"Of course not," Momo said calmly, "This is just to facilitate research on it."

She opened the curtains at the end of the experimental center where Zhiqiu and Chen Luoyu led, revealing a window. There was a large room outside, with walls, floors, and ceilings all made of steel.

"This is the destruction reaction room." Momo said.

Chen Luoyu raised his head.  "Are you really studying the destruction reaction?"

"My father is very obsessed with studying the physical principles of the Big Bang - how a very small nuclear point of matter releases huge energy." Momo said, opening a steel drawer under the window and capturing the negative matter.  He put the collector in, then closed the drawer and pulled the lever on the side of the drawer.  After a while, the negative matter trap appeared in the room opposite the window. It rolled smoothly on the metal floor in a large arc, and finally stopped near the center of the room.

Momo smiled unnaturally.  "You will witness the destruction reaction of negative matter for the first time, with these tiny samples, one millionth of a gram."

Zhiqiu looked at the tiny negative matter trap sitting alone on the floor of the huge reaction room.  Chen Luoyu also turned around and faced the window, looking confused.

"Normally," Momo said, "we have to wait twenty-four hours until the battery is exhausted. However, there are magnets under the floor of the reaction room, which can destroy the electromagnetic field of the negative matter trap, thereby destroying the levitation state.  .In this way, once negative matter hits matter"

    "Destruction." Chen Luoyu whispered.

"There's more," Momo reminded.  "The large amount of pure energy released by negative matter will be converted into photons in an instant. Therefore, do not look directly at the sample and protect your eyes."

Zhiqiu has always been cautious, but now she feels that she is a bit mysterious.  Don't look directly at the sample?  The device was thirty centimeters away.  Behind an extra-thick wall of tinted Plexiglas.  Furthermore, the particles in the reservoir are so small that they can only be barely seen under a microscope.  Protect your eyes?  Zhiqiu was confused.  How much energy can such small particles release?

    Momo pressed the button.

In an instant, Zhiqiu could not see anything.  A dazzling bright spot flashed in the center of the storage device, and then the bright spot exploded, sending out a terrifying wave of light that radiated around and hit the window in front of him with a thunderous bang.  His entire reaction was shaken, and he staggered backward unconsciously.  The scorching light stayed for a while.  Suddenly, it quickly retreated, shrank into a small dot, and disappeared into nothing.  Zhiqiu blinked hard for a while.  His eyesight was restored.  He squinted his eyes and looked at the smoldering reaction room inside.  The storage device on the floor was gone, gone.  Not a single trace was left.

His eyes widened in surprise.  "God God."

Momo nodded sadly.  "Exactly like my father described it."

Chen Luoyu stared at the room of destruction dumbfounded, his face full of astonishment. The scene in front of him made him unable to believe it at all.  Zhiqiu stood beside him.  Looking even more stunned.

"I want to see my father," Momo demanded, "I have shown you the laboratory. Now I want to see my father."

Chen Luoyu turned around slowly, seemingly not hearing what she said.  "Momo. What took you so long? You and your father should have told me this discovery a long time ago."

Momo stared at him with wide eyes.  How many more reasons do you want?  "Director. I want to discuss this issue later. Now, I want to see my father right away."

"Do you know what this technology means?"

"Of course I know." Momo shot back.  "It will bring a lot of benefits to the institute. Of course, there are many more. Now I think"

"Is this the reason why you kept it secret?" Chen Luoyu sternly accused, obviously trying to anger her.  "Because you're worried that someone on my board will make this work public?"

"It should be made public," Momo said angrily, feeling like he was involved in the controversy. "Negative matter technology is indeed a very important technology, but it is also quite dangerous. So my father and I need time to optimize it.  manufacturing process, minimizing its hazards.¡±

¡°In other words, you don¡¯t trust the board to prioritize science over scientific and economic interests.¡±

Chen Luoyu's indifference surprised Momo.  She explained: "There are other reasons. My father needed time for people to understand negative matter correctly."

    "What's the meaning?"

what you think?  "Matter comes from energy? From nothingness? This is clear evidence. It proves that creation is completely possible from a scientific perspective."

"So your father is worried about this discoveryThe extraordinary religious significance will be completely obliterated by commercial interests.  "

    "You can say that."

    "Do you think so too?"

Strangely enough, Momo¡¯s ideas are exactly the opposite of her father¡¯s.  In her view, commercial involvement is crucial to the development of new energy sources.  She insists that although negative matter technology has always been regarded as the most promising energy source with both efficiency and zero pollution, if it is made public too early, it risks being destroyed and failing in strategy and public relations.  It will ruin nuclear and solar energy.  Nuclear energy was widely used before safety hazards were eliminated, leading to many tragedies; while solar energy was widely used before the technology was mature, resulting in many investors losing their money.  Since then, these two technologies have become notorious and were strangled in the cradle.

"What I care about -" Momo said, "maybe nothing compared to combining science and religion."

