    (1)

A group of us rushed to the Port of Vis after a long journey. Stanton found a merchant ship called "Dawn" and sailed to "Berestia" early tomorrow morning.

Seeing that it was still early, after we put our luggage on the boat, we planned to go to the "half-day" village for a stroll. Except for Montetier and I, no one else had been there yet.

When I arrived at Banri Village, I went to the Skeleton Tavern and raised the bounty for looking for Xiu Ting and Fat Ball to 5 gold coins.  I earned almost 20 from joining the theater troupe) and then changed my contact person to Bishop Marga of Hathvi.

We happily wandered around Banri Village until midnight, and everyone gained a lot: Monteil bought a "Mapping of the Distribution of Continental Plants"; Bitril bought some rare condiments; Stanton bought a book with a skull mark on the top.  Captain's hat; I bought a lot of fireworks along the way (this guy has never seen fireworks since he was a child); I bought a beautiful pirate dagger.  (I plan to practice close combat with Stanton after I get on the ship. After all, I have 10 days to kill.)

That night we returned to the Dawn, and I slept in the cabin for the first time in my life.  The gently swaying hammock made me feel like I was back in my childhood cradle.

I woke up from the noise and found that the ship was almost leaving the port and was undergoing a routine inspection by the Coast Guard at the entrance of the bay.

After careful inspection, the soldiers politely gave us a military salute, then boarded the boat in which they came, and slowly left.  At this time, a flag with the sea god "Sepetan" on it was unfurled in the wind on the lighthouse outside the port. The captain said that it was the port of Vis wishing us a safe journey!

    "Goodbye! Weiss!" "Goodbye! Hathway!"

We couldn¡¯t help but wave to the port.

About a quarter of an hour later, the "Dawn" sailed out of the bay, all sails were unfolded, and it rushed into the vast sea at full speed.

    (3)

It¡¯s really not a good idea to take a boat in winter. I regretted it as soon as I left the bay of Visport: the biting cold wind howled by, and in a short time everything that might block it would freeze into popsicles.

"The Bearded" Gobowa, the captain from "Riparnes" (a seaport city in the Kingdom of Galin) said:

"We are still sailing in the warm current zone. One day later, when we enter the cold current zone, you will realize what "cold" means."

"Dawn" is a prized ketch 200 paces long and 30 paces wide. The cabin is divided into upper and lower floors, and the upper floor is the sailor's cabin. (Everyone lives in the sailor's cabin, but part of it is separated.  That was the captain's quarters and our quarters and the kitchen.) The lower level was the godown (where the horses and cargo were).  Although the "Dawn" could only carry 40 people at full capacity, it was already considered a large ship in the mainland at that time.

The first day on the boat was fine, and even I, a landlubber, didn¡¯t feel much discomfort. But on the second day, when the Dawn entered the cold zone mentioned by Captain Gaobova, the situation was completely different.

When we entered the cold current zone, the horizon of the mainland was already invisible. The wind was lighter, but the temperature was obviously much lower.  Except for the sailors who had to stay on deck, the rest took refuge in the cabins.  The small cabin was overcrowded and the air became very turbid.  With the undulating waves of the "Dawn", the always "delicate" Qifa Knight was the first to vomit.

"Damn you monster! What did you eat? Vomiting smells so bad? I'll spit it out!" Stanton was the closest to him. He was about to stand up and run away, but unexpectedly he started to vomit as well.

Bitril hid by the window, holding back vomiting, her face turned pale from holding back.

"Let's go, Dubor. Let's go up and get some air." Montetier put down the book in his hand, stood up and opened the hatch.

I glanced at Bitril, and the images of the cold outside and the vomiting in the cabin kept reappearing in my head, hey.  I weighed it for a long time and finally got out of the cabin.

There was obviously a layer of ice on the deck of the Dawn.  As soon as I stepped onto the deck I fell.

