Volume 4: The Trace of the Sword is Lost Chapter 4: Shelter (Part 1)

Wang Yushan personally led Zhuang Yi into the door.  As he walked, he enthusiastically introduced the surrounding buildings to him.

Zhuang Yi knew that this small building in Xiyuan was just a stronghold of the sect.  The headquarters of the sect will never be in a big city.

There are many strongholds like this in Xiping Mansion. Most of these strongholds will have names like a certain guild hall, and I believe Xiyuan Xiaozhu is no exception.

The base camp of Xiyuan Xiaozhu is on Xiyuan Mountain, a hundred miles west of Xiping Mansion.  This is what he has heard in the past few days.

"Brother Wang, this place is so big. Will I practice here from now on?" Zhuang Yi sighed, like a country bumpkin who has never seen the world.

"Of course not." Wang Yushan patted him on the shoulder to show his affection, "Brother, with your qualifications, you must be a disciple in blue. As long as you practice hard, in a few years, you can become a disciple in yellow or even red.  Disciples are also possible.¡±

Zhuang Yi blinked and asked in confusion, "What are disciples in blue, disciples in yellow, and disciples in red?"

Wang Yushan is very patient.  Explained, "There are two types of disciples in the sect, one is the formal disciples, and the other is the preparatory disciples. The formal disciples can go to the mountain gate to practice, while the preparatory disciples can only stay in the villa."

After a pause, "Formal disciples are divided into five levels, wearing white clothes, blue clothes, yellow clothes, red clothes, and purple clothes. White clothes are entry-level disciples, whose strength is below that of martial disciples. Low-level warriors wear blue clothes, and middle-level warriors wear yellow clothes.  Clothes, top-grade warriors wear red. As for the purple-clothed disciples, they are all the most talented disciples in the sect. They must pass numerous examinations and must be recommended by two elders before they can become purple-clothed disciples."

As they were talking, the two of them had arrived at a courtyard. The courtyard was quiet. When they opened the door, they saw that it was full of people.

With a flick of the eye, dozens of eyes were focused on Zhuang Yi, who was half a step behind. Their eyes were full of scrutiny and caution.  After seeing his image clearly.  Most of the eyes turned a little disdainful.

"A country bumpkin." This is their voice.

Zhuang Yi is wearing a hunter¡¯s outfit today, which looks very simple.  As soon as he entered the door, he looked a little embarrassed.  No wonder these people think this way.  This is also the purpose he deliberately created.

"Hello, Deacon Wang." More than a dozen people shouted in unison.

Wang Yushan had a smile on his face, "Hello, fellow juniors." Although he is a deacon, he is only a deacon of the outer garden, and his status is very different from that of the inner deacon.  The only ones who could stay in this courtyard were at least the blue-clothed disciples within the sect, and he didn't dare to ask for help.

"Brother Yi, follow me." Wang Yushan walked through the crowd and walked to the door. He bowed respectfully, "Wang Yushan, the deacon of Waiyuan, asks to see my uncle."

"Come in." A calm voice came from inside.

Wang Yushan then opened the door and walked in.

Inside the house, there was an old man who looked to be in his sixties, dressed in black and with a delicate appearance.  He was sitting in the middle with his eyes half closed.

"Meet my uncle." Wang Yushan gave a big salute.

The old man flicked his sleeves and said, "Get up." His eyes opened instantly.  A cold light suddenly shines.

Zhuang Yi¡¯s whole body was covered with chills, and an extremely dangerous feeling arose in his heart.  Those eyes seemed to be able to see through everything.

"Uncle Master, his name is Yizhuang. He has passed the test. He is nineteen years old this year and is a newly promoted low-level warrior." Wang Yushan said respectfully.

The author withdrew his gaze.  Zhuang Yi breathed a sigh of relief in his heart. As soon as he relaxed, he felt a cool swish on his back, which was already wet with sweat.

"Yu Shan, you have done a good job. This year, you have recruited seventeen people with the level of disciples in blue, six of whom you brought. Your contribution is not small. Come here tomorrow to receive your reward. I hope you will come again  Keep up the good work. You go down first." The old man said slowly.

Yu Shan was overjoyed and quickly retreated.

Zhuang Yi and the old man were the only two people left in the room.

"Your name is Yizhuang?" After a while, the old man spoke.

"Yes, uncle." Zhuang Yi said at a loss.

"Uncle?" The old man smiled, "When you join the sect, it won't be too late to call me uncle. Let me ask you, are you willing to join our sect?"

"Disciple is willing." Zhuang Yi said excitedly.  His performance fits the image of a simple young man.

"Very good." The old man nodded, "Tomorrow, I will take you back to the mountain. Now, you go and stand in the yard. Those people outside will become your senior brothers. You can get to know them first."  "

"Yes, disciple, please leave." Zhuang Yi slowly withdrew and gently closed the door.

In the room, the old man closed his eyes again.

Zhuang Yi turned around, met a dozen looks with different meanings, and showed a simple and honest smile.

There were more than a dozen people in the yard, standing in two rows. He walked to the end, imitated their appearance, and stood there.

"My name is Li Xuebin." Standing next to Zhuang Yi was a young man in his early twenties, with a slightly round face and lively eyes. When he smiled, there was a dimple on the side of his mouth.

