The ax drew an arc of light, forcing the other two desert warriors to retreat.  Brandik took a step forward and slashed wildly with a powerful and heavy blow. The crossed scimitar was easily cut off, and the ax blade cut open the chest of a desert warrior without losing force, and smashed it.  Broken his chest.  The man looked at Brandik with a pair of unbelievable eyes. Finally, the look in his eyes dimmed and he fell weakly to the ground.

"Brandik" Another desert warrior was so shocked that he forgot that he was still in the battle.  So when Brandik rushed towards him with the ax, he offered little effective resistance.  []

The heavy long-handled ax smashed through the opponent's defense, and the subsequent blow crushed the opponent's wrist.  There was a crisp sound of broken bones, accompanied by the desert warrior's miserable howl that shook the sky and was horrifying.  Brandik ran into the opponent's arms, and the momentum caused the opponent to groan and fall to the sky. At the same time, an arm flew into the air and slapped a relief statue of a lady above his head.

The desert warrior twitched in pain and huddled up.  Brandik's body enveloped him like the shadow of a hill.  The man raised his eyes and looked at the moonlight reflected on the ax surface in horror.  "Brandick," he shouted with difficulty, "open your eyes and look, it's us. We are your companions, not enemies!"

But Connor Brandick raised his ax high, and his back looked like a fully drawn longbow.

"Brandick!" Leo rushed down the last flight of stairs and shouted at him, "Stop, are you crazy?"

He turned around and glanced at Leo, his eyes as cold as ice, with a fleeting red light under his eyes in the dark night.  Those eyes were crazy, dangerous, and full of malice, and they all reminded Leo of the so-called old woman, the black sun they worshiped.  The whirling thoughts suddenly turned to the black morning light.

Leo suddenly felt heart palpitations, "Stop!" he shouted.

The ax fell calmly like a bolt of lightning, and the blood rushed into the sky like a fountain, splashing all over Brandik. He was like a blood-soaked demon, standing still in the rain of blood.  The stench of blood spread in the air, and a head rolled towards Leo's footsteps with unwilling and shocked eyes.

The alchemist stopped in fear, and the sound of rolling in his throat seemed particularly clear in the suddenly quiet corridor.  Rosie stood guard beside him holding a short crossbow, and Knight Tario stood in front of him holding a long sword.

"Stop," the knight shouted in broken Varian.

Brandik didn¡¯t say a word. He turned his head stiffly like a puppet, his eyes beating with madness and even more uncontrollable madness.  Leo felt uneasiness wash over him.  He was on alert.

"Brandick, did you believe that old woman's lie?" Leo tried to regain some of his opponent's consciousness. Except for the Tarrio knight who could fight him, he and Rosie had almost no way to resist.  "Did she bewitch you? What promise did she make to you?"

    "No." He said stiffly.  "Nothing."

"Then why did you become like this? You killed your brothers."

There was a moment of doubt on Brandick's face.  "They are enemies, heretics." His eyes were filled with hostility and the purest hatred.  "They all deserve to die."

"So you killed them?" Leo was extremely shocked.  He could never imagine that the desert warrior who was calm a few days ago and dared to maintain the tranquility and peace of the Silent Sanctuary would now look like this.  Apart from magic, witchcraft, and obsidian, he couldn't imagine anything else that could make him look like this.  "You killed the monk and you killed so many children?"

He neither admitted nor denied it.  "They are all unpardonable."

"You are the only one who is unforgivable," Rosie said angrily.

"There are you too. White Devil." Brandik's eyes almost stood up, holding a sharp ax with murderous intent.  "You are also heretics -"

"So," Leo stared intently into his eyes, "You want to come and kill us?"

"I'm waiting for you to come." Rosie raised the short crossbow between her eyebrows.

Brandik took a step toward them, "Come on!" the knight yelled.  The desert warrior was caught by the corpse at his feet.  He glanced down and without hesitation swung the ax and sliced ??off the corpse's arm.

    Leo felt chilled all over.

The other party suddenly stopped.  He tilted his head slightly, as if listening to distant sounds.  After a moment, he lowered his arms, stared at them with slightly red eyes, and then spoke dryly.  "Don't follow, white devil," he warned. "I advise you not to follow. Otherwise, your fate will be the same as them."

"Stop!" The knight chased after him, "Don't go anywhere."

The broad-edged heavy sword drew an arc and pointed directly at Brandik's back.  The whistling sound shook the eardrums.  However, in the blink of an eye, there was a crisp "clang" sound, and sparks burst out in the darkness. Knight Tario staggered backwards, his fingers opening and closing, unable to hide the pain in his arms.  His face even distorted.

"I told you not to come over." Brandik lost his patience. He bent down to pick up the machete on the ground and threw it towards them.  The force was so strong that the knight groaned and the sword almost came out of his hand.  The swirling blade brushed across Leo's face, causing him to break into a cold sweat.  He had never felt so close to death.  "Don't follow." Brandik warned again.  Leo could tell that he wouldn't show mercy again.

