"If you see that bush, fire at it!!!"

In a jungle on the Nanyang Islands, pointing to a location in the distance, an officer said to the machine gunner next to him.

After hearing the commander¡¯s order, the machine gunner did not hesitate. With the help of his assistant, he pointed the gun at the bushes and then fired the trigger.

When the trigger was clicked, the bullets in the machine gun hit the bushes like a storm. At this time, many bullets also flew out of the bushes and hit the machine gunner.

    "Damn, there is indeed someone"

After lowering his head and dodging the flying bullets, the officer cursed.

Originally, the officer felt that something was wrong in the bushes, as if something was hidden in them, so the officer ordered the machine gunner to shoot a few shuttles there first.  Now when I look at it, it turns out there is indeed a problem.

"Sir, do you want to fire a few shots?"

After firing out all the machine gun bullets, while the assistant was changing bullets, the machine gunner suggested from the side.

    "good!"

The officer nodded, then shouted behind him.

    ¡°Call me the gunner!!!¡±

After a while, a mortar soldier ran over with a 60mm mortar.

    "Sir?"

"Did you see that bush? Shoot me a few rounds there!!!"

Following the officer's hand, the artilleryman looked over. After discovering the bush where bullets were flying out, the artilleryman nodded.

    "clear."

After aiming the muzzle at the bushes, it took a while.  A mortar shell had already fallen.

    "Boom!"

There was an explosion, and the officer seemed to see something flying out.

"You provide fire cover here, the rest of you. Follow me!!!"

After giving these instructions to the gunner and machine gunner, the officer shouted to the people behind him.

    ¡°Everyone is rushing towards me!!!¡±

An officer is just a platoon leader and must lead the charge when necessary.

So when they heard the officer's order, except for the machine gunners and gunners, there were dozens of people left. After shouting, they all rushed forward.

While running towards the bushes, several soldiers holding grenade launchers kept firing the 40mm grenades in the launchers into the bushes.

After being shelled, the resistance in the bushes seemed to have weakened a lot.

    ¡°Grenade!!!¡±

After rushing to a closer distance.  The officer shouted loudly to his subordinates behind him.

Hearing the officer's order, the soldiers with grenades quickly took out the grenades and threw them away one by one.

After a while, a series of explosions sounded.

    "rush!!!"

After throwing the grenade.  The officer rushed forward immediately.

At this time, several Japanese soldiers rushed out, seemingly wanting to fight to the death, but before they could do anything, the officer just pulled the trigger, and the Japanese soldiers on the opposite side were all killed by the officer's automatic  The rifle was down.

    "It's indeed a good thing"

After beating several Japanese soldiers to death.  Looking at the automatic rifle in his hand, the officer nodded in admiration.

"Sir, when will this be sent to us?"

Looking at the automatic rifle in the officer's hand, he determined that the only remaining enemies were those who had just been killed by the officer.  Several soldiers came over with envious expressions.

Not long ago, the National Defense Forces just launched a landing operation on the Nanyang Islands.  Since the distance between the Philippines and the Nanyang Islands is not very far, there are many islands along the way that can be used as coordinates.  So this time the Air Force also joined the fight.

Thousands of fighter jets and bombers were dispatched at the same time, and the scene at that time was simply overwhelming.

It is under this extremely superior air power that Japan's land and aviation forces, which had just emerged not long ago, were completely wiped out.

Under the cover of the air force, the Marine Corps and the Army soon landed on the Malaysian side of the Nanyang Islands.

After landing on the beach, the landing troops quickly launched a beach offensive. In just three days, they captured all the Japanese positions on the beach, and with the help of the landed armored troops, they pushed 50 kilometers into the coast.  about¡

But when the troops advanced into the jungle, it was difficult for the armored troops to move in the jungle.relationship, so in the end the troops only had to walk into the jungle and fight the Japanese troops hiding in the jungle.

Since we are in the jungle, the role of heavy artillery and aircraft, like armored forces, has been severely weakened. Therefore, in the end, the landing troops can only rely on this little power in their own hands.

Fortunately, the equipment of the National Defense Forces is better than that of Japan, and coupled with extremely sophisticated training, there have been no major casualties until now.  On the contrary, the Japanese army, as their opponent, is now retreating steadily.

Among them, automatic rifles, mortars and machine guns have played a huge role.

In fact, they are the most useful people in the jungle now.

    Especially automatic rifles

A semi-automatic rifle refers to a firearm that can be loaded automatically and fires a single shot.  Semi-automatic rifles also use the gas-guided automatic principle invented by Maxim. They use part of the gas and recoil to propel the warhead to eject the cartridge case, load the bullet and prepare to shoot again. Therefore, it is also called an automatic loading rifle.  Semi-automatic rifles can fire one bullet every time the trigger is pulled. They have more sustained firepower than manual rifles, have a higher rate of fire, require a shorter reloading time, and are easier to operate.

