The Buddha said to the Obstruction Remover Bodhisattva that at that time, in order to obtain the six-syllable mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum", the Buddha made offerings to the Tathagata Tens of Thousands of Buddhas in the immeasurable world, but he had not yet obtained it. He only obtained it after he made offerings to the Lotus Lotus Tathagata. And Shenglian Tathagata also obtained this method by making offerings to Infinite Tathagata. So now that everyone can meditate on and practice this method, they should be grateful, think about it, and believe in it and practice it.
When the Buddha Sakyamuni was still alive, a Bodhisattva named one of the eight great Bodhisattvas who could remove obstacles implored the Buddha to teach him the six-syllable Great Ming Mantra. The Buddha said: "In my past life, I once learned this mantra from the Lotus Elephant King Buddha." And where did the Lotus Elephant King Buddha learn this mantra?
It turns out that the Lotus Elephant King Buddha has experienced countless worlds, but learning this mantra yielded no results. When he arrived in the Western Paradise, he met Amitabha Buddha. Amitabha asked Guanyin Bodhisattva to teach him. At that time, the earth shook, precious flowers rained from the sky, and various divine transformations and auspicious signs appeared. After the Lotus Elephant King Buddha received the mantra, he saved countless sentient beings.
The Buddha was in a past life. Before he became a Buddha, he was taught this mantra by the Lotus Elephant King Buddha. After he became a Buddha, he also taught this mantra many times. But when the Obstruction Remover Bodhisattva requested a teaching, the Buddha said: "In a certain big city in India, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva incarnates as a layman. He rises to stop impurities and has a wife and children. However, do not underestimate him. He is actually the incarnation of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva."
The Obstacle Remover Bodhisattva then led twelve hundred Arhats. Pay homage to the lay people. After the layman taught the six-syllable Great Ming Mantra, various magical changes appeared. The Obstruction-Removing Bodhisattva offered a necklace to the layman, but the layman said, "I don't need support."You can make offerings to Sakyamuni Buddha. "
The six-character Great Ming Mantra is the compassionate mantra of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and Samadhi is the right concentration and right feeling. It is said that there are three Dharma-doors, all of which are closely related to and followed by the Tathagata of the Ten Directions, thus becoming a Buddha. Bodhisattvas of the ten directions, all kinds of conveniences, all similarities and differences, all depend on these three kinds of undertakings. If they achieve perfect realization, they will achieve perfect enlightenment. That is Samatha, Samadhi, and Jhana. If all sentient beings practice Samadhi, they should first remember that all the Bodhisattvas in the worlds of the ten directions Tathagata gradually practice diligent Samadhi according to various doors, and practicing the six-syllable Great Ming Mantra belongs to the category of Samadhi.