"Hehe! DuBoer. I thought you wouldn't fall?" Montetier was sitting not far from me, playing with his wooden mask. It seemed that this guy also had a bad fall.

I tried my best to hold on for a few times, but found that I couldn't stand up no matter what.

"Here, put this on." Captain Gao Bowa walked up to me at some point.

A pair of shoe soles with nails or a wooden board?

"These are called nailboard shoes. If you don't have them on the boat in winter, you can't even think about walking." Gao Bowa explained to us kindly.

Montetier and I finally put on our spiked sneakers. After falling a few times, I could barely walk.

Now I don¡¯t feel cold at all.  Montetier and I excitedly walked to the stern of the ship and watched the helmsman steering the ship with great interest in the cockpit, chatting nonsense with the sailors.

"Attention, there is ice floating ahead! Port side! Port side!" A middle-aged sailor responsible for communicating with the lookout on the mast suddenly shouted.

"How far is it? Can it be knocked away?" Gao Bowa commanded calmly.

"500 steps! You can knock it away!" the communications sailor replied loudly, staring at the flag in the lookout's hand.

Following a series of instructions from the captain, the "Dawn" adjusted its bow and crashed into the ice floe ahead.

    "Hurry up!"

Before Captain Gao Bowa finished speaking,

    "Boom!"

    "Click! Click!"

I only felt the hull of the boat shaking violently. I couldn't stand still and fell down again.

A strong arm helped me up when my head was about to hit the ground. I looked up and saw that it was the middle-aged sailor who was delivering the order.

"Thank you! Thank you, friend." I shook the sailor's big hands firmly.

"No, no need. Sir Knight, no need." The sailor looked very uneasy and kept bowing.

"Montetier, Montetier, are you okay?" I motioned to the sailor not to bow, and then looked for Montetier.

"Hey! It's okay! Oh, my butt." Montether got up from the deck at this moment. It was obvious that his butt was firmly hit.

    "Ha ha ha ha!"

Having escaped the disaster, the sailors and I laughed loudly in unison.

During the two days after entering the cold current zone, the "Dawn" has been traveling through the ice floes, and from time to time it will hit the invisible ice under the water.  As for these invisible killers, we can only hope it doesn't get too big.

The weather is very good today, not so cold, and even the cold wind that was roaring has stopped.  This was the fourth day of our voyage, and certainly the first day that Stanton and Yulfa stopped vomiting.

Everyone was in a good mood and climbed onto the deck to bask in the sun.  Montetier and I stood on the bow and talked about the man in black.

"Hi, DuBoer. Do you think the daggers of the man in black and the fat man Barenci are special?" Montetier said leisurely, looking at the vast sea.

"Well, those daggers are very well-made, and they are definitely not something ordinary people can afford. Judging from the number of black-robed men we found, those daggers and horses cost at least nearly a hundred gold coins." I said.

"Yes! Although there are many people with this financial strength in the empire, I think there are not many people who can train those black-robed men who are not afraid of death." Montetier took over my words.

"Indeed, you can imagine the way those guys committed suicide. I still feel terrible." I raised my chin subconsciously, "Hey! You really treat human life as nothing."

"Dipor, I'm a little worried about this mysterious force. I don't know if they will do anything in the knight competition." Montetier turned his head and looked at me.

"I hope not!" I said softly.

Although I am also very worried, I am afraid that my friends will be hurt, but besides worrying, I really don¡¯t know what to do?

    (6)

"Look! Flying fish!" Beatle shouted excitedly.

"Wow! Such a big group!" Everyone on the deck saw this group of silver flying fish jumping out of the sea one after another.

"Yifa, why are you standing there? Go and get the net over there." Stanton shouted to Yifafa while lying on the side of the ship.

"Boom! Boom" He ran happily to the other end, and the deck under his feet let out a painful cry.

"I'll fork it!" Captain Gao Bowa was shocked and turned pale.

"Turn the helm! Keep your balance! That big guy is awesome, stop right there! Don't run around!"
