm the mind, and eliminate irritability.  The official script, because of its calm and graceful calligraphy, is as quiet and refreshing as a forest spring, so that people who have headaches and insomnia can calm their qi and blood and regulate their emotions.  This may be the reason why calligraphers live a long life.  Although the shape of the characters is on paper, its expression and interest are outside the paper and ink. All the dynamics in the natural environment have their own similarities.  Just like Lao Tzu's saying, "Tao follows nature."  As the Buddhist saying goes, "One grain of sand is one world, one leaf is one spring and autumn."  ¡®Astronomy, geography, humanities, there is a way in the images.  Wang Xizhi learned the technique of writing by watching goose palms move water, Zhang Xu learned the method of cursive calligraphy by watching Mrs. Gongsun dancing with swords, Huang Tingjian watched the woodcutter rowing an oar and learned the writing skills The calligrapher uses the empty hand to move the pen, and the empty hand points to the real hand, quickly and  Don't be hasty, be slow and don't be stagnant.  Capturing the "luan dancing" posture and the "dragon soaring" state can achieve the state of unity between nature and man without selflessness.  Ancient calligraphy theory generally paid attention to the relationship between morality and calligraphy, that is, there is a saying that "a book is like its person".  Zhu Hegen of the Qing Dynasty wrote in "Linchi Xinjie": "The study of calligraphy is only a skill, but the first step is to establish one's writing."  Those with high quality will have a clear, elegant and upright spirit in each stroke; those with low quality will be impressive even though they are passionate and frustrated, but their vertical and horizontal rigidity will inevitably show up.  ¡®Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, loved the art of calligraphy, attached great importance to cultivating calligraphy talents, excavated and sorted out the ink from the Wei and Jin Dynasties, established Wang Xizhi¡¯s status as a calligraphy sage, made great contributions to the prosperity of calligraphy in the Tang Dynasty, and occupied an important position in the history of calligraphy.  Taizong of the Tang Dynasty also had unique views on calligraphy, emphasizing the "muscles" and "spirit" of calligraphy, and also advocated that calligraphy should have "the spirit of harmony".  ¡®The middle is right.  The right one is called harmony.  "Using sharpness is not as good as harmonious energy. Naturally, the wrist is light and weak, and the sharpness is calm."  'Taizong himself wrote the "Biography of Wang Xizhi" and the immortal masterpiece "Hot Spring Inscription".  Powerful, graceful and elegant, the whole poem is filled with a heroic and sage spirit.  Literati painting pays attention to comprehensive cultural accomplishment and advocates "reading thousands of books and traveling thousands of miles". Poems, calligraphy, paintings, and seals must complement each other, and character, talent, knowledge, and thoughts are indispensable.  The themes are mostly landscapes, flowers and birds, plum blossoms, orchids, bamboos and chrysanthemums, symbolizing an indifferent and peaceful life in seclusion, a pure and honest gentleman's style, and a noble and steadfast personality.  Literati paintings pay attention to the charm and interest of the brushwork and ink, and the artistic conception is meaningful and thought-provoking.  There are four painting styles: Yige, Shenge, Miaoge and Nengge.  "The power of Gai is not as good as the wonderful, the wonderful is not as good as the spirit, the spirit is not as good as the ease."  ¡®Taking exquisite products as the highest realm, transcending ordinary artistic standards, entering a higher world of aesthetic creation, and emerging from the dust.  He may seem plain and innocent, but he is incomparable in character.  It is simple, vivid and natural, and cannot be imitated.  Wang Wei, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty, is revered as the ancestor of landscape painting.  He is good at depicting scenes, and his fresh, clear, elegant and refined beauty of tranquility brings spiritual edification and physical and mental aesthetic pleasure.  Su Dongpo praised him: "There is painting in poetry, and there is poetry in painting."  'According to the "Tiaoxi Yuyincong Hua", Qin Guan, a poet in the Song Dynasty, once suffered from gastrointestinal disease and could not be cured after repeated treatments.  One day, a friend gave him a painting of "Wangchuan" painted by Wang Wei.  Whenever I see this picture of beautiful mountains and clear waters, I feel as if I have entered that charming painting environment, feeling refreshed, relaxed and happy, and the symptoms of gastrointestinal discomfort are gone.  After several days of "traveling in the painting", Qin Guan's illness gradually improved.  Wang Wei resigned and retired to his countryside.  Eat fast and worship Buddha, burn incense and chant sutras, play the piano and compose poems, go boating and sing, calligraphy and painting are vivid, and full of Zen.  Profound Buddhist attainments and rich cultural accomplishments are integrated into the brush and ink. Pure energy and cool breath slowly emanate from the paintings, which is pleasing to the eye, refreshing and beneficial to health, which is beyond the reach of medicine.  Huang Gongwang, the leader of the "Four Families of the Yuan Dynasty", was also a Taoist. He experienced ups and downs, was a precocious young man, and had outstanding talents. Because he did not get along with the powerful, he was later imprisoned and was not released until he was 50 years old.  He meditated and practiced, and his painting style became ethereal and elegant, vast and majestic.  He traveled around for seven years and learned the charm of landscapes.  When he was nearly eighty years old, he completed the painting "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains", which was a great achievement. He was known as the "Orchid Pavilion in Painting" and had a profound influence on later generations.  Dong Qichang of the Ming Dynasty said that when he saw this painting, he felt as if his heart and spleen were at ease.  Among the many top literati painters, there are many cultivators. The most outstanding ones are the "Four Painting Monks" in the early Qing Dynasty. Their painting methods are quiet and indifferent, but each has its own characteristics.  Among the four monks, Bada Shanren and Shi Tao had greater influence.  A good painting can make people disappear, wash away the dust, and gradually enter a better state.  It can be seen that the character, talent, and cultivation skills of calligraphers and painters are extraordinary. This is what the ancient calligraphy and painting monographs talk about as "settling the mind", "connecting the mind", "shenpin" and "yipin".  (To be continued, please search Piaotian Literature.
