    Early morning of August 8, 1666 (mday+129)

South of Jena? ※The Magic Quagmire§

    ***求求***求求***求求***求求***

Dragons are creatures that feed on magic.

Dragons are the embodiment of fear. They/they stand at the top of all living creatures, possessing nearly unlimited lifespan, near-invincible fighting power, and near-infinite magic power.

Like humans, dragons are also intelligent creatures with great knowledge, but they also have an animalistic side.

Silver Dragon Mara never thought that she would have to flee in such a panic; but the situation in Jena did not allow her to think too much, so she could only rely on instinct and fled south with injuries.

From the moment she heard the loud voice of the enemy commander Clad Lopez, Mara knew something was wrong.  She has served as a royal advisor to the Holy Empire for hundreds of years, and has a keen sense of military affairs, politics, and intrigue〞though generally no interest in participating.

Her partner Denika decisively chose to surrender and ordered the silver dragon to escape south through magic to report the battle situation.  She is a very smart and decisive girl, Marla thought with a little regret.  Throughout the history of the Koman Empire, few women with such outstanding talents entered the court.  The "Emperor's Tooth and Claw" abandoned the retreating army and flew south along the hilly terrain.

This is what happened yesterday afternoon.  But last night, things were different.

After flying a distance of about thirty kilometers, Mara suddenly felt a sense of discomfort, and she discovered that the magic field around her had changed drastically.

This change is difficult to describe in words.  Just like a sailboat suddenly broke into a sea swept by tsunamis and storms from a calm sea, everything around it began to follow different laws.  Every magician can feel this difference. Their hands will start to tremble, and they instinctively want to struggle to grasp their own steering wheel.

But dragons are not human magicians.  This effect is much more severe on dragons than on human magicians.

If we use humans as a metaphor, Mara is now in a state similar to plateau hypoxia.  There is still a lot of air around, but the oxygen in this air cannot be freely taken by her.

The wound on the wing that was torn by the demon lost its magic protection and began to bleed.  Clouds suddenly appeared, and it started to rain. A strong wind blew in her face, blowing her injured wing back and causing her heart-wrenching pain.  Even if a brave man pierced her skin with a dragon-slaying sword, it wouldn't be any more unbearable than this.  Mara suddenly lost her balance in flight, rolled and fell to the ground.

Mara had to turn into a human form and forcibly "landed" in a forest.  She climbed up from the dust and found that the military uniform she was wearing had been torn by bushes. She had to take it off and found a pair of ordinary clothes from the dimensional bag and reluctantly changed into it.

Magic can no longer be used, and she can only look for traces of human activities along the direction of magic concentration.  Amid the chaos, some seemingly man-made flows of magic, she decided to follow these invisible rivers.  After bandaging her injured arm with branches, she walked south along the elusive path in the hilly land, trying to find a quiet place to spend the night.

It took several hours to walk, and it rained three times.  Marla, who was cold and hungry, missed the steak.

She saw two or three farms on the road, but regretfully found that all the farms had no lights.  The owners of the farm may have either fled to other places, or they have died in the tug-of-war between the north and the south.  One farm had obviously been looted, with only some charred black wooden beams left in place of the barns and buildings, and the skeletons of some animals randomly discarded in a nearby empty field.

It wasn*t until the moon hung high in the middle of the sky that she found a place to stay, a typical southern manor.

The owner should be a relatively wealthy gentleman who knows some not-so-advanced magic. His family has also organized a small army composed mainly of refugees, relatives and tenant farmers.  In front of his house hangs a sign "His Majesty's Loyal Subjects" issued by the Royal Security Department, which proves that the owner has paid taxes and provided help when the emperor passed by.

Mara met their patrolling sentry.  These armed farmers were considered gentlemen and brought the injured lady who was stranded in the wild back to the farm.

There is a stove in the restaurant on the farm, and there are about thirty or forty people.  In addition to the owner's family, there were also his tenant farmers and serfs, as well as other peasants from nearby small farms, and some people who looked like refugees, deserters, and travelers.

