    Chapter 327 Underground City

There was a friction sound of something approaching quickly from the alloy pipe, which was transmitted from somewhere deep underground to the checkpoint.  The sound came from far to near, and something quickly rose up from the ground.

"Clang" sounded like the sound of some kind of vehicle hatch opening. Yi Lexiang held his breath and remained motionless.

"It's time to change the shift." A voice shouted, and the age of the voice was similar to that of the people at the checkpoint.

A wisp of spiritual filaments peeled off from the spiritual power net scattered in the space and covered the transportation shuttle carrying people.  No one noticed anything strange.  Silently, a gap opened in the alloy channel, and Yi Lexiang dodged in and stuck firmly to the rear of the traffic shuttle.  A trace of spiritual power smoothed the cracked gap again, and everything was done quietly without disturbing anyone.

Through the cold metal wall, Yi Lexiang could hear the light footsteps of Mance and others walking into the traffic shuttle.  After a while, the spherical metal carrier broke away from the checkpoint and headed underground.  As the shuttle continues to penetrate deeper into the ground, the cold is gradually dissipated.  The air seems thicker and the gravity is much stronger. The harsh living environment becomes more suitable for human survival as the transportation shuttle continues to penetrate deeper into the ground.  From this point of view, this is not a crude temporary base that can be abandoned at will.  Yi Lexiang thought to himself.

The sound of people gradually faded away, and the surroundings returned to silence again.  Under the heavy wrapping of the mental power net, Yi Lexiang cautiously poked his head out.  This is a huge underground building complex. Calling it a base may not be appropriate enough. It is more like an underground city.  The roof almost exceeds the limit of ordinary people's sight. Yi Lexiang can imagine that if it were on the surface of a planet, this must be a huge building towering into the clouds.  Countless honeycomb-shaped round holes are all over the walls that wind upwards with no apex visible. Each round hole should be the entrance to a tunnel.  Dark green transparent pipes like ice crystals are intertwined. From time to time, one spherical traffic shuttle passes through them, and a figure can be vaguely seen sitting among them.

Yi Lexiang jumped off the traffic shuttle and looked around.  The ground is covered with shining lines of various colors, which seem to be some kind of road signs.  He walked slowly along the passage where Mance and the others had just left the traffic shuttle. The lines on the ground showed blue, which seemed to be the most numerous of all colors.  The mental power network spread overwhelmingly again, and he felt the noisy voices through several alloy walls. It seemed that this place really was an underground city.  The range within the reach of the spiritual power network is filled with all kinds of free spiritual power, and no ordinary people's breath can be sensed.  Could it be that this is a city composed entirely of spiritual people?  Yi Lexiang couldn't help being shocked.  Even if the mental strength of these mental power users is not strong, it is still quite shocking.

Suddenly, low footsteps came from the corridor, uniformly.  Judging from the orderliness of their footsteps, the person coming should be a guard force similar to a guard or an army.  Yi Lexiang glanced around and there seemed to be no hiding place, and there were no other branches where he was.  In desperation, he had to stand quietly on the left side of the corridor, his mental power running at high speed, ready to kill the opponent at any time.

"What's the matter with you?" he asked with a hint of impatience in his voice.

"" Yi Lexiang didn't know how to answer, so he could only respond silently.  He had made up his mind that if the situation went slightly wrong, he would kill all the twelve-man team on the spot.

"Do you still need to ask? Another kid who wanders around and gets lost. These newcomers always like to wander around."

A trace of embarrassed sneer immediately appeared on Yi Lexiang's cold face.  There seemed to be room for maneuver, and someone had already found a good reason for him.

The person who asked the question earlier was a bearded man wearing a dazzling red uniform. He seemed to accept his companion's explanation and casually looked at the blue lines at Yi Lexiang's feet.  "Blue student?" There was a trace of disdain on the big face, "Didn't your instructor read you the rules here?" He gently tapped the cold metal bulkhead with his thick palm, making a crisp echo.  .  "These walls will block spiritual exploration. Don't go to areas you are not familiar with. Damn it, is this the first poor lost lamb we have found this week?" He turned back and asked his deputy.

"The seventh one!" the deputy replied coldly.

