    225 Sacrifice to Heaven

Regardless of the cries of the courtiers behind him, Li Shimin was still questioning God, and this was the first time in eternity.  No one knows what Li Shimin is thinking.  Maybe Li Shimin just wanted to vent.  But.  .  .  In this country that worships God, it is too shocking to be secular.

Since ancient times, the supreme ruler has called himself the Son of Heaven. The so-called divine power of kings means that the emperor must respect the heaven and the earth. When encountering natural disasters, he must fearfully check his own mistakes. The same is true for solar eclipses.  But as people's understanding of solar eclipses increases, rulers have clearly understood that solar eclipses are just an inevitable law of the movement of celestial bodies.  Sacrificial activities to save the sun are still being held, just for the public to see.  It's even said to be a ritual.

And now Li Shimin is full of resentment. It is absolutely impossible for him to admit his mistakes!  Not to mention that Li Shimin has worked conscientiously since he ascended the throne and has no fault.  Just saying that Li Shimin made some mistakes for himself when he opened his mouth would be criticized by the children of the aristocratic family. For Li Shimin, who was ambitious and angry when he first ascended the throne, this dumb loss was really not what he wanted to suffer.

Now, the ceremony is still the same procedure, but this self-reflection has become Li Shimin¡¯s accusation against God.  Asking himself whether he was at fault and asking whether God was fair, Li Shimin knew that doing so would definitely cause dissatisfaction among the courtiers and the people.  But for the courtiers and the people, what they wanted was real benefits. Li Shimin had reason to believe that with the new plow in his hands, he would surely turn the people's hearts around.  The rest of them are still jumping up and down, they must be dissatisfied with sitting on this dragon throne.  When he met such a person, why didn't Li Shimin want to kill him quickly?

"As the Son of Heaven, I am not disrespectful to Heaven. However, villains deceive Heaven's secrets and make Heaven punish you. I ask Heaven to check the earth. I will learn from the lessons of the Sui Dynasty and bring peace to the people. I value talents and strengthen politics. I accept advice in vain.  Act frugally to make the Tang Dynasty peaceful and peaceful. If I break my promise, I will thank the world!" Li Shimin was halfway through questioning, but he changed the topic and swore an oath to heaven and earth.  This made the courtiers behind him who were bowing their heads suddenly became stunned again.

Li Shimin could be said to have not only proved that he was not guilty, but also had the great ideal of governing the country and bringing peace to the country.  It also implies that someone is using this solar eclipse to jump up and down to deceive the people.  In this way, Li Shimin will only focus on governing the country.  Then all those who disobey orders and slander Li Shimin are those villains who jump up and down.

This solar eclipse is a long story.  In fact, the entire ceremony had not lasted more than a quarter of an hour. The sun-saving ceremony was always relatively short. The emperor almost knew how many words he should say. Li Shimin had barely finished speaking, and within a few breaths, the sun was shining brightly.  A ray of gold was revealed, dispelling the darkness.  Then Phnom Penh expanded bigger and bigger.  Slowly, the entire sun appeared completely in front of everyone's eyes, not to mention the cheers of the civilians in the distance.  The ministers who held the sun-saving ceremony at the Temple of Heaven also felt that it was time to end the sun-saving ceremony.  Although it was Li Shimin who acted out of common sense, didn't the sun still come back intact?  Just block the news and prevent the public from knowing what happened during the ceremony.  It's no big deal.

But Li Shimin still knelt in front and refused to get up. How could the ministers get up in advance?  Countless pairs of eyes were staring at Li Shimin, who was still kneeling on the ground and didn't know what to do.  At this time, I heard Li Shimin shouting from the front: "All ministers and ministers, follow me to worship heaven!"

Sacrifice to heaven?  The ministers looked at each other in shock after hearing Li Shimin's words. This time of offering sacrifices to the heavens should not be at this time. Not to mention that the ceremony of offering sacrifices to the heavens is quite complicated and requires adequate preparation in advance. It is not the right time to offer sacrifices to the heavens!  The festival starts seven moments before sunrise.  It is divided into nine steps: welcoming the emperor, laying jade and silk, entering the altar, making the first gift, making the second gift, making the final gift, removing the meal, sending off the emperor, and looking forward to the ceremony.  There are separate sacrificial utensils for each step, and even musicians are required to provide music, and the ministers and emperors dance together, etc.  It is definitely a complicated and serious ceremony, and what happened to Li Shimin today?  It doesn't follow common sense at all.  Are you going to sacrifice to heaven when you are not ready for anything?

However, since Li Shimin's mood of the emperor exports, even if he is inconsistent, it is impossible to refute as a courtier at this time. What objections to have, you can propose it in the future.  If anyone dares to say no at this juncture, no matter how good-tempered you are, a wise monarch will strip you of your official clothes.  If you encounter some cruel people, you may be asked to see the King of Hell directly.

Just when the ministers were preparing to act according to the original ceremony of offering sacrifices to heaven.  But Li Shimin, who was in front, suddenly bowed three times and bowed nine times to the empty altar.  Although the ministers didn't know what it meant.  But he had no choice but to follow Li Shimin and kowtow to the empty altar.

When everyone had finished bowing, Li Shimin took out a blessing message from his arms, but without reading it, he took out a fire folder from his body, took it in his hand and lit it, while the fire was burning. Before he had finished burning all the blessings, Li Shimin stood up suddenly, pointed his sword together, and drew a circle in the sky with the blessings between them.  Then he raised his hand suddenly, and the burning Zhu Wen fell bit by bit, slowly burning into ashes.

Li Shimin's eyes were fixed on the blessing. When the fire on the blessing completely dissipated and wisps of green smoke rose, he knelt down silently and performed the three kowtows and nine bows again.  The courtiers who had just stood up and saw Li Shimin grunting were stunned again, and then they knelt down. Although they did not know the meaning of Li Shimin's actions, they had no choice but to do it.

In this way, Li Shimin burned three blessings in succession, but none of the blessings was recited. Every time a blessing burned to ashes, there was a burst of three kowtows and nine prayers.  The originally nonsensical act of worshiping heaven suddenly became solemn and mysterious.  The courtiers believed that Li Shimin's solemn and mysterious sacrifice to heaven was definitely not just a temporary act based on his heart's desire.  There must be a reason.  Otherwise, no emperor would do this.  Wasn't it also so mysterious when Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty consecrated Mount Tai?  There must be some reason for Emperor Li Shimin to do thisRi, Ni, Ma!  !  !  Southwest is about to collapse. Tomorrow's tax law exam will have 20 choices, 10 judgments, and 60 calculation questions in the so-called open book.  And the key point is that there is no original title!  !  !  What is the difference between open book and closed book?  !  !  What a cheat!  !  !  !  What¡¯s even more detestable is that there are four sets of papers in one examination room!  !  !  You can¡¯t even copy it!  !  !  Southwest has memorized the questions, so this is the chapter today.  I¡¯ll make up for it if I have time, Japan!  Quanqin no more!  (To be continued)rq