Marla wanted to buy some wheat porridge, but the owner generously said that the wheat porridge was free of charge.  She originally wanted toBuy some steaks, but the owner just shrugged and said that all the cattle had been towed away by the Imperial Army reconnaissance team that passed by in the afternoon.

"If I hadn't hid some wheat, I might not even have wheat porridge now." The host said mockingly, "They also said that the army will commandeer our place the day after tomorrow. It's better for a young and beautiful lady like you to avoid it as soon as possible.  , I heard that the city was under siege near Lunni, and there was not a single virgin left within a radius of dozens of miles. All the girls of some status fled into the capital, or they crossed the river to Italy or took a boat to Intre.  "

"It seems that the main force of the empire is running out of supplies," she judged.  "So is there any wine? I'd like to buy everyone here a drink."

The host laughed heartily: "Madam, this is Jena! Meat may not be available, but if you want to buy wine, you can get as much as you want!"

The Daughter of the Silver Dragon dug out a few old Imperial silver coins to use to pay the wine bill.  These coins caused an exclamation of exclamation.  The owner of the farm passed the coin to everyone in the house and asked them to pass it around one by one.

"I can't accept this, ma'am. I also spent a few years at Lenny's university. If I'm not mistaken, these are silver coins from the time of Sylvie III! That was five hundred years ago!  If you sell this to Lenny*s antique dealer, it should be worth dozens of gold pounds!§

After reading the story, the owner pushed the silver coins back to Mara with trembling hands.  Mara shook her head and forced a silver coin back into the owner's hand: "This is just to express my gratitude. If you really want to express your gratitude, why not sell me some meat. I think you should have  Hide some?"

The farmer looked troubled: "Logically speaking, I should sell some to you, madam. But there really are none. Not only the cows, but also the pigs and chickens are gone."

"However, if you don't insist on beef, Old John in the woods to the east might still have some on hand?" Another person stepped in, "Old John is the hunter in the village."

The master frowned: "No. There has been a thick fog near Johannes' hut since last night. I have already said that no one should go near there. The magic is all messed up. Old John is probably in trouble.  not enough."

The man sat back down and Ma La became interested.  She stood up and asked: "It's in the woods along the path east from here, right?"

The host looked a little unhappy: "Madam, as my guest, I must be responsible for your safety. It is very dangerous there. It is not worth taking the risk for a little meat."

The daughter of the Silver Dragon laughed: "Maybe. But I am also a magician, and I know how to ensure my own safety. I can see that you also have some attainments in magic. Your restaurant is decorated with simple  defensive magic. But they seem to have been ineffective for a long time."

Without waiting for anyone else to answer, Mara walked straight to a painting hanging on the wall and opened the painting, revealing the magic circle engraved underneath.  She frowned and studied it for a moment, then raised her finger and pressed it against the wall panel.  The solid wood was as soft as cheese in her hands, and sawdust fell like snow.  Several ravines were carved out with her fingers, some shapes changed shape, and she filled in unnecessary shapes with fallen wood chips.  After everything was over, Mara nodded with satisfaction, prepared a flaming arrow the size of a wine bottle in her right hand, and hit the wall without hesitation.

The huge magic group hit the wooden wall, leaving no trace.  The daughter of the Silver Dragon nodded with satisfaction: "It's fixed. The magic power in this area seems to be quite stable."

Everyone stared at her with a strange look.  Such a powerful magician appeared in such a country farm late at night, and everyone felt an ominous atmosphere from it.

"I want to borrow a torch." Mara also realized that she had gone too far and changed the subject.

The owner hesitated and picked up a spare oil lamp from the corner: "I hope this can be useful. There is a small lake in the forest, and the tributaries of this small lake flow to the King's River. Old Louis's cabin is by the lake."

Mara took the oil lamp and walked out of the door.  At some point, thick fog began to appear outside the door, blocking the moonlight.  In the magical mire south of Jena, both climate and magic are unpredictable.  She left the farm and walked east along the country path, following the flow of magic.