"Did you hear that, boy? The seventh one! Oh my God, our daily job is to show you the way. Soth, give him a map and let him find his way back. I don't want to put all the  Time is wasted on these self-righteous brats.¡±

"Pa", someone threw a map at Yi Lexiang's feet.  Yi Lexiang didn't know how he should react at this time, so he could only stand with his hands down, and the sneer on his face became even brighter.  At least he understood that the ¡®blue students¡¯ were not well received here. When someone sees someone, the other person's contempt for him is not concealed at all, and everything seems to be taken for granted.

The sound of footsteps gradually faded away until the figures of the guards disappeared around the corner.  Only then did Yi Lexiang bend down and pick up the map that seemed to be made of some kind of plant fiber that was thrown at his feet.  Do these walls also block psychic powers?  He looked confused.  However, it is obvious that the people here do not know each other.  This provided some convenience for his 'exploration'.

Lauder, quietly caressing the crystal ball in his hand, the faint blue and incandescent light were entangled like a whirlpool, spinning constantly, making people obsessed.  There is some kind of strange power in the things Yang Haojun brought back from the outside.

"What a pity." Lauder shook his head regretfully and carefully placed the crystal ball in his hand back on the base of the table.  Several young researchers immediately gathered around and stared at the changing light in the crystal ball with curious and obsessed eyes.

"Brother Lauder, why don't you let the emissary keep that thing? It seems that we don't need to be afraid of those deceitful 'magic sticks' of the League of Gods."

"The emissary has the mission of the emissary. We cannot interfere. After all, we have been away from this world for too long, and many things are different from when we left." Lauder sighed, time is eternal in that place,  But here time keeps moving forward.  It is true that this world has endless resources and a much better living environment, but compared with eternal life, how insignificant all of this seems!  He really didn't understand why the aloof 'Venerable' always wanted to return to this world, and even spent his power to send generations of secret envoys back to this world.

    "Brother Laud? Brother Laud?"

Lauder was awakened by a burst of hurried shouting, "Haha, I always like to lose focus as I get older." He explained self-deprecatingly.

Several young monks smiled in understanding.  In that boring but eternal place, wandering around is almost everyone's way of passing time.  This is nothing to be surprised about.

"Brother Lauder, the 'negative energy' seed given by His Holiness last time was taken away by Envoy Casprei. Did he say what he wanted the 'seed' for?"

"It seems like it was given to an outsider!"

"Ah! This is simply a tyrannical creature."

"Haha, it's not that serious." Lauder waved his hand indifferently, "He asked for my opinion in advance on this matter. I agreed. After all, according to the first sequence of His Majesty's orders, who is Yi Lexiang?  The first problem to solve.¡±

"It's a pity that Yi Lexiang is still alive and well, but the person who obtained the 'seed' disappeared without a trace." A young monk curled his lips.  Those of them who came out of that place had no good impression of the people who had been living in this world.  Even though generations of emissaries have sacrificed their eternal lives in order for the organization to return to the world, it seems that this sacrifice cannot earn their respect.  "I don't understand. Why does Your Majesty pay so much attention to that Yi Lexiang?"

A layer of frost immediately covered Lauder's face, "We should not question His Majesty's decision. There must be a reason for His Majesty to do this. We just do it and don't ask why. Do you understand?"

    "Yes! Brother Laud!"

Yi Lexiang wandered aimlessly in the dungeon.  Everything here was so novel. After careful observation, he discovered an interesting phenomenon.  The people here seem to be divided into two parts. Some people look like they are from the outside world. Most of them are young people. It is best to distinguish these people, but the status of these people here does not seem to be too high.  The other group of people looked a little weird in his eyes. These people seemed to be very young from their external appearance, but their facial expressions were slightly stiff. The most important thing was that Yi Lexiang felt something familiar in them.  A sense of vicissitudes of life.  Just like what he showed after traveling through subspace.  These people are very few in number, but their status is high.

Another thing that is very difficult to understand is that there are almost no electronic devices here.  If those who behave strangely can be explained by the fact that they have been in some kind of isolated environment, then the absence of any electronic equipment would be a bit strange.  Technology has become a part of human life, and even organizations like the Akashic Order cannot completely abandon the existence of technology.  Even the most devout believers in 'spiritual supremacy' need to use aircraft to travel in space.  Here he could see almost no electronic instruments, no identification systems, no floating aircraft. Even the vehicles that kept shuttling through the dark green transparent pipes were driven by mental power.  This is totally a place with YileA completely different place from the world Xiang knew.  A group of guards in red uniforms passed by him, and he even discovered that these people were not wearing weapons such as firearms, but various cold weapons with strange shapes such as long swords.  He hadn't noticed this before.