??The automatic rifle refers to a rifle that automatically feeds, fires continuously, and has fully automatic shooting capabilities.  A rifle that uses part of the gas or recoil from propelling the warhead to eject the cartridge case, load the bullet, and fire again. In other words, as long as the trigger is held down, the gun can fire continuously until the bullets in the gun are exhausted.

Automatic rifles include assault rifles, heavy-barreled automatic rifles and selective-fire rifles.

In terms of firepower, automatic rifles are obviously superior to semi-automatic rifles and manual rifles.  However, if the automatic rifle continues to hold the trigger, although it can continue to fire until the bullets in the gun are used up, the gun itself has considerable recoil.  So if you do this, it will be difficult to accurately aim at the target.

If it is a long-distance target, using an automatic rifle in this way is probably just a waste of bullets.

But if it¡¯s at close range, then you don¡¯t need to think so much. You just need to aim at the target, hold the trigger, and release all the bullets to suppress the target.

And the jungle is obviously such a place.

In the historical year of 1945, the United States implemented a new rifle research plan. The famous firearms designer John Garand began to design an automatic rifle based on the 1 Garand rifle.  A prototype gun was designed in 1954. After testing and improvement, the U.S. Army finalized it and named it the 14 rifle in 1957. It was put into production at the Springfield Arsenal in 1959.  The 14 rifle became the standard equipment of the US Army and replaced the 1 Garand rifle, 1 carbine and Browning automatic rifle.

The U.S. government emphasized the long-range design of military rifles.  Doesn't accept bombing.  When NATO was selecting ammunition for general use, the United States was firmly opposed to any ammunition with reduced power and short range and exerted influence. In 1953, NATO selected 7.62x51mm bullets as the standard rifle ammunition.  14 rifle and use it as ammunition.  The 7.62x51mm NATO standard rifle ammunition has standardized ammunition and rifles and simplified logistics supply.

The 14 rifle was born at the wrong time. The United States intervened in the Vietnam War in the 1960s.  In jungle combat in Southeast Asia, the 14 rifle appears to be relatively bulky, and the amount of ammunition carried by individual soldiers is also limited.  Moreover, the ammunition is too powerful and it is difficult to control the accuracy during fully automatic shooting.  Not as good as the AK47 assault rifle used by North Vietnam.  It is said.  On the battlefield in Vietnam, some American soldiers would throw away the bulky 14 and pick up the AK47 for use.  In 1963, the US government stopped purchasing the 14. In 1967, it chose the small-caliber 16 assault rifle. The 14 began to be completely dismantled, which led to the closure of the historic state-owned Springfield Arsenal.  A large number of 14 rifles were handed over to foreign troops in accordance with the military assistance plan.

The 14 rifle has the advantages of high accuracy and long range. In 1969, the US government developed the 21 sniper rifle based on the 14, which was welcomed by the troops.  However, it is obvious that a rifle like the 14 that focuses on long range is not suitable for fighting in the jungle

The semi-automatic rifles currently equipped by the National Defense Force are essentially similar to the 1 Garand, so naturally they are not as good as the automatic rifles currently equipped.

But after entering the jungle, the automatic rifle performed very well. In many cases, an automatic rifle could even suppress a squad of opponents from raising their heads. This situation is naturally the envy of the officers and subordinates.

    "Automatic rifle?"

Hearing his subordinates ask this, the officer chuckled.

"You'd better wait. I heard that the annual output of this kind of rifle is only a few hundred thousand. If you want to replace them all, the war will probably be over long ago"

Yes, although the automatic rifle has one less character in its name than the semi-automatic rifle, in fact the automatic rifle is much more complicated than the semi-automatic rifle.  Therefore, many equipment in arsenals need to be eliminated. Although China's industrial strength hasFeichen has even reached a point where it is not inferior to the United States, but it is still not an easy task for the national socialist government to eliminate so much equipment at once and then replace it with new equipment.

So far, after replacing some equipment, the National Socialist Government has only been able to increase production to hundreds of thousands of sticks per year. If it wants to replace all of the National Defense Forces, which have reached nearly ten million, I am afraid that it will have to wait until the post-war period.  It's time for most of the tens of millions of Wehrmacht troops to be demobilized.

Therefore, so far, except for a few elite units that can all be equipped with automatic rifles, the rest are basically only officers at the squad and platoon level who are eligible to equip them.

    ¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

"How is the progress of the battle in Malaysia?"

At the internal meeting of the National Socialist Government, Song Dinghan raised his head and asked Wang Yaowu.

    "very smooth."

    Wang Yaowu nodded.

"Although the Japanese seem to want to put up a good resistance, the gap in strength between them is too big after all. Therefore, the landing force is currently progressing smoothly, and I believe it will not take long to occupy the entire Malaysia"

Hearing what Wang Yaowu said, all the military and political officials present smiled.