The farmer told her that Old Peter*s hunting cabin was in the woods on the north side of the road shrouded in thick fog.  Deep in the woods, the terrifying screams of unknown creatures echoed; the flow of magic was also suspicious, as if it was tempting people like her.  But Silver Dragon had no fear.  There is no creature in this world that can scare dragons.

Mara followed the path into the woods.  She was keenly aware that the magic structure around here was slightly different.  She had felt it since she used magic just now. It seemed that some mages were?Nearby reconstruct the structure that magic should have.  There was magic light and firelight floating deep in the woods, shining into her eyes through the thick fog, but it failed to confuse her.

All magic structures point in the same direction.  Centering on a certain point, magic is reorganized in an orderly manner.  She thought that would be Old John's cabin.  The hunter might be a hermit, she thought.

Pushing aside the overlapping branches and shrubs in front of her, Mara emerged from the woods, and her eyes suddenly opened up.

She saw the small lake the farmer was talking about.  Everything around was shrouded in thick fog, except for this small lake, which was strangely clear to the bottom.  The moonlight casts straight down from the lake, reflecting on the lake, stirring up a silvery light; even if it is only a few steps away from the lake, it is shrouded in thick fog.

You don*t have to be a magician to know that this is definitely not a natural scenery.

Then, Mara smelled a strange fragrance.  The aroma of barbecue floated across the lake and rushed into her mind.  On the opposite side of the lake, a glimmer of light loomed.

"The aroma is salt, pepper, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper."

Mara held down her injured arm and ran, completing half of the lake in an instant.  At the end of the thick fog was an ordinary-looking hut, with a bonfire lit at the door.

    Her steps slowed down.

Silver dragons do not feel fear, but they can feel oppression.  Dragons are a race that feeds on magic power, and they can identify people with great magic power.  They can't help but feel a sense of awe towards such people, just as humans feel awe towards people with great power.

Mara could smell the powerful magic that was almost overflowing.  If the rules of magic had not been confused, the man in front of this hut should be as dazzling as the bright moon among the stars in the night sky; if the rules of magic were still operating as before, every senior mage from Lenny to Delan should be able to  See this person's presence.

There seems to be a vague sound of bagpipes in the air by the lake.  In the sound of the bagpipe, Mara saw the owner of the magic power, the girl who was turning the barbecue grill with her heart.  The meat skewers were hung on the campfire, exuding that alluring aroma.

She is dressed like a hunter, but at first glance she is not a real hunter.  Both the shabby cloth and the hunting bow looked very ill-fitting and could not cover up her natural beauty and proud figure.

The fake hunter had his back to Mara, sitting on a small bench by the campfire, grilling meat.  There was a table behind her with a telescope and various papers scattered on it.  Mara did not rush to disturb her, but quietly began to look through the papers.

As she expected, these were records of the positions and directions of the stars.  However, these records were not like those recorded by ordinary astrologers, and Mara could not find any familiar astrological symbols in them.  There are no icons of stars entering a certain constellation from a certain constellation, and there are no animals formed by connecting stars. Of course, there is no such assertion as "the position of this constellation proves that people born in a certain constellation will have good luck."  These papers only have the position points, position data and various inferred orbits of the stars, which are simple and pure.

The daughter of the Silver Dragon was looking through the data when suddenly the smell of meat floated in front of her eyes.  Mara looked up and saw only a meat skewer and the beautiful blonde girl who was handing the meat skewer to her.

    "Want to eat?"

The beauty of the blonde girl is unforgettable.  Marla knew this beautiful face; she had just torn apart a demon with this beautiful face during the day.

But it was the first time she discovered that the owner of this face was so charming.  Those bright blue eyes were as clear as the blue sky, very different from what she remembered.

"If you want to say that you are a hunter here, then this is the funniest joke I have ever heard in five hundred years."

As Ma La said, she grabbed the meat skewers and ate them hurriedly.

"Actually, I originally wanted to say that I was the daughter of a hunter here." The blond girl smiled, "But since we are acquaintances, no, I should say acquaintances, there is nothing we can do about it."