He walked very quickly and disappeared into the shadows around the corner in the blink of an eye.  The dull footsteps gradually faded away, and when they could no longer be heard, the alchemist took a long breath.  "I'd rather fight demons." He tried to cover up the tremor in his voice, but to no avail.  Finally he had to give up.  "Brandick, he is scarier than the devil."

Knight Tarrio nodded in shock.  He held the long sword with his left hand and stood up slowly.  Leo noticed that his legs were shaking too.  "His strength is like a monster. My hand almost broke. I doubt the arakkoa are any match for him." His trembling made Leo feel better.  "But what happened to him?"

"Magic has affected his mind." Leo looked into the darkness in the corridor.  At this time, a dark cloud suddenly floated in the sky, covering the crescent moon in the sky, and the surrounding area suddenly became dark.  "He is now at the mercy of our enemies."

But what do they do now?  The alchemist suddenly didn't know what to do.

"Where is he going?" Rosie asked.  "In front is the sanctuary."

"Want to go over and have a look?"

A corpse fell before them, that of a monk.  His head was split open, and brains and blood were smeared all over the floor.  They could barely tell what the other person looked like before.  After walking a few steps forward, two more people were lying in a pool of blood. One was lying on the statue in the aisle, and his whole figure seemed to have been blown away and hung on it. The other was in terrible shape, with his intestines flowing all over the floor.

Leo suddenly noticed a detail that they had ignored before.  But out of caution, he kept it in mind and didn't say a word.  Not even a word was mentioned about Rosie, not even a hint.

The screams were endless, and Leo could no longer endure his timidity and caution.  They ran wildly in the corridor, passing through shadow after shadow, and the eyes of the statues on both sides watched them with pity and ridicule.  But Leo felt that those who died and were bound in stones were probably more terrified and desperate.

The door of the temple was open, and Leo jumped in first with his sword in hand.

Two boys lay at his feet, nearly hanging him down with their frightened hands trying to grab something.  During a moment of staggering, he saw the stained glass windows shattered to the ground, reflecting the desperate colored light.  The curtains hanging from the walls were torn off, the benches were smashed to pieces, and everything that could burn was piled under the statues of the gods.  Each stone statue showed weakness of shock and helplessness, and Leo even thought they would leak cat urine.

Brandik stood on the high platform of the statues of the gods.  He watched Leo walk into the church, with no strange look on his face.  "I knew you were coming," he said, "mind your own business."

Leo stared at him closely, moving slowly, calculating the distance.  He put his left hand behind his back and gestured to Rosie.  Their chances are slim and they must be confident before they dare to act.

"Stop going forward, white devil." Brandik's eyes narrowed, like a sharp sword, "I know what you are planning to do. Stop, otherwise don't blame me for being rude."

Leo sighed regretfully, still a few steps away.  Now they had to stand under the high platform.  The alchemist pointed at the sluggish gods, "Are you going to burn them?"

¡°My answer is obvious,¡± Brandik said.

The candle flame was burning on the copper candle stand beside him, and the dancing firelight illuminated his stubborn and twisted face.

    "Why do you do this?"

¡°I think you know the answer, you don¡¯t need me to say any more nonsense.¡±

¡°I¡¯m not happy at all to hear this now,¡± the alchemist said. ¡°I would rather hear you say this at another time and on another occasion. But now it will only make me feel like I am the culprit.¡±

"It has nothing to do with you, white devil." Brandik told him, "It was someone else who helped me realize the reality."

Leo couldn¡¯t imagine anyone else.  "Old woman?""She is a beautiful woman. I don't want to say her name."

"Magic is ever-changing, enough to cover up a person's appearance, let alone in dreams and meditation."  But the answer is imminent.  "Mother of the Desert?" Rosie sneered coldly, one step ahead of him, "A rotting corpse covered in maggots?"

Brandick raised his axe.  "You will see her in the fire¡ª"

"Brandick, stop!" came the extremely angry shout of the red-robed monk at the door, "I order you, stop!" He strode into the temple, and several desert warriors rushed past him.  .

"Don't come over." Brandick waved the ax, "Otherwise, you will watch them turn into ashes."

"What's wrong with you, Brandick?" His brother asked in confusion, with a look of fear and uneasiness on his face.  "How did you become like this? You are blaspheming the gods."

"Blasphemy?" Brandik kicked a warrior-like statue, and the desert warriors screamed and prayed.  "This is considered blasphemy, right? But have you seen anyone punish me? What about divine punishment?" He swung his ax and chopped off large pieces of debris from the statue.  "I'm just trying to stop this falsehood."

    "What lie?"

    "About faith, about gods."

"Shut up!" the red-robed monk shouted.

Brandik sneered from the high platform, "The gods are dead. They have long been unable to answer our prayers." He glanced at his fellow brethren with a wild look.  "Which of you has had your prayers answered? If you still don't believe it, then look at the white devils around you. A group of unbelieving people, they are still living well until now."

The red-robed monk took a deep breath, "Stop your nonsense, Brandik." He shouted, "You have been bewitched and deceived by magic. Your magic barrier controls you. Monk Mario is right, you  Already betrayed us. Even betrayed us to earthly lords. Do you want to completely destroy this place?"