"Is it environmental protection?" Chen Luoyu made a bold guess.

"Yes. My goal is inexhaustible mineral deposits, inexhaustible energy, no more pollution, no more radiation. Negative matter technology will save the entire earth."

"Or destroyed." Chen Luoyu sarcastically said.  "The key depends on who uses it and what it is used for." Chen Luoyu's disabled body made Momo feel chilly.  "Who else knows about this?" he asked.

"No more," Momo replied, "I told you before."

"Then why do you think your father died?"

Momo¡¯s muscles all over his body became stiff.  "I don't know. My father did have issues with some people in the institute, you know that. But it can't be related to negative matter. Besides, we swore to each other to keep this secret for a few more months until we were all  It won¡¯t be made public until it¡¯s ready.¡±

"Are you sure your father did it?"

Momo was going crazy: "My father has never broken his promise!"

    "Then you didn't tell anyone?"

    "of course not!"

Chen Luoyu breathed out.  After a long pause, he seemed to be carefully choosing his words.  "So, suppose someone did receive the message, or someone sneaked into the laboratory. Just imagine, what will they do next? Did your father leave any notes here? For example, documents about the negative matter production process, etc.  .¡±

"Director, I've had enough. Now, I want some explanation. You've been going out of your way to assume 'someone broke in.' But you've seen this retinal scanner with your own eyes. My father has always been cautious about confidentiality and security.  "

"Just listen to me for once," Chen Luoyu glared at her and said flatly, "Is it possible that you lost something?"

"I don't know." Momo glanced around the laboratory angrily.  The negative matter samples are all in their place, and my father¡¯s workbench is also in order.  "No one says," she affirmed, "that there doesn't seem to be anything wrong up here."

Chen Luoyu looked surprised.  "Up here?"

¡°Unintentionally, Momo has already leaked.  "Yes. This is the upper laboratory."

"Are you still using the lab below?"

    ¡°For storage.¡±

Chen Luoyu moved in front of her in a wheelchair and started coughing again.  "You used the hazardous materials storage room to store things? What was contained there?"

Of course it¡¯s a high-risk substance, what else could it be!  Momo couldn't hold it anymore.  "Negative matter."

Chen Luoyu stood up straight with his hands on the armrests of his wheelchair.  "There are other samples here? Damn it. Why didn't you tell me earlier!"

"Didn't I say it?" Momo said rudely, "You didn't give me a chance to say it!"

"It seems. I have to check the samples downstairs," Chen Luoyu ordered.  "Quick, right now!"

"It's that sample," Momo didn't forget to correct him, "There's only one, and it's safe and sound. No one has a chance -"

"Only one?" Chen Luoyu hesitated, "Then why not put it here?"

"My father wanted to put it under the rock bed, just in case. After all, it is larger than other samples."

Chen Luoyu and Zhiqiu quickly exchanged alert looks, but this did not escape Momo's eyes.  Then, Chen Luoyu took another step closer to her.  "You produced a sample of more than five thousand nanograms?"

"This is necessary." Momo said defensively.  "We have to prove that the investment and the rate of return are substantial." In fact, all newly developed energy sources face the same problem: the ratio of investment to income - that is, how much money investors have to invest in the project to make a profit.  Just imagine, if you build an oil well that costs a lot of money and only harvest one barrel of oil, this will undoubtedly??Not worth the loss.  However, if the same oil well can be exchanged for thousands of barrels of oil with just a small increase in investment, then you will make a profit.  The same is true for negative matter technology.  The electromagnetic field created by mobilizing people consumes far more energy than the pitifully small amount of negative matter obtained.  Therefore, to prove the efficiency and feasibility of negative matter, we can only create larger samples.

In fact, Momo¡¯s father has been quite hesitant about this matter, but Momo has played a role in fueling the flames.  She believed that for negative matter technology to be taken seriously, her father had to prove two things.  First, investment in negative matter technology can yield huge returns.  Second, negative matter can be safely stored.  In the end, Momo emerged victorious, and her father reluctantly acquiesced.  However, the policy regarding confidentiality and access is unshakable.  He insisted on placing the negative matter in a hazmat storage room, a small granite cavern deep underground.  In this way, the sample became a secret they guarded together, and only they could enter that place.

"Momo," Chen Luoyu asked nervously, "How big of a sample did you and your father make?"

Momo felt a malicious pleasure in his heart.  She knew that even the great Chen Luoyu would be shocked when he heard this amount.  The image of negative matter appeared in her mind, and it was a jaw-dropping picture.  In mid-air of the container, a droplet of negative matter clearly visible to the naked eye dances up and down.  It's not a microscopic dot, it's about the same size as a simulated gun bullet.

Momo took a deep breath.  He mustered up the courage and said, "A full 0.25 grams."

Chen Luoyu was so frightened that his face turned pale.  "What did you say!" He couldn't stop coughing.  "0.25 grams? That's notalmost five thousand tons equivalent!"