"You ah wu I remember ah wu" Mara walked closer to the fire, took the meat skewers and put them in her mouth, and said while eating, " you seem  Ah wu# He*s a second lieutenant# Ah wu# What*s your purpose# Ah wu?§

Anne Seifer curled her lips and said, "Whether you want to eat or talk, choose one."

Yinlong started eating without hesitation.  Annie smiled, picked up the meat skewers and started eating.

In this late night lakeside, the silver light reflects on the water.  One person and one dragon in a hostile position were busy grabbing meat skewers by the fire, as if they had not eaten for a long time.

Soon, Marla began to feel that Annie? Not enough good skewers.  She looked around and found the remaining half of the deer in front of the cabin. She squeezed out a roar of joy from her throat and pounced on it.  She raised her right hand, restored the tip of her claw to its original position, and used the speed and power of a dragon to clean up the half of the deer in one minute.  She summoned an invisible servant and asked the invisible magical servant to do the troublesome work of skewering the meat on the stick.  After finishing all this, she stretched and waited for the new round of barbecue to be completed.

Just out of curiosity, Mara glanced into the cabin with the corner of her eye.  This sight stunned her.

She put down the meat in her hands and walked into the house.

In the room are more and more celestial observation data, all bundled up and piled up like a hill.  Next to this mountain of information, there was a narrow and simple bed, just like the kind of bed a hunter should have.  Mara approached the bed and looked at the old man lying on the bed.

Just as the owner of the farm said, old Johannes must be a hunter.  His slender fingers were covered with calluses from drawing the bow, and his skin was also covered with traces of wind and frost.  Mara can also see things that most people can't, such as the fact that this old gentleman is also a magician.  He has the sequelae left by the life-extending magic. Many organs should have failed. Originally, he could only continue to work reluctantly by relying on the magical power of magic; but now that the magic has become chaotic, these failing organs have become  One black hole after another, each one could end the old man's life immediately.

Marla also saw the only reason why the old man could still live.  A hose was passed into the old man's dry mouth, and the silvery water from a large flask was slowly poured into his throat.  The daughter of the Silver Dragon dipped her finger into a little silver water, licked it with her tongue, and then she felt relaxed all over her body.

"It's the water of life? But where is the water of life nearby" Mara suddenly remembered something, "Could it be? No, it's impossible, that's too exaggerated."

The daughter of the Silver Dragon rushed out the door, ran to the lake, knelt down, picked up a handful of water, and drank it.

Energy fills the whole body, as if just waking up.  Her palms were filled with silvery water of life. No, the whole lake was filled with water of life.

At some point, the blond girl also walked to the lake and handed Mara a cup.

"There's no need to use your hands, just drink some water to digest."

Anne herself also filled a glass of water with a small cup, sat down on a stone nearby, and drank.

"Is this to extend the life of that old gentleman? For Old John, you turned this entire small lake into water of life?"

    "That's right."

"But now we are in this situation! Do you know how to deal with this kind of magic chaos? How can you still create a spring of life in this kind of chaos-"

Yinlong suddenly stopped talking.  He realized that the beautiful girl in front of him was the culprit that caused all this magic chaos and nightmare.

    But she didn't say anything.

This is a war.  It is a life-and-death war on which millions of people have devoted their lives. The outcome of every battle is related to the future of the world.  In this war that has lasted for nearly a hundred years, there has long been no morality left.  Just like she has a responsibility, the female magician opposite also has a responsibility.

Even if it tears down the magic network of a region and destroys the daily lives of millions of ordinary people, it will not hesitate.

"It was you who destroyed the order of magic."

Hearing Mara*s statement, Annie nodded quietly.

"In other words, you ended the magic he used to extend his life and vitality. It is impossible for that complex magic to continue to be maintained in this chaotic order, and this old Mr. Johannes does not have the ability to recreate such a magic.  ."

    Marla continued.  Anne nodded again.

"You also know that the water of life can only last a person's life for three days at most." Mara finally asked the question, "Then, why?"

There are many, many layers of meaning hidden in this question; there are too many things that Mara doesn*t know.  But there are some things that you don*t need to ask.

Anne pondered for a moment before saying: "First of all, you can rest assured that this is not my task. It is my private request and will not harm your Majesty's interests."