"You think I did that?" Brandick sneered and refused to argue.  "Then just think it was me. Anyway, I really want to destroy this place, smash every stone statue, and knock down every temple."

    "Are you crazy?"

"No, I'm not crazy. I've never been more sane than now." Brandik ignored the red-robed monk and looked at his colleagues.  "Do you remember where this place is? Do you remember what you suffered here? Endless training, punishment. Even staying with quicksand, watching our friends sink into the quicksand and suffocate to death This is our life,  These are the so-called rules of the gods! What are we? We are human beings, not tools to fight for the illusory gods!" He looked at the red-robed monk coldly, "And we are not puppets to fight for some people."

"That's enough! Brandik, Shupiao Astronomy Network." the red-robed monk roared.  He gestured to the desert warriors, but his order seemed to be questioned. They took a few steps forward, but stopped for some reason.  They looked at the red-robed monk, then at the alchemist, and then turned their attention to Brandik. Finally, they looked at each other several times and put down their swords dejectedly.  "I'm sorry, Monk Ashborn, wewe can't do it."

"Okay, very good." Ashborn was furious.  He snatched the scimitar from a desert warrior's hand and said, "Since you can't do that, then get out of here all of you! Get out of here right now! Remember to keep your mouths shut, and please think of who came from  Found you in dog piles and garbage dumps. Get out of here, all of you!¡±

The desert warriors left guiltily.  "Close the door!"

    ¡°Why not let them stay?¡± Brandik sneered, ¡°Because you¡¯re afraid they¡¯ll hear the truth?¡±

"The truth lies in your heart." Ashborn cut off the obstructing robe corner with a knife, "Your beliefs are too narrow, Brandik. I am convinced that even if the gods are alive, you will never become a paladin."

"I never thought about it either."

"It seems that you have even forgotten your own past." Ashbourne wrapped a rag around his wide sleeves. "You have forgotten who you were. You are no longer yourself. I really want to know, that old man  What did the woman say to you?"

"I also want to know." Leo said to him, "Since you don't believe in the gods, what about the Mother of the Desert? Have you turned to believe in her? The gods are dead, and no one can call them gods. You are still any  Poor thing manipulated by others. What promise did that old woman, or the beautiful girl in your eyes, make to you? To easily destroy your years of persistence? I find it unbelievable."

"There are countless things that are unbelievable." Rosie said calmly, "I do think that the woman seduced him." The sarcasm seemed to hit the target.?Brandick's expression changed slightly, but it was still accurately captured by them.  "Aha," Rosie couldn't hide her laughter, "A samurai who committed a crime of lust and caution."

"Shut your stinky mouth!" Brandick shouted angrily.

"Do you know what I'm thinking of?"

    "What?"

    "A male cat in heat."

This sentence completely burned out Brandik's remaining sanity. He cursed and rushed towards them.  He took long strides on the high platform, and his anger drove him to ignore everything. Only Rosie, who laughed and ridiculed his goddess, was in his eyes.  In the first step, he took two steps away from an ordinary person. In the second step, he had stepped on the edge of the high platform Then he jumped up directly, raising his hands above his head, the ax reflecting the moonlight, full of anger and  Hate.

"I've been waiting for you for a long time." Rosie raised the crossbow to her cheek.

The crossbow string buzzed, Brandik's ax blade flashed, and the crossbow arrow turned upward with a metallic scream, spiraled into the air, and finally hit the eye of a god.  In a sense, it's on target.

"He actually blocked it" Rosie groaned, "Just blocked it in the air¡ª¡ª"

"Get away!" Leo knocked away the sluggish female mage and faced Brandik's powerful blow on her behalf.  He quickly sketched a seal, and the invisible wind gathered into a battering ram, fiercely hitting his ax and knocking his attack aside. The desert warrior who lost his support lost his balance like a top and fell down.

Knight Tarrio took a step forward, shouted loudly, and pointed his sword at Brandik's chest.  However, the desert warrior actually stretched out his left hand. Similar to what Leo had done before, he blocked the knight's blow with his fragile arm, and with a painful roar, he forcibly twisted his body, stepped aside, and avoided  He picked up the scimitar drawn by Ashbern.

Brandick panted briefly, leaning against the high platform.  "Death to you all," he said with hatred, "Death to you all, infidels."

"Let's wait and see." Rosie snorted and reloaded the crossbow.  This one shone with the sheen of poison.  She smiled ferociously and said, "Let's see."

Brandick suddenly sneered. He grabbed a chair leg on the ground and threw it towards the candle holder.  The candle holder fell down, and the flames immediately burst into flames.  "Then let's wait and see." He stared at each of them closely, "Let's see who can get out of here."

"It won't be you." Leo tightened his grip on the sword.

However, Ashborn stopped him and said, "Get out of the way." In the light of the sky, the red-robed monk held a scimitar, as if he had become the warrior Dalma again.  "He is my disciple. Everything about him was taught by me one by one. This battle belongs to us. Brandik, look at me, if you still think you are a warrior, then kill me to prove it.  .¡±
