"One thing is absolutely certain," Sheriff Gu Pengfei said, "if the horse was doing something up to two o'clock, then Lao Bai and his precious son would definitely be able to see it. They said they didn't see it, but it was obvious.  They're lying. I guess the scene must have been very chaotic. It's possible to say they didn't see a quiet, hidden murder, but there's no way they couldn't see a wild horse running across the water."

    Xia Xiang nodded.

"I understand this too, but how can you pry their mouths open? Should I try it, Gu Pengfei? That young man, Xiaobai, he doesn't seem as stubborn as his father, how about starting with him?  Like? Does he have any special hobbies or interests?"

"I don't know about this, Xia thought, maybe it will be football. It is said that he plays football well. I also know which team he is waiting for to recruit him, but there is really no hope for Chinese football."

"Well, another ball would be nice, that's more my style. But, we can still give it a try. Where do you think I might find him tonight? A restaurant?"

"If he hadn't gone out in a boat, you'd probably find him there."

Xia Xiang did find him there.  It is always easy to communicate with someone in a bar. One day in Russia, beer is banned, and that will be the end of detectives.  They happily discussed football for an hour and discussed each team's chances for the next season. After that, Xia Xiang found that it was obviously easier for Xiaobai to start.  He carefully moved the conversation to fishing, then to Flat Iron, then to Link's death.  At first, the results of his efforts were disappointing.  Xiaobai suddenly stopped talking, his smile disappeared, and he fell into a kind of gloomy contemplation.  Then, just when Xia wanted to decide to drop this sensitive topic, the young man looked like he had made up his mind.  He moved his body closer to Xia Xiangxiang, glanced over his shoulder at the crowd in the bar, and then whispered: "Listen, detective, I'd like to talk to you about this."

"I wish I could. Outside? Okay! I'm so interested." He added louder, "The next time I come back here, I hope to come over and watch you play. Okay, I have to go. You come back too.  Home? If you want, I can give you a ride in my car¡ªit¡¯ll be just a minute.¡±

"Thank you, Detective. It's a pleasure."

¡°You have to show me those photos you mentioned.¡±

The two of them walked out and said good night to the people in the bar, but Xia Xiang noticed that none of the residents in the checkpoint seemed to be enthusiastic about Xiaobai.  There was a certain formality when they said goodbye.

They got into the car without saying a word until they passed the intersection.  Then Xiaobai said: "About that matter, detective. I told Dad that he'd better confess to the police, but he is very stubborn, and if he tells it, he might make a name for himself. Anyway, he really should  Speaking out, this matter is not trivial. And I don¡¯t think you can implicate us in the murder. But Dad doesn¡¯t believe Gu Pengfei and his gang, saying that if we leak the matter, he will have Mom or me.  Kill him. He said once you tell the police, you'll be in trouble."

"It depends on what the matter is," Xia wanted to say, he was confused, "Of course, the police can't hide anything - anything criminal, but -"

"Oh, that's not it, Detective. At least, it's not something you'd care about. But if the family heard about it, they'd tell someone else. I kept telling Dad it was stupid, don't mind if other people were there  That little bit of fame on the fishing net.¡±

"If it's not a crime," Xia wanted to say, feeling relieved, "I can assure you, I won't tell anyone."

"It's not a crime, Detective. So I thought I should tell you, Detective. You know, Dad left a bad impression on people. He always refused to tell you what we were doing in the Grinding Reef Forest. I think it was something.  I need to say it, but I know that if I say it, my father will take revenge on my mother."

"I can understand. But what are you doing in Mo Dao Reef Forest?"

    ¡°Lobster fishing, detective.¡±

"Catching lobsters? What's not to say?"

"No, detective. It's just, you see, it's someone else's lobster pot."

After a short questioning, the story started to become clear.  This unlucky man lives in the pass. He is used to setting up lobster cages in the area of ????the Motiao Reef Forest, and his lobster business is very prosperous.  But some time ago, he had a conflict with Lao Bai over the issue of fishing nets. Lao Bai said that his nets were deliberately damaged time and time again.  Lao Bai cannot pass the law.To relieve his anger, he took a simple private revenge measure.  He picked a time when no one else was around, went to the lobster cage, took away many lobsters and changed the cages.  Xiao Bai explained that Lao Bai didn't really want to use lobsters to make up for the loss of the fishing net. His purpose of revenge was to "make others unlucky." If "that other person" could curse and say that it was unsafe to raise lobsters in the bay, he would  I feel happy.  Xiaobai thinks the whole thing is stupid and doesn't want to get involved. He feels that if he can get better relations with his neighbors, he might be welcomed by everyone as he wishes.  However, because of some things (Xia Xiangxiang, he meant that if he was unhappy with Lao Bai's bad temper, he might give away all his considerable money to others), Xiao Bai had no choice but to cater to his father and help him.  He went to steal lobsters.

Xia Xiang felt a little dizzy.  Well, the truth is that simple.  It turned out that there was nothing behind all these mysterious situations, just some trivial local disputes.  He stared at Xiaobai.  It was beginning to grow dark, and nothing could be seen on the young man's face, only an incomprehensible outline.

"Very well, Xiaobai," he said, "I understand. But now, I want to ask you about the beach. Why do you and your dad insist that you saw no one on the beach?"

"But here's the thing, Detective, we didn't see anyone. You see, what happened, Detective, was that we took the boat out, drove over to the reef, and stopped on the water. We knew the other boats would  You go home with the tide, do you understand? Then dad said: 'Xiaobai, take a look at the beach and see if there is anyone else around.' So I checked, but I didn't see anyone except the one on the beach.  Except for the guy on the iron. I saw that he seemed to be asleep, and he didn¡¯t look like a local, so I told dad that he seemed to be from the city.¡±