"Of course. Your mission has been completed." Mara said with a bitter smile.  As long as they see her here alone and injured, the other party will understand that the empire has been defeated on the northern front, and it has been completely defeated.

"I have something I want to entrust you to give to someone."

There seems to be only one thing that can satisfy this statement.  Mara asked tentatively:"Are those observation records?"

"It's nice to be able to talk to smart people, no, dragons." Anne took out a box from under the table on the side. "Not all, but these are the essence of old Johannes's work. I would like to ask you to forward these manuscripts to those who want to  The man who figured out how to fix this mess, Isaac Newton. That's why I'm here waiting."

Marla didn*t answer the question.  The daughter of the silver dragon picked up the cup and took another sip of water.

"This was the old gentleman's last wish. After he was forced to leave the empire because his academic achievements were not recognized, he stayed here anonymously, used magic to extend his life and observed the starry sky for another forty years, perfecting it without the interference of magic.  I have the remaining observational data. I have to give these data to someone who can make good use of them."

This time Mara was a little moved.  "So, this person is a great magician〞〞"

"Yes, he was once the great magician of the empire. Johannes Kepler, the man who was ostracized by your astrologers."

Mara had a new question: "But, why?"

Annie thought for a while, lowered her voice, and told her reason in Mara's ear.  After hearing this reason, Yinlong no longer questioned it.

The two began to sort out the remaining records together.  They were like a pair of friends who had known each other for many years, sitting by a small lake full of life-giving water, drinking tea made from flower petals, and working together in tacit understanding.

At dawn, the man and the dragon finished all their work.  The papers recording the movements of the stars turned into a heavy box compressed by magic. Even with Anne's physical strength, she could barely drag it on the ground.

"Can I tell Isaac your reasons?" Mara lazily picked up the box with one hand and prepared to set off.

"Of course," Anne replied, "Wait a moment, I have to report the news to the old gentleman."

Anne walked into Orion*s hut, reported the results of her actions in Johannes Kepler*s ear, and introduced the person who would inherit his data.

After a while, she walked out, her sapphire-like eyes seemed to have tears on them.

From beginning to end, Mara never had the slightest thought of fighting.  She still remembered the process of fighting the incarnated demon yesterday; fighting someone who could summon such a demon was obviously not enough on her own.

She just hoped that she would never have to fight alone with the terrifying girl in front of her again.

On the way back to the farm, the daughter of the Silver Dragon kept thinking this.

    *********

The horses' hooves galloped over the hills and fields.  The silver-clad Royal Guards Cavalry galloped on the post road at dawn and rushed into the farm that had just calmed down.

"We are searching for enemy mages! Repeat! We are searching for enemy mages!"

The cavalrymen repeated their orders loudly, cut down the militiamen who tried to stop them, and rushed into the farm.

"Civilians! As long as you hand over all those without identification documents, you will be safe!"

The leading cavalry officers and their mages jumped off their horses.

After the officer looked around with suspicion, he turned to the young and majestic mage and asked respectfully: "Sir Newton, is this the place you are looking for?"

"It shouldn't be far. I can start the next step of the repair work from here. Soon you will be able to use magic three miles from here to the previous point." The young and majestic mage Isaac Newton  Jazz replied.

In order to save the army, twenty-three-year-old Sir Isaac Newton was urgently summoned to the expeditionary force staff.  He stayed up all night and came up with a method to rebuild the magical structure of the swamp area to support the troops' continued march.  He wrote this method in a pamphlet and gave it to the military mages of each army, asking them to rebuild the magical order.

If Anne Seifer, who created this magical quagmire, was lucky enough to see this thin booklet, she would find that it would be the prototype of the core chapter of the famous "Principles of Natural Philosophy".  That book will unify the complicated magic theories to a more fundamental extent and pave the way for future magic development.

