Late at night, cannons rumbled over Chicago.

Perhaps because they were used to night air raids from the coalition forces, the Americans in Chicago hid in the basement to rest as usual.

A curfew was imposed on the streets, and apart from the US troops who were moving back and forth, there was not a single person waiting.

At this time, the U.S. military headquarters was in chaos, which can be seen from the haphazard mobilization of the U.S. military.  As the coalition airborne to Chicago, armored combat vehicles flattened the U.S. anti-aircraft artillery positions, causing the Chicago air defense system to fail. More and more coalition transport planes landed safely at Ormore Airport, and a large number of coalition tanks, artillery and armed soldiers entered Chicago.  , putting the new capital into extreme crisis.

The Roosevelt administration spent huge sums of money to build the air base at Omore. More than two thousand U.S. military aircraft had no time to move from the underground hangar, and were captured by the Chinese imperialists along with tens of thousands of U.S. Air Force combat and ground staff.

The U.S. 29th Army, responsible for the ground defense of Chicago, responded hastily and set off from the Locke Military District in the north of Chicago. After an hour of rapid march, it encountered a regiment of the 3rd Armored Division of the Royal Guards of the Chinese Empire near the eastern suburbs of Chicago.

Although there were tens of thousands of U.S. troops, in order to reinforce Chicago as soon as possible and protect the security of the Roosevelt government, all U.S. troops went into battle lightly, with heavy weapons at the back.

The Chinese imperialists seized the opportunity to attack quickly while the U.S. military was insufficiently prepared and its foothold was unstable.  The Chinese Imperial Army used self-propelled artillery to suppress the hastily built defensive positions of the US military with fierce firepower. Then the armored fighting vehicles opened the way, and the powerful artillery fire quickly tore apart the US military's defense line.

"The U.S. military, relying solely on flesh and blood, is simply unable to fight against the Chinese imperialists' armored tanks and other steel behemoths.

Just after early morning, the position held by the 112th Division of the U.S. 29th Army's right-wing defense line was breached.  On the position of the 4th Regiment of the 112th Division, an entire infantry regiment was wiped out within ten minutes of entering the battle.  The attacking Chinese Imperial Army only had one reinforced company.

The most important reason for this disparity in battle results is the huge gap in equipment. The equipment of the Chinese Imperial Army is an era ahead of the US military, not to mention that the US military encounters the elite of the elite of the Chinese Imperial Army -  Royal Praetorian Guard.  The Royal Guards are all equipped with automatic firepower, tanks, self-propelled artillery, individual rocket launchers, automatic assault rifles and other weapons and equipment with a high degree of automation.  The US military only relied on outdated weapons such as rifles to resist, and the results are self-evident.

However, in order to defend the new capital, the US military did not lose momentum to the Chinese imperialists for the first time.  More than eight thousand American officers and soldiers of the 112th Division fought to the last man, and even committed suicide to die together with the Chinese Imperial Army. In the end, they won the respect of the Chinese Imperial Army opposite them at the cost of all death in battle.  For the Chinese imperialists who have always despised the US military.  This respect does not come easily.  It was earned with blood by the U.S. military.

Although the 112th Division won the respect of his enemies, this respect contained too much sympathy.  Faced with the overwhelming disparity in military strength, the Chinese Imperialist Army's tanks did not make any stop. The tanks rolled over the piles of American soldiers and moved toward downtown Chicago.

The U.S. right-wing defense line fell in the blink of an eye, and the 29th Army was forced to abandon its left-wing position and all retreated to the city, preparing for street fighting.

Street fighting is the battle that the Chinese imperialists are least willing to fight, so in the half hour before the US military retreats.  The Chinese Emperor sent a special force.  More than 160 members of the Hunter commando team landed quietly in Chicago's Wales Plaza in a transport helicopter. The commando team members were all white. They were wearing U.S. military uniforms and mingled among the chaotic U.S. troops without being discovered.

In fact, at this time.  No one will pay attention to them.  Within the US military headquarters, coalition spies are wreaking havoc. They assassinate key personnel of the command and issue false orders, causing the surrounding garrisons to run around, exhausted, but unable to reach where they really should go, so that the Hunter Commandos  Easily inserted right into the new White House.