Kiloton equivalent.  Momo hated this word, she and her father never used it.  A kiloton equivalent is equivalent to the explosive power of a thousand metric tons of TNT**. It is an energy unit dedicated to weapons and equipment, such as the payload of a missile.  Destructive energy.  And she and her father had always been happy to talk about electron volts and joules¡ªconstructive units of energy output.

"This much negative matter is enough to destroy anything within half a kilometer." Chen Luoyu shouted.

"Yes, it can destroy everything in an instant," Momo said unceremoniously, "No one would do that!"

"Those who don't know the truth may do this. Besides, what if the power supply goes out!" Chen Luoyu had already moved straight towards the elevator.

"That's why my father installed it in a hazardous materials storage room, connected it to a self-repairing power supply, and equipped it with a safety system."

Chen Luoyu turned around, looking hopeful.  "Do you have other safety equipment installed in the hazardous materials storage room?"

"Yes. There is also a retinal scanning system."

Chen Luoyu only uttered two words.  "Come downstairs, now!"

The freight elevator fell like a boulder.

Here we go another twenty meters underground.

Momo noticed that the fear of the two men continued to deepen as the elevator descended, and even Chen Luoyu's always expressionless face suddenly tightened.  I admit it, Momo thought.  This sample is indeed large, but the measures we took are definitely¡ª¡ª

    They reached the bottom.

The elevator door opened.  Momo led them along the dimly lit corridor.  A huge steel gate stood at the end of the road.  The hazmat storage room has arrived.  The retinal machine next to the door is identical to the one above.  She carefully aimed her eyes at the camera.

Suddenly, she stepped back.  Something's wrong!  The normally pristine lens was splattered with no, something was smeared on it. It looked like blood?  She was confused.  Turning towards the two men, he saw two pale faces.  Chen Luoyu and Zhiqiu's faces were pale, and their eyes were staring at the floor at her feet.

    Momo followed their gazedown.

¡°No!¡± Zhiqiu shouted, reaching out to pull her.  But it's too late.

Momo stared at the things on the floor.  To her, this thing was completely foreign.  And very familiar.

Everything happens in a blink of an eye.

Next, she felt dizzy.  Terrified, everything became clear.  The one who was abandoned like waste and lying on the floor staring at her was none other than an eyeball.  She must have recognized the hazel eye.

The security inspector carefully looked at the security monitoring screens in front of him. His boss poked his head from behind him and held his breath.  A minute passed.

The commander¡¯s silence was expected. The security inspector thought to himself, after all, he is a meticulous person and would never act without thorough consideration.Under such circumstances, they gave random orders to the most elite security forces in the world.

    So, what is he thinking?

They were carefully considering some kind of metal can displayed on the screen - a transparent metal can around it.  This is simple, but the remaining problems are very difficult.

Inside the container, a small metallic droplet seems to be floating in the air under the influence of some special force.  The droplet appears and disappears in the mechanically flashing red light of a digital display.  The numbers on the display screen continued to decrease, and the security inspector's hair stood on end.

¡°Can you turn down the contrast a little?¡± the commander asked, startling the security inspector.

He carries out orders.  The image has softened a bit.  The commander leaned forward and squinted his eyes to observe the words that had just appeared at the bottom of the container.

The security inspector followed the commander¡¯s line of sight.  Next to the electronic display, an acronym was printed faintly.  Four capital letters flashed in the rhythmic flash of light.

"Stay still," the commander said, "Don't say anything. Let me handle it."

Dangerous goods storage room.  Fifty meters underground.

Momo stumbled forward and almost hit the retinal scanner.  In a daze, she felt the detective rush over and hold her up to prevent her from falling.  On the floor at his feet, his father's eyes stared suddenly.  A heartbreaking pain hit her.  They actually gouged out his eyes!  The whole world has changed.  Chen Luoyu followed closely to comfort her, and Zhiqiu led her to stand by the door again.  As if in a dream, she unconsciously aimed her eyes at the retinal scanner.  The device beeped.

    The door slid open.

The terrifying look in her father¡¯s eyes was deeply imprinted on Momo¡¯s heart, and she felt that something terrible was happening in the house.  She stared into the room in a trance, knowing that the second act of this nightmare had begun.  In front of me, the lonely charging station was empty.

The storage component is there.  They gouged out the father's eye in order to steal it.  She thought of the connection so quickly, before she could fully understand it.  Everything is unexpected.  This sample was originally used to prove that negative matter is a completely effective energy source, but now it has been stolen.  But no one knows that this sample exists in the world!  However, the facts are undoubtedly before us.  Someone discovered this secret, and Momo couldn't figure out who it could be.  Even Chen Luoyu, the director who claims to know everything about the institute, is still confused.

Her father is dead, killed for his genius.

Momo was still grieving and felt a new emotion.  ()