The so-called magic is a very magical thing.  People have discovered from a long time ago that magic is a kind of science and it can be repeated; but magic is also a kind of mystery and it is complex and changeable.  Arcana is magic, theology is magic, alchemy is magic, astrology is magic, Confucianism is magic, and the Yellow Turban is magic.  There are also a large number of magical creatures that exist naturally and are not affected by these magical theories.  This problem has troubled generations of sages and magical scientists, making them rack their brains but get nothing, until Newton wrote "Principles of Natural Philosophy".

? If metaphorical, it is more like geometry.  EuropeCelide invented the first system of geometric logic, a huge system based on five axioms; but if you replace the fifth axiom, you can derive more completely different geometries.  Euclid had geometry, and of course Lobachevsky and Riemann could also have geometry.  The science that determines magic is the same as psychodynamics. It is a science based on postulates.  As long as a magic theory can justify itself, new logic and different realities will emerge, and a new magic system will emerge.  People and magical creatures can approach the origin through various magical theories, but in the final analysis, "Only belief determines power."

Of course the cavalry officer didn*t understand this.  He looked in awe at the great magician who was starting to work, and retreated with his guards: "Then let's go to work, sir."

Newton took out his magic book, grabbed a handful of silver powder in the palm of his hand and slowly sprinkled it on the ground, and began to chant a spell, trying to restore the magical order nearby.  The officer led his cavalry into the farm owner's dining room.

People in the restaurant had panic on their faces.  The farmer kept at hand an iron sand gun, the type favored by musket hunters, and his hand rested on it.

"I have provided a lot of assistance to your army! You'd better understand this-"

"We are searching for a woman," the leading officer rudely interrupted the host's protest, "an injured woman. She is a very powerful magician, she may not be a woman, or she may be hiding her wounds; but you should  You can see the difference between her and ordinary people.§

The sleepy-eyed people looked at each other timidly, and this small gesture did not escape the officer's eyes.

"Aha, you know. A beautiful female mage who was seriously injured, trying to hide her scars. She has been here."

Only the farmer remained calm: "Is she a criminal? Can I ask what she has done?"

Hearing this question, the cavalry officer*s lips twisted.  His fingers turned purple due to congestion, and he held the hilt of the sword tightly, as if "that woman" was waiting for him to kill her.

"That's a demon that lives around here. It's the common enemy of you southerners and us northerners! That demon is extremely cruel and does all kinds of evil. She destroyed countless villages and small towns, and brought down so many of our great magicians and priests.  They turned into corpses! Twenty-seven transport teams were brutally destroyed, and all the dead were burned to ashes! We have lost one court magician, seven gold and silver badges, two chief bishops,  Three bishops, thirty-nine generals and officers! Fortunately, we have brave warriors, wise magicians and evil-destroying priests. They fought together and finally severely damaged this female devil who fell into the trap yesterday afternoon!"

"Oh, what happened next?" The farmer seemed to be interested, "Did you win?"

The cavalry officer gritted his teeth and continued: "However, the power of this female demon is too amazing. She used all kinds of strange evil magic to escape from the encirclement, and bloodbathed two small towns to restore her evil abilities. We are chasing  The shot penetrated her left chest and right abdomen, used high heat to fuse her left arm, and cut off half of her foot! We lost track of her after that, and four more pursuit teams lost contact.  In order to completely eliminate this common threat to all of us, you must quickly tell me where she is. As long as she can be captured, His Majesty the Emperor will be rewarded heavily!"

The farmer was silent.  There were people around who wanted to speak, but the owner glared at them and had to shrink back angrily.

The officer was a little impatient: "That's enough, I know she has been here. I just want to know where she went - isn't she still here?"

The farmer seemed to be startled: "No, no, of course not! Your Excellency, you can take a look at the oil painting on the wall. She has indeed been here. She also helped us repair the old magic circle, which can prevent fire  "

Several soldiers looked at each other and nodded.  They did not invite the busy Lord Newton, but directly approached the oil painting, pulled the painting off the wall, and began to study the magic circle behind it.

    "Could this be a trap?"

"Maybe, let's not be too hasty. Mr. Master, so she didn't stay? We want to search your house, is that okay?"