    "Stop!"

In front of the new White House.  The Presidential Guard intercepted the Hunter Commandos, and a U.S. military officer came forward for questioning.

"Which department are you in? What are you doing here?"

"We are from the Security Command, and we have been ordered to protect the safety of the head of state!"

Hunter Commando Captain Smith-Lee stepped forward to talk.

"Sorry! We did not receive such an order, please leave immediately!"

Smith-Li¡¯s heart tightened.  Secretly asking why the insiders in the new White House haven't dealt with these people yet.  If they were blocked by these people, they would not be able to sneak in and capture or hunt down Roosevelt's key personnel.

    "Leave now!"

When the other party saw that Smith-Lee and others had no intention of leaving, considering the current tense and dangerous situation, the US military immediately became alert.??and flashed his weapon.

Smith-Lee took stock of the troop distribution and weapons configuration of the surrounding U.S. troops. The enemy occupied favorable terrain and was equipped with many light and heavy machine guns.  What made him grit his teeth was that the US military was actually equipped with the M2 heavy machine gun, the standard weapon of the Chinese Empire.  With such a super-killing weapon, it would be difficult for the hunter commandos to launch a surprise attack. Even if the surprise attack was successful, there would be heavy casualties.  What's more, doing so will scare the enemy away, and all previous efforts will be wasted.

    "Let's leave now!"

Just when Smith-Lee sighed and turned to leave, someone suddenly came out and stopped them.

"Wait a minute! By order of the Chief of Staff, the Security Command has been specially dispatched to help strengthen the defense of the National Assembly!"

Smith-Lee immediately breathed a sigh of relief, secretly thinking that this insider appeared just in time.

However, the US military officer seemed not to believe it and said in surprise: "How is it possible? Why didn't I receive the order?"

The person who came was Hawke, the secretary of the garrison headquarters. He said: "The order was just issued! Do you think this order is correct?"

The US military officer took the order and opened it to see that it was indeed correct.  However, he looked at Smith-Lee and his group with a soldier's intuition, and he always felt that something was wrong.

"You're so unfamiliar! Why isn't Lieutenant Colonel Carl Vinson from the Garrison Command here?"

"The headquarters has another task assigned to him!"

Smith-Lee¡¯s answer was very calm, with no flaws on the surface.  However, the problem was that there was no Carl Vinson in the headquarters, and the US military officer immediately became suspicious.  But his mistake was that he didn't have any doubts about the person who came to announce the order. Instead, he was worried that he would be hurt if he acted immediately. After all, Hawke was the secretary of the headquarters and the popular person in front of his immediate boss.

"Mr. Hawke, I have something to ask you. Let's talk over there."

Hawke exchanged glances with Smith, then turned and followed.

The two came to a hidden fortification in the distance, and the officer immediately said: "Mr. Hawke, please stay here. When the fight breaks out later, go and don't show your head. I will protect your safety."

Hawke was shocked and asked quickly: "What's wrong?"

The officer said: "They are not from the security headquarters, they are enemies! I think they are well-trained, they should be special forces!"

Before he finished speaking, the officer looked at Hawke in surprise, and then looked down at the dagger stuck in his chest in disbelief.

    "you¡¡"

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, I'm one of them too."

Hawkley dealt with the officer quickly, then came out and shouted as if nothing had happened: "Your commander and I are good friends. We are catching up on old times inside. You must follow the order immediately and change defense immediately!"

After saying that, Hawke went in again and closed the door.  The US military outside had no idea what was happening inside, so they obediently switched defenses with Smith and his party.

After Smith-Lee and others safely took over the defense here, they realized that Hawke had just saved their lives, and they immediately expressed their gratitude.

    "Time is running out!"

Hawke said quickly: "Roosevelt and the important members of Congress are preparing to evacuate. You must stop it immediately."

Smith nodded and said: "Don't worry! Leave the remaining tasks to us!"

    "Set off!"

Smith gave the order, and dozens of special operations team members quickly entered the building, preparing to behead Roosevelt and others.
