One Hundred and Four Tea Shop

Meng Ju staggered home, opened the door, and saw Su Wenqing's surprised face: "Mr. Meng, are you back?"

Jiang Leilei poked her head out from inside and shouted in surprise: "Mr. Meng, aren't you on a business trip?"

"Don't bother me, I'm very tired and want to sleep for a while."

"Okay. Have you eaten? Let's fix some for you!"

But when the two girls brought over the hot food, Meng Ju had already fallen asleep on the bed.  Listening to the slight snoring coming from the room, Jiang Leilei pouted and said unhappy: "Really, I don't even want to eat. They just cooked it with great care!"

Su Wenqing pursed her lips and smiled, with a hint of joy on her lips.  She pushed Jiang Leilei: "Leilei, let's go out. Chief Meng is very tired. Let's not disturb him to sleep."

When Meng Ju woke up from his sleep, it was late afternoon and almost dusk again.  Sitting in front of the window and watching the sunset slowly set, his mood also fell to the bottom of the mountain like the sunset, and he was disheartened.

Hearing that he woke up, Su Wenqing and Jiang Leilei came in to greet him. Su Wenqing asked: "Sir Meng, it seems that your business trip is not going to work? Then we don't need to find Chief Murong, right?"

Meng Ju thought for a while and reluctantly said: "I can't get out for now. Keep the letter and don't lose it. Maybe it will be used again."

Hearing Meng Ju¡¯s order to keep the letter, Su Wenqing¡¯s face darkened, then she smiled and said, ¡°Mr. Meng, are you hungry? Can we give you something to eat?¡±

Meng Ju shook his head.  Although he hasn't eaten any water or rice for a day, he really has no appetite at all.

"I'm going out for a walk. The weather is nice. You can also go for a walk. Don't stay bored at home all day long."

Two girls were waiting for Meng Ju to dress. Seeing that they brought fish scale armor, Meng Ju waved his hand and said, "I'll go out in casual clothes. You don't have to wait for me to eat."

Wearing a scholar's robe, Meng Ju went out happily.

Although there was a large-scale mutiny last night and the Black Wind Brigade was in chaos all night, fortunately the suppression was timely and the local civilians were not disturbed. The streets of Jingan City were still bustling with people.  Bright lanterns were hung high in taverns, restaurants and brothels. The waiters on the streets were shouting for customers, and pedestrians entered the brightly lit restaurants with cheerful faces.

If it weren¡¯t for personal experience, Meng Ju would really not believe that he was in front of a city that was almost destroyed by a military disaster last night.

Meng Ju wore a scholar's robe underneath and a thick cotton-padded jacket, with a short sword hidden in his sleeve.  He felt that dressing up like this was very ordinary and did not attract anyone's attention, but after just a few steps on the street, he felt an uncomfortable feeling like needles pricking his back.

In front of a shop on the side of the road, he bargained with the store for a while while buying clothes. He glanced back and saw a few men scattered a few steps behind him. They were chatting and strolling. Looking at the clothes, they were all ruffians from the market.

Meng Ju frowned and said, "Shopkeeper, your price is really high. I'll go back and discuss it with my wife before coming back."

"Okay, sir, please go slowly. Welcome to come again."

Meng Ju took a few steps and walked into a clothing store.  He looked back seemingly inadvertently, but he could see clearly that those idle men had been standing not far from the store entrance, yawning and catching lice, and their eyes had been staring at the store entrance intentionally or unintentionally - they did not hide it at all.  own shape and trace.

Meng Ju was slightly angry.  He flicked his sleeves and strode out, turning into an alley in an instant.  Several idle men got up and chased after him.  But after they passed a turning point, they reached the end of the alley. It was deserted and the person they wanted to follow was gone.

Several men panicked and started chattering: "What's going on? What's going on? Where are they?"

"Look for it quickly, look for it quickly!"

"Are you guys looking for me?" A clear voice sounded from behind. Meng Ju slowly walked out of the shadows, a dagger in his hand flashing with light, and his eyes were colder than the sword, and his body was just in the way.  He walked to the exit of the alley: "A few of you have been following me and I don't know what to say. Can you tell me now?"

Seeing Meng Ju holding a sharp sword and showing his murderous intent, several idle men were frightened to death: neither the identity of the man in front of them nor the dagger in his hand, they had the courage to resist.  They scrambled to kneel down and yelled "Sir, have mercy on me" and "Sir, have mercy on me".

    "Whose subordinates are you?"

"We are the Lame Five under Noodle Seven's subordinates, A Yao Zai's subordinates, Ding Ge's subordinates"

"Forget it, forget it, no need to say it."

A series of heroic names made Meng Ju dizzy, and he asked again: "Then do you know who I am?"

"I know, I know! Sir, youHe is the commander of Dongling Guards, a very big official!  "

Meng Ju was furious. He just thought the other party was a pickpocket who didn't know his identity.

"Now that you know my identity, you still dare to follow me - to spy on the imperial official's evil intentions, is Tang Noodles Seven Want to Die?"

The idle men had pale faces and kept shouting: "It's unjust, sir, it's unjust! We have good intentions!"

    "Um?"