The farmer looked a little embarrassed: "Can you wait any longer? My wife and the others haven't gotten up yet. Besides, there is no way I would harbor such a devil, unless she disguises herself as one of your people, or she disguises herself as an evil spirit."  of freedom 每 the rebel tax collector.§

The officer thought for a while and replied: "It is unlikely that she will be disguised as one of our people, but it is very likely that she will be disguised as someone from the Free Army. But in any case, she is also a devil and not a member of the Free Army〞〞"

※But to me, she sounds like?Heroes of the Free Army.  "

The farmer muttered softly, suddenly picked up the iron sand gun in his hand, and fired a shot at the soldiers gathered next to the magic circle.  The officer who was talking happily received the shot and screamed, his whole body pressed against the wall.

Immediately afterwards, the host grabbed the oil lamp on the table and threw it away.  The remaining people also reacted, took out weapons from their waists and started fighting.

By the time Mara came back with a box full of information, the battle was over.

The entire farm was reduced to rubble.  Except for the farmhouse that she had reinforced with a fireproof magic circle, all the remaining buildings were burned to ashes.  Men and militiamen died in yards, in haystacks, in stables, on walls, in mills, and by wells.  The corpses of women and children were piled in piles and dumped in the open fields of the farmland, next to the corpses of the emperors who died in battle.

Soldiers with spears and muskets were searching the yard. When they saw her walking in, they all screamed and began to fire.

At that moment, the silver dragon named Mara forgot about her transformation and her reflexed left wing.

This is not the army she should be fighting for.

She howled and started fighting directly using her instincts.  Her right hand turned into a sharp claw, her legs swelled out of her trouser legs, and only her body still barely maintained a human shape.

The battle was so quick that she had forgotten about it.  When she came to her senses, all the weapons had been stuck on the walls of the courtyard, and the trembling soldiers were trying to crawl away.

Mara grabbed a soldier and asked: "Why do you want to kill them? Why do you want to kill children and women too?!"

The daughter of the Silver Dragon squeezed these words out of her throat.  Because of her anger, she was no longer able to control the human muscles she imitated.

The soldier struggled to answer: "This is war They attacked first, and I was executing the order-"

Mara's claws penetrated the soldier's throat.

"Yes, there is no right or wrong in a cruel war. Everyone is just loyal to their own duties and beliefs. Everyone will say this. Many people feel that cruelty is the essence of war, so they abuse this power wantonly,  You also think that anyone who does not take advantage of this cruelty is a naive fool. You envy and worship cruel people."

The voice of the Silver Dragon's daughter became louder, and she used the natural magic ability belonging to the Silver Dragon clan.

That ability can identify every tremor in the voice and expose every lie.

"Come on, tell me, soldiers, did you take part in the massacre of these people? Tell me, is the answer yes or no?"

Maral swiftly executed everyone who set out to massacre.  In fact, there was only one person who did not start the massacre, and that was the young magician.

"No, no, I didn't kill I am Isaac Newton I, I will pay the ransom don't kill me"

Isaac Newton*s legs went weak and he sat down on the ground.  He was a high-level mage, that was true; but the brutal killing of the silver-haired woman in front of him also frightened him.  He knew that this woman was not the beautiful opponent yesterday.  He could still remain calm when fighting the mysterious beauty mage; but the young mithril emblem mage was not as experienced as his uncle.

This name brought back Mara's sanity.  She remembered the request she had accepted.

    "Why are you here, Isaac?"

"I, I detected an abnormal normal area of ??magic power nearby"

Mara sighed secretly.  Anne Seifer's calculations were so precise that she should have been able to lead to Newton himself.  If that were the case, perhaps this tragedy would not have happened

Just as she was thinking this, the horse's hooves broke the calm again.

The second imperial cavalry received the warning signal that was sent out at an unknown time and rushed into the farm.

"My entire advance teamis this the woman you are chasing after?!"

The captain of the second cavalry was so angry that his face was twisted. He drew his sword out of its sheath and wanted to charge forward.

Ma La snorted, turned around, and raised her good right hand.

But the cavalry captain*s attack was not launched.

