Chapter 1: Waking up from the dream still feels like an old dream ()

Zhang Kuang slowly opened his eyes, the sunlight pierced into his eyes, he stretched out his hands to cover his eyes, and looked around.

The woods are dark, the birds are chirping, and the sun is rising, ushering in the red light. Zhang Kuang wonders to himself: "Where is this place? Am I not dead? Is this a paradise?"

Zhang Kuang pinched himself, and clear pain came through, he was not dead!  Zhang Kuang was shocked and doubtful, and looked around.  Birds were flying around, and Zhang Kuang found himself in a contiguous forest.

"Didn't I get shot? How come I'm here again?" Remembering that a bolt of lightning seemed to have struck before his death, Zhang Kuang was puzzled and then relieved, "Just live, why do you care so much?"

Zhang Kuang stood up, feeling hungry, and wanted to find something to fill his stomach.  There were many birds in the woods, but I had no tools in my hands. After searching around for a long time, I found two fruit trees.

There were immature fruits on the fruit trees, and Zhang Kuang couldn¡¯t care less about them, so he picked some and ate them in a few mouthfuls.  The fruit is somewhat sour and has a pungent bitter taste.  After eating one arrogantly, I never wanted to eat the second one.

Zhang Kuang endured his hunger and walked along the forest path for about half an hour when he suddenly heard the sound of water flowing.

He stepped up his pace, and at the end of the forest path, a small stream flowed.

??He rushed forward wildly, fell into the stream, and took a few sips of the cool stream water.  Zhang Kuang was about to touch some fish and shrimp when he saw his reflection in the water and couldn't help but froze.

"It turns out that I am already dead."

The reflection on the water showed a face that was no more than ten years old, but with sharp eyebrows and starry eyes, a hanging nose and a red mouth, he was handsome and suave, and he was many times more handsome than he was before!

Only then did Zhang Kuang realize that what he was wearing was not a prison uniform, but a short brown cloth coat with long hair tied up. It turned out to be an ancient costume!

Looking at the new self in the water with complexity, in ancient times?  Could it be that he traveled through time?  What dynasty?

Zhang Kuang sat blankly by the stream for a long time, and suddenly Zhang Kuang laughed loudly, as if he had encountered the most ridiculous thing in the world!

"Little brother, what are you laughing at?" A strong and powerful voice sounded from behind him.

Zhang Kuang replied: "Laugh at the ridiculous things in the world."

Zhang Kuang looked back, but he was an old man with a white beard, about fifty, his hair was already gray, but his eyes were like lightning, like swords, and like spears!

The white-bearded old man smiled, pointed at the tears in his eyes, and asked, "Then what are you crying about?"

"Weep over the pathetic people in the world." Zhang Kuang said.

"Good!" The white-bearded old man stroked his palms happily and said, "What a man who laughs at the ridiculous things in the world and cries about the pathetic things in the world! Good, good!"

The white-bearded old man said three words in a row, and then asked arrogantly: "What dynasty is it now?"

"The ninth year of Yixi, the Dewen Emperor of the Shenwu Dynasty." The white-bearded old man replied.

? Crazy and dumbfounded, isn¡¯t it China?  !  Shenwu Dynasty?  There was no such dynasty in Zhang Kuang's memory, let alone Emperor Dewen.

If it¡¯s not China, then the history he knows is completely useless.

Collecting his mind, Zhang Kuang sighed and asked: "Where is the big town?"

The white-bearded old man thought for a while, pointed in one direction and said: "Twenty miles ahead, there is Guanyue City, eastward to Mirage City, and westward to Yingyang City. To the north is Chitian City, the capital of the country, and to the south is Ye  Cloud City.¡±

Zhang Kuang just wants to find a town so that he can understand the world as soon as possible.

Zhang Kuang clasped his fists and saluted, then said goodbye and left.

Twenty miles, ten thousand meters, I walked frantically for hours before I finally found it.

Guanyue City is a prosperous and prosperous city. The street is seven feet wide and can accommodate fourteen carriages. The street is full of people, with hawkers, licensed goods, and noisy people!

"Zhang Kuang has the feeling of being reborn as a human being. I'm afraid the "Along the River During the Qingming Festival" painted by Zhang Zeduan in the Song Dynasty is just like this.  Standing on the corner of the street, you can feel its prosperity!

After asking around, Zhang Kuang found the ferry wharf. He saw the dock workers loading and unloading the cargo ships, and stepped forward and asked, "Where is the foreman?"

The dock worker pointed to a place, thanked him arrogantly, and walked towards that place.

There was a pile of white silver coins on a chair at the head of the room, and a big man sat on the chair.

The big man saw Zhang Kuang and asked, "Are you here to recruit workers?" Zhang Kuang nodded.  The big man looked at Zhang Kuang and frowned. Although Zhang Kuang's face was handsome, he didn't look like a strong man.

"I can do any dirty work," he said arrogantly.

The big man pointed to the back and said: "Two cents a day"

twoThere is not much money, but it is enough for one person's daily needs in Guanyue City.  One penny can buy five vegetable and meat buns and ten large white steamed buns.

Zhang Kuang knew that this was the foreman's lenience. Those strong men could only earn three pennies a day, but it was already very good for Zhang Kuang to have two pennies.

Although Zhang Kuang is a little skinny now, his physique is good, and he is several times stronger than when he was infected with poison in his previous life.  It's not too strenuous to carry it up and down.

Zhang Kuang finished the last bag of rice, took two cents from the foreman, found a stall, and ordered a bowl of rice porridge, two vegetable and meat buns, and three steamed buns.  All this amounts to exactly one penny.

The rice porridge is very clear, with only a few grains of white rice, or it may be more appropriately called rice soup.

Zhang Kuang didn¡¯t say much, even though he saw that the rice in other people¡¯s bowls was slowly whitening.  He knew that something like this would definitely happen, to deceive students.

?? Crazy ate up all the food on the table and walked towards the south of the city.

He inquired very clearly that the south of the city is a slum area with many dilapidated houses, many of which are abandoned and can be used as a place for beggars and refugees.

The sun has already set in the west and the moon is rising high in the sky.

The reason why Guanyue City has this name is precisely because when the moon is full in the sky, Guanyue City can see the full moon in full view!

Zhang Kuang doesn¡¯t know why the same culture and the same language as in ancient China have been formed in this world. He is not a god and he doesn¡¯t understand.

Zhang Kuang lay on a clump of hay mat, looking up at the moon through the broken roof.  He was not sleepy, but he was still worried.

The moonlight is cool, and so is the arrogant heart.

No one knows the pain in his heart. He is not from this world, his soul is from another world!

That is a kind of loneliness!  An indescribable loneliness.

It¡¯s like a dream, but I wake up from the dream.