The idle men scrambled to explain.  It turns out that these streets are home to Soup Noodles Seven. Lame Wu, the steward of this street, also went to Tianxiang Tower that night and met Meng Ju.  When he saw the new manager of the Jing'an Department passing by his place alone, Lame Five did not dare to neglect him, fearing that some unsighted thief or pickpocket would seize Meng Ju, so he hurriedly sent a few men to follow him secretly and guard him secretly.  On the way, he warned the third-rate and nine-sect members who were looking for food on the street not to have Meng Ju's ideas.

Listening to their explanation, Meng Ju was speechless for a long time.  Finally, he put away the dagger angrily and moved away from the exit of the alley: "Go back and tell Lame Five¡ªno, tell Tang Noodle Seven that if you dare to send someone to follow me next time, he won't have to hang out in Jingan City anymore¡ª  -roll!"

The idle men fled in a hurry, while Meng Ju waited in the alley for a while before going out.  He quickly turned two alleys and appeared on the street again. He no longer felt like he was being followed, and then he walked leisurely in the direction of Xinhe Tea Store.

The business of Xinhe Tea Shop is still deserted, and the waiter in Qingshan still looks sleepy.  But today was better than last time. There were two guests drinking tea and chatting there, and the arty Mr. Yi sat next to them and talked to them.

Seeing Meng Ju coming over, Mr. Yi glanced at him and said, "Please take a look first, sir! If you have any good tea you have selected, please call me."

    Meng Ju said calmly: "Okay."

The guests and Mr. Yi were drinking tea and chatting there. Meng Ju listened nearby. They were talking about the riot by the border troops last night. The two guests lived next to the mausoleum and vividly talked about the thrills last night.  .  Meng Ju listened for a while, and found out that what they said didn't have much substance. They just heard loud bangs and shouts of death coming from the mausoleum in the middle of the night. They didn't even dare to open the door to look, and hid in the mausoleum with their wives and children in their arms.  I trembled under the bed and prayed to God and Buddha for blessing, but I couldn't explain what happened.

Mr. Yi is a very good listener, although the guests always kept saying the same two sentences: "Oh, it's scary. It's really scary. The streets are full of soldiers, and there are large groups of battle armors roaring past"  "But he still looked like he was listening with great interest, and from time to time he would look at him with admiration and sigh: "It's really amazing! Fortunately, you two brothers are so courageous. If I were, why wouldn't I be frightened on the spot?"

Meng Ju was bored and had to concentrate on choosing tea leaves.  After walking around the shelf a few times, he picked half a catty of Tieguanyin and two ounces of Yuqian Longjing, and ordered the waiter to wrap the tea leaves. Watching the dignified waiter awkwardly weighing and packaging the tea leaves with lotus leaves, Meng Ju  I sneered in my heart: Those hands were obviously used to holding knives, and there were thick calluses at the tiger's mouth.

He asked in a low voice: "Dude, what's your surname?"

The thick-browed and big-eyed waiter stopped his hands for a moment and said, "Wan Gui, my surname is Xu."

"Oh, Brother Xu, where is your branch"

"He's also an errand boy. You won't be interested, sir." The waiter offered the tea bag respectfully: "Sir, Chenghui is fifteen taels a penny and two cents of silver. Thank you."

"You might as well rob someone named Yi!"

The tea leaves were wrapped and the guests over there also left.  Mr. Yi walked over and said seriously: "Guest, our Xinhe Tea Shop is a time-honored brand with many years of history and is famous for its integrity. It doesn't matter whether the transaction is successful or not, but guest, you should not ruin our reputation with such nonsense!"  This is a very serious matter. Guest, if you continue to talk nonsense like this, I will take you to see the official."

Meng Ju said disdainfully: "Get out! There's no one here, why are you pretending to be there! Is there a quiet place? Take me in, we have something important to say."

"Oh, oh, oh, you are so rude! Do you know who runs this store? The iron catcher of Jing'an Prefecture is my good brother. If you want to cause trouble, you'd better go to another place. Don't mess around, otherwise  I just want to make you feel better"

Mr. Yi stopped talking after being dragged into the secluded small room by Meng Ju.

He stared at Meng Ju and said dissatisfiedly: "Didn't I tell you not to come here randomly? You are now the head of the Dongling Guards in Jing'an. I don't know how many people are watching your every move. You always run to a tea shop.  What are you talking about? It will arouse suspicion! If anything happens in the future, just follow the code and send the message over."

Meng Ju was dissatisfied: "Can't the leader of Dongling Guard like drinking tea?"

"Bah! You stupid bird, you are the Xinling Guard at first glance! Just ask LanJust as he was going, he had to pay for tea with his own money?  "

Mr. Yi's face was full of sarcasm. He crossed his legs and waved his fan carelessly. His look was indescribably abominable: "Tell me, what's going on this time? Let me make a statement first: Don't ask me for money.  Even if you kill me, it won't work! Beifu's allocation is stuck again, and my living expenses this month are all earned by selling tea."

Meng Ju really wanted to ask for money when he came here this time, and he was immediately discouraged when he heard this.

He blinked: "Mr. Yi, I want to go back."

"Go back? Go back to Luojing? You should tell your boss Ye Canan about this. What's the use of telling me."

"No, go back to Southern Tang. Take me there."