Zhuang Yi didn¡¯t expect him to take the initiative to talk to him. He was stunned for a moment before saying, ¡°My name is Yizhuang.¡±

Li Xuebin looked him up and down and said with a smile, "Brother Yi is less than twenty years old."

"This year is 19th." Zhuang Yi once again showed a simple and honest smile. He had practiced this smile in front of the mirror for a long time to lower others' wariness.

Li Xuebin¡¯s eyes lit up and he narrowed his eyes even more.  "Brothers who are less than twenty have the strength of warriors, and their future is limitless."

"Brother Li, thank you." Zhuang Yi touched his head in embarrassment.

"From now on, we are all brothers in the same discipline, so we need to take care of each other." Li Xuebin said, patting him hard on the shoulder.

    Zhuang Yi nodded vigorously.

"Let me introduce you." Li Xuebin whispered, "The person next to me is called" The name and age of everyone present.  It's hard for him to remember clearly.

Zhuang Yi listened carefully.  Including himself, there were eleven men in total in the small courtyard.  Six girls, all around 20 years old.  The oldest is twenty-five years old and a man.  The youngest is eighteen, a very thin girl.

The people present were all well-dressed and must have good family backgrounds.  Wearing a hunter's attire, Zhuang Yi looked very unusual among the crowd.  Except for Li Xuebin, everyone ignored him.

Li Xuebin is a very talkative person and kept talking to Zhuang Yi in a low voice.

"Li Xuebin, when you were inspecting the elder's house, what were you yelling at?" Opposite, a fair-skinned young man suddenly scolded.

Zhuang Yi remembered that Li Xuebin had just told him that this person's name was Zhou Yugang. From the flash of disgust on Li Xuebin's face, it could be seen that the relationship between the two was not good.  Sure enough, Zhou Yugang really spoke out.

Li Xuebin rolled his eyes and said without giving in, "Zhou Yugang, the patrol elder personally told us all to get to know each other. Didn't you hear? Brother Yi just arrived, and I was following the elder's instructions. What's wrong with me?"  Why are you deliberately obstructing me there? Do you want to deliberately destroy the friendship between our fellow apprentices and brothers?"

"You¡ª¡ª" Zhou Yugang was stunned by Li Xuebin, and his face turned red and white with anger.  A person next to him quickly grabbed him, fearing that he would lose his mind with anger and start a fight with Li Xuebin in the yard.

Zhou Yugang was not a fool, so he naturally would not have a conflict with Li Xuebin here, so he tolerated it immediately.  Finally, he glared at Li Xuebin and Zhuang Yi fiercely - actually making Zhuang Yi hate them too.

This is just a small episode, Zhuang Yi is watching with cold eyes.  Watch the reactions of everyone in the yard.  I found a lot of things.

The afternoon passed quickly, and until evening, no one came to this small courtyard anymore.

For some unknown reason, the elders in the room remained silent.  Without his instructions, the seventeen young people could only stand there, not daring to leave.

The people present may have good talents.  Except for Zhuang Yi, almost all the other sixteen people were from around Pingzhou Prefecture.  Has a good family background.  But the skills that the family can provide are already at their limit when it comes to the realm of a warrior.  One level higher and there's nothing they can do.

As a last resort, they will join a sect in order to go further in the martial arts.

In fact, such people are the favorite recruits of sects. Compared with ordinary people who have nothing, they have a better foundation.  Compared with people from big families, their families are weak, have scruples, and can guarantee their loyalty.

Zhuang Yi saw these information from the information that Mei Zhifang sent him every year.  Correspond to the situation at hand.

It wasn¡¯t until midnight that the old man¡¯s voice came from the room, ¡°You can go back. Come back at dawn tomorrow.¡±

Seventeen people saluted in unison and slowly withdrew.  There were servants waiting there to lead them to their residence.  It's a big courtyard, and everyone has their own small room.  Hot food is already on the table.

After Zhuang Yi finished eating, he meditated on the bed all night.

Before dawn the next day, Zhuang Yi opened his eyes and finished washing.Just when I was thinking of knocking on Li Xuebin's door next door, I saw him pushing the door open and coming out of the room.

"Good morning, Xiao Yi." Li Xuebin chuckled, "I was just about to call you, but I didn't expect you to be here earlier than me."

"Good morning, Brother Li." Zhuang Yi also smiled.

While the two of them were talking, the other doors were opened one by one.  Then we walked together to the small courtyard yesterday.

When we just arrived at the small courtyard, there were already three people standing there. I don¡¯t know how long they had been standing there.

Zhuang Yi thought to himself, "These three are really thoughtful people."

After a while, it was dawn, and with a "squeak", the door was pushed open, and the old man walked out.

"Hello, elder." The seventeen people's salutes were a bit messy.

    The leader led them outside.

At the entrance of Xiyuan Xiaozhu, a large group of people were already waiting there.  Zhuang Yi estimated that there were at least nearly a hundred people, most of them young.  The leader was a middle-aged man in black.

"Elder Jade." The middle-aged man saluted the old man.

"Deacon He, everyone is here?" the old man said calmly.

    "Yes."

    "Then, let's go."
