Fight from afternoon to dusk, fight from dusk to dusk.

On the top of Dongcheng City, the Tang army and the rebels were fighting for every inch of land. It was really hard to separate them from each other.  One moment, the rebels pushed the front a dozen steps forward with difficulty, and the next moment, the Tang army, led by Nan Jiyun, dropped dozens of rebel corpses and regained the lost ground.

When Mo Dao rises, the clouds fly!

Although the rebels have an absolute numerical advantage, they have not yet found a suitable way to deal with the Mo Dao Formation.  More and more rebels climbed up the east city along the ladder, but they were unable to take another step forward. They blocked the general in the narrow space at the top of the city, waiting in panic for the next advance of the Tang army.

In the narrow city, the rebels' numerical advantage could not be used at all. On the contrary, the power of the Tang Dynasty's Mo Dao was maximized.  Raise the knife, sheath the blade, advance!

In such a narrow space, the Tang army could cut down two to three Hu soldiers every time they swung their swords.  The Mo knife penetrated into the bone and then cut off fiercely. For a moment, blood and flesh flew everywhere, and the severed limbs and arms scattered all over the ground. The momentum was extremely strong.

This method of killing enemies was so brutal that even a demon like Yiluohe, who had experienced numerous battles and killed countless people, couldn't help but spit in his throat.

This is a group of lunatics. How can you possibly win if you fight against a group of lunatics?  Besides, they are noble warriors, how can they fight against a group of people who are about to die?

The Yiluohe people were unwilling to condescend to fight against the Tang people, and ordinary soldiers were no match for this group of "madmen". The situation on the top of the city suddenly became one-sided. The rebels, who had an absolute numerical advantage, were defeated by only two hundred people.  Mo Daoshou drove him to the side of the crenel and was about to fall off the tower.

At this critical moment, a strong and eight-foot-tall General Hu pushed aside the crowd with a chain hammer and rushed towards the Mo swordsmen.

    "Whoosh!"

Hu Jiang used all his strength to swing the hammer in his hand. The hammer quickly traced a trajectory in the air, reached the highest point, and then fell rapidly, hitting a Mo Daoist on the chest.

"Poof!" Mo Daoshou felt that the muscles and bones in his chest were cracked, and a mouthful of old blood spurted out from his mouth.

    "boom!"

    "boom!"

General Hu took advantage of the situation and pulled it back. The hammer then spun quickly and hit the chests of several nearby Mo Dao players, causing great damage.

General Hu's sudden appearance caused an uproar in the Tang army's formation, and also broke the one-sided situation of the Tang people.

When Nan Jiyun saw that this Hu general had wounded several of his own soldiers, he was furious. He lightly knocked the handle of his sword, and then went forward with the Mo sword.

Raise the knife, sheath the blade, move forward!

Nan Jiyun resolutely took out his sword, and the sword hit General Hu's face. There was no way to avoid it.

Since there is no way to avoid it, there is no need to avoid it!

General Hu did not retreat but advanced. He stepped forward and suddenly swung the hammer, and the iron chain wrapped the blow around the handle of the Mo Dao.  General Hu moved accordingly and instantly removed Mo Dao's immense power.

"Hiss!" Both the Tang army and the rebels were shocked by General Hu's actions and were speechless for a moment.

General Hu sneered, turned sideways, and the hammer hit Mo Dao's blade again!

"Ah! Ah!" The Mo Dao in Nan Jiyun's hand was so controlled by the chain hammer that he couldn't exert any strength at all, and he kept shouting in annoyance.  General Hu did not intend to give him another chance. He suddenly took two steps forward, raised his arm with force, and smashed the hammer towards Nan Jiyun.

"Poof!" Nan Jiyun, who was not prepared at all, fell heavily to the ground, vomiting out a mouthful of blood, and Mo Dao also fell heavily beside him.

    "General Nan, General Nan!"

Seeing this, all the generals of the Tang Army rushed forward and drew out their swords to protect Nan Jiyun's side.

"General, that thief, that thief" A lieutenant glared at the enemy general holding a hammer, gritting his teeth.

Nan Jiyun wiped the blood on the corner of his mouth and said with a smile: "Why are you crying? I'm not dead yet. Hurry up and lead your brothers to face the enemy."

After saying that, Nan Jiyun¡¯s eyes went dark and he fainted.

¡°Woo-wu-wu-wu-wu!¡± The shrill horn sounded again.

"Woo-wu-wu-wu!" The horn sounded in Xu Yuan's ears.

Compared with the other three cities, Nancheng faced the smallest threat. Logically speaking, the Tang army should be able to easily resist the general.  But the funny thing is that because there is no real general in charge, Nancheng is now in the most critical situation among the 40%.

Xu Yuan's mood was like a turbulent sea, swirling and swaying with the rise and fall of the rebel offensive, raising huge waves again and again, and crashing onto the rocks again and again.

"Stop them, spearmen rush forward, stop them, don't let them rush over!"

Looking at the rebels rushing over from Yuliang Road, Xu Yuan was panicked for a moment.  Although he had assisted Zhang Xun in guarding the city since Yongqiu, these days of getting along with him did not temper him into a commander who was calm at every turn.  Compared with Zhang Xun, Xu Yuan is more like a literati in the traditional sense, a literati who reads files and deals with miscellaneous things.  It may be barely feasible to ask him to help manage rice and grain, and to recruit local warriors, but it is definitely too much for him to lead the army alone.  It's just that the generals in the Suiyang City army are dead and injured. Except for the two generals Nan Jiyun and Lei Wanchun who can fight with injuries, there is really no general who can take charge alone.

If someone like a fire chief or team leader was randomly promoted to defend the city, Xu Yuan would feel uneasy, so he would simply go into battle himself and command the soldiers to defend the city.

¡° If you are not a householder, you don¡¯t know how expensive firewood, rice, oil, and salt are. If you don¡¯t lead an army, you don¡¯t know how to kill the enemy and get into trouble.

It wasn¡¯t until the moment when he tremblingly picked up the sword in his hand and issued the order that Xu Yuan truly realized the true meaning of this sentence.

Although he didn't need to personally wield a sword to kill the enemy during the war, just hearing the sound of arrows piercing the air was enough to make people frightened. What's more, occasionally a few stray arrows would be shot from the opposite fish beam right from his own ear.  Flying by.

Looking at the dark mass of rebels on the Yuliang Road, Xu Yuan was filled with sadness.  He has never been as desperate as he is now, a kind of despair where there is no light in the dark cave!

One by one, our own soldiers fell down, and one by one, the rebel soldiers rushed up.

The soldiers poked with spears, chopped with knives, pulled with hooks, smashed with fists, and bit with teeth.

Soldiers from both sides are fighting together, using all their strength, just to put their opponents to death. This is simply the most terrifying thing for the family.  But now, he Xu Yuan actually had to witness such barbaric behavior!

ps: Actually, I have been wondering whether the rebels were too weak or Zhang Xun and others were too stubborn. It took 100,000 people to besiege them for ten months before defeating them.