"Stop attacking, this is an unfortunate misunderstanding. She is not the target, although I don't know why she is here." Cardinal Ionette Hartman, the top person in charge of the pursuit, raised his weapon  It turned into a hand shield and hit the captain hard on the back of the head, stopping the situation from escalating.

"Let me introduce the fangs and claws of our Emperor. This is Ms. Mara, the Silver Dragon. Salute."

The remaining cavalrymen gritted their teeth.Received the ceremony.  They cannot resist a cardinal.

Ionette smiled bitterly and said: "Although I don't know the specific process, I can probably guess the reason. This Ms. Mara enforced military law for us."

"I just performed a tragedy." Mara replied in a low voice.

※The tragedy is that we are chasing a terrible enemy, and this enemy has ignited the anger in all of us.§ Ionette explained.

He introduced the current situation to Mara, as well as the mysterious female mage they were hunting.  Even the daughter of the Silver Dragon was a little surprised to learn that this mage had blocked the entire army for so many days; she quickly thought of the suspect.

"In addition, I would like to thank you for letting our reckless little Isaac go." After introducing the situation, Ionette expressed her gratitude in a low voice on behalf of the Holy See, "Cardinal Jett Newton's spirit in heaven will thank you.  ."

"Speaking of which, I might have killed this ignorant young man, but the person you were chasing stopped me in advance with her language. Yes, I saw the person you were chasing last night."

Ignoring the surprise of everyone around him, Malapin lifted the carton containing a huge number of paper rolls, let go of his hand, and the carton fell to the ground with a bang, stirring up dust.

"She has something she wants me to bring to you, Sir Isaac Newton. She also has something to convey to you."

    Those are Anne*s interesting ※reasons§.

"She said that the laws of nature are hidden in the dark night. The God of Destiny said, 'There must be Newton,' and then there was light."

"That is a great light that she cannot extinguish, so she deliberately saved Mr. Kepler's last data and gave it to you who studies gravity."

Mara thought about those words and repeated them.

"The stones thrown will eventually fall to the ground, and the war that breaks out will eventually end."

"Crutal war should not obscure the light that belongs to mankind. Because that is the future, the future for which each of us is fighting."

Yinlong glanced at all the remaining people coldly.  No one dared to look at her, everyone lowered their heads angrily.

"Although you didn't do anything, there is no glory to speak of. This is war, but there should be light in war. You can't catch up with that lady, never. Goodbye, I have to go to the headquarters  Report on the war situation in the north."

With a smile, Mara pulled over an ownerless horse and rode on it.

Feeling her breath, the fierce horse suddenly became extremely tame.  She smiled proudly, revealing her four big dragon teeth.

These young imperial mages did not lie, they indeed severely damaged that terrible opponent.  Of course, this should have something to do with the fact that she tore apart the mimic demon yesterday.  Even the Silver Dragon would feel proud after severely injuring such a powerful opponent.

Anne Seifer*s life should also depend on the mimetic internal organs and life water, right?  That incredibly beautiful body should be almost at the end of its use.  Of course, every powerful magician will have spare weapons that can be replaced〞〞

It looks like the ** is definitely not nearby.

She recalled Anne Seifer*s actions just now: she had never touched her body with her hands, not even once.

Under that ill-fitting Orion costume, I am afraid that not only is there a graceful figure, but also a terrifying scenery.  If the injury was indeed what Ionette said, there should be holes of all sizes, simulated internal organs, and life water flowing in the simulated blood vessels under the clothes.

In other words, Anne*s current body can still be used for about forty-eight hours.

However, Mara did not intend to tell this information to the soldiers of the empire.  The road is open anyway, let them go.

In her mind, she kept thinking about the omen she had glimpsed from Anne - or was it a memory?  It was a war that was far more violent, terrifying, and cruel than the Freedom War, and more cruel than any war she had seen in more than a thousand years.  The young girl, like Mara herself, had experienced truly cruel battlefields.

"That's why she wants to keep the light of the war. Good luck to you, Miss Saphire. See you Lenny."

The man from the future and the dragon from the past parted ways, each embarking on their own path.

The end of every road will converge in the city where fate intersects.