But at this time, Song Dinghan raised his head and said coldly.

"Don't be too happy too early. Malaysia is just the first step, and it is also a relatively small area on the Nanyang Islands. After Malaysia is captured, there will be Indonesia and other areas"

    "We understand this, don't worry"

Hearing what Song Dinghan said, an official said with a smile.

"By the way, how is the situation over there in Songpa?"

    ¡°Over there at Songpa¡¡±

    Wang Yaowu frowned.

"The situation over at Songpa can only be described as okay"

"Songpa just had a confrontation with the Germans not long ago. Although he won the victory in the end, he also suffered a lot of casualties. If it weren't for the fact that the opponent's strength was not much at that time, I am afraid Songpa would have had generals.  The troops are ready to withdraw"

After the first contact, the troops under Cai E's command fought fierce battles with the Germans many times.

On the other hand, the Russians are taking advantage of this opportunity to retreat to the areas surrounding Moscow.  While building a defense line around Moscow, he was also resting and reorganizing his remaining troops.

This means that Cai E is now almost fighting against the Germans on his own.

Cai E's Caucasus Army only had a few hundred thousand men. Fortunately, the strength of the Southern Group Army in Manstein's hands was not much different from Cai E's, so Cai E could barely hold on.

But in several fierce battles.  Cai E's losses were not small at all.

And there are winners and losers between each other, and we can¡¯t say who has the advantage.

On one occasion, Cai E even almost fell into Manstein's scheme and surrendered several divisions of troops to Manstein. Fortunately, Cai E responded in time in the end.  All air power within the jurisdiction was mobilized and a gap was blown out of the encirclement.  Otherwise, I'm afraid we will suffer a big loss.

It is precisely because of this lesson that although the Wehrmacht is better equipped than the German army.  But Cai E played more cautiously.

On the other hand, Manstein, after failing to gain any advantage in many battles, maintained his occupation in a stalemate, but he also knew very well that it would be impossible to capture Moscow.

This is not surprising. Although Manstein's material problems were solved after all the materials originally used to attack the British mainland were transferred to the Eastern Front, the personnel problem was still quite big.

When Barbarossa was underway, Manstein's troops had been lacking in personnel, and after the failure of the attack on Moscow, this lack became even more serious. As for Stalin's removal of Zhukov, Manstein  The same goes for taking advantage of this opportunity to get a big win.

By now, Manstein's Army Group South was seriously short of men.

Manstein¡¯s original plan was to take advantage of the opportunity for a big victory to capture Moscow in one fell swoop before the Russians could react.  But now that the Chinese have gotten involved, the chance to do so is naturally gone.

In other words, at least in a short period of time, Manstein would not be able to see the chance to win Moscow.

It is also for this reason that when traces of the Chinese appeared, Manstein sent a telegram to Hitler describing the current situation, focusing on the failure of Moscow and the appearance of the Chinese.

And will not be able to win MoThe reasons for science and technology are all blamed on the Chinese¡ª¡ªalthough this is indeed the case.

Manstein never questioned Hitler's absolute command over the German army, but he was famous for his courage to refute Hitler in public on many issues.  Under all circumstances this would lead to dismissal from office, but Manstein could prove himself with facts in front of Hitler.

Even after Germany's defeat, Manstein was still able to live until 1973. After the war, he was sentenced to 18 years in prison for war crimes by the British Civil Court in 1949, but he was released four years later due to medical reasons.  .  He later became a senior adviser to the West German government, helping to establish the new Bundeswehr and becoming its honorary chief of staff¡ªall because the Americans needed Manstein to help them fight the Russians.

No matter what, Manstein is still quite wise.

So Manstein knew very well that if he didn¡¯t want to become Hitler¡¯s punching bag in this situation, he had to find someone to take the blame.

¡°Undoubtedly, the best people to take the blame are the Chinese.

In fact, it was indeed the emergence of the Chinese that caused Moscow¡¯s plan to fail.

Moreover, Manstein knew very well that because China declared war on Germany and sided with the Russians and Americans, Hitler had always disliked China, so it was undoubtedly quite unreasonable to single out the Chinese as the scapegoat at this time.  A smart move.

And this is indeed the case. After learning that the plan to capture Moscow had to fail because of the Chinese, Hitler lost his temper.

Although in the process of losing his temper, Hitler also lost some temper at Manstein, but in the end the problem did not involve Manstein.

In fact, as early as when the National Socialist Government sold war preparation materials to Germany and Russia at the same time, Hitler already hated China quite a lot.  What happened now only deepened this impression, but for Manstein, this allowed him to escape many problems.

Manstein knows very well that there are a considerable number of people in the German government who dislike him, such as Goering, Hillem, etc

The most important reason for this is that he once claimed that the German army should be commanded by professionals, which undoubtedly posed a considerable challenge to the rights of Hillem and others.  (To be continued
