The Chinese army, which had broken through the overwhelming momentum in the Far East battlefield, encountered some troubles only in one small place:

    Moscow!

The previous plan was to end all operations in Russia by the end of 1940.  There were no problems in the previous battles. The Chinese Army won successive victories in Russia and quickly advanced the front to Moscow, forming an attack on Moscow.

"But the Bolsheviks' determination and intensity in maintaining this "Red Temple" far exceeded the imagination of the Chinese.

President Wang Hengyue once said to the command palace on the front line that no matter how smooth the previous battles were, once they hit Moscow, they must be prepared for a hard and fierce battle.  No one is willing to hand over his last place of survival to his enemy without resistance.

At that time, the Chinese government, which was victorious in every battle, did not take the Battle of Moscow too seriously.  But in Moscow, they encountered the most tenacious and crazy resistance.

After more than two months of siege, Moscow was still firmly in the hands of the Bolsheviks.

At the end of November 1940, the Chinese Ministry of National Defense ordered a temporary halt to the offensive, and all troops were prepared to welcome the cold winter.

Those veterans are well aware of the harsh climate in Russia.  People may not be killed on the battlefield, but the cruel winter in Russia is enough to make even the best soldier leave this world forever in his sleep.

The Chinese are preparing for the winter, and Moscow is also preparing for the winter

Although Moscow is still in the hands of the Bolsheviks, their situation with the Japanese is actually not easy.  The Chinese took advantage of their absolute superiority in aircraft and artillery fire to destroy the city to their heart's content.  The artillery fire almost completely reorganized Moscow, and every inch of land was bombed.

The casualties were very high, and all men, women, and children in Moscow were involved in the battle to defend this last "temple"

Although there may be no hope

¡°Moscow has lost all its foreign aid, and now the only one they can rely on is themselves

Winter is coming, and the Chinese have temporarily stopped attacking, but Moscow is still facing the same problem, how to survive the cruelest Russian winter

Moscow now lacks food, lacks winter supplies, lacks everything. However, you have to admit the Bolsheviks' propaganda and agitation to their own people. Even in such a bad situation, these Muscovites still did not give up hope. In fact, they even continued to  Not much complaints

"It doesn't matter." Although the first attack on Moscow did not achieve the expected victory, President Wang Hengyue of the Republic of China did not particularly care: "They can withstand the first round of attacks. When spring comes, they  I can't hold on no matter what"

Wang Hengyue firmly believes in his judgment.

Yes, the current Battle of Moscow is a war in two completely different senses from the other Battle of Moscow that Wang Hengyue knew.

Now Moscow has no retreat, no support, and no material supplies.  As each battle progresses, their strength will inevitably be reduced until they can no longer continue the war.

As for China, all they have to do is wait patiently for the arrival of spring, and then a battle that completely destroys Moscow will finally begin.

Wang Hengyue and Stalin, the leaders of the two regimes, although one is in Nanjing and the other is in Moscow, they are staring at each other, watching to finally achieve the victory they want to see.

Stalin also took advantage of the temporary cessation of the offensive to organize Moscow according to his own wishes. He hoped that a miracle could be created in his own hands.

On December 21, 1940, Stalin, who had taken a breather, broadcast the long-awaited message to the people on the radio!

"Comrades, citizens! Brothers and sisters! Our soldiers of the army and navy! My friends, I appeal to you," he began.  Appearing together with the revolutionary title "comrade" is the Christian "brothers and sisters" brothers and sisters" ordinary people should defend the mother country"

He declared: The Patriotic War - the people's sacred war against the aggressors is now underway.  Just like Tsar Alexander I who opposed the invasion of Napoleon.

Of course, Stalin mentioned the party in his speech, calling on people to "unite around the party of Lenin and Stalin."  "Let's talk to Shaposh about the issue of defending Moscow." Stalin said after delivering his speech.

Shaposhnikov, a leader of the Soviet Red Army??Chief of Staff.

Stalin always addressed Shaposhnikov by his first and patronymic names with respect, and never raised his voice when talking to him. He was the only person Stalin allowed to smoke in his office.

Shaposhnikov was a former colonel in the Tsarist army and was openly religious.  Vasilevsky, another leader of the General Staff, was also the son-in-law of a priest.  They were extremely close to Stalin in the first days of the war.

It was from their mouths that Stalin learned something that shocked the entire Orthodox world.

Metropolitan Ilya of the Lebanese mountains locked himself in an underground stone chamber without eating or drinking. He knelt on the ground for a long time and prayed to the Virgin to bless Russia.

Then he saw a miracle.  He talked about this miracle in a letter sent to Russia to the leaders of the Russian Church: After he prayed for three days and nights, the Virgin appeared in a ball of fire and told him God's will: "Churches and monasteries across the country  We must all open up and release the priests from prison. Leningrad cannot give up. We must invite the statue of Our Lady of Chashan and carry it around the city, and then invite the statue to Moscow and hold a prayer ceremony there.  ¡¡±

Stalin believed it, even though he had previously announced that he would completely complete "atheism"!

But now, Stalin decided to fulfill the wishes of the god who appeared to Ilya.

With this group, he surprisingly and obediently returned to the arms of God.  A change of heart?  Is it great enlightenment?  Was it fear that drove him to God?  Is the Marxist god among men simply deciding to exploit people's belief in God?  Or were all of these factors present? In any case, on the surface he was reconciled to God.

So, according to his order, a large number of priests were released from the concentration camps

Stalin seemed to believe that God could help him win the war

For Stalin and all the Bolsheviks, Moscow is a city with a long history and a place that must not be abandoned. No matter how many people shed their blood to defend it, it is completely meaningful.

Moscow was the capital of Muscovy in the early 13th century.  In the 1a century, with Moscow as the center, the Russians gathered surrounding forces to fight against the rule of the Mongolian aristocracy, thereby unifying Russia and establishing a centralized feudal state.  In the mid-15th century, Moscow became the capital of the unified Russian state until the early 18th century.  Peter the Great moved the capital to St. Petersburg in 1712, but Moscow is still Russia's largest economic, political and cultural center and still plays the role of Russia's second capital.  In 1755, Russia's first university, Moscow University, was established.

After the French army led by Napoleon occupied Moscow in 1812, the city was destroyed by fire, but it was quickly rebuilt.  In 1813, the Moscow City Construction Committee was established and large-scale urban reconstruction began.  The railway was opened in 1851.

During the October Revolution of 1q17, Moscow also held an armed uprising following Petrograd and established the Soviet regime.  The Soviet government and the Communist Central Committee moved from Petrograd to Moscow in March 1918.

In December 1922, Moscow officially became the capital of the Soviet Union and the capital of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the world's first socialist country.

However, before the cheers of the Bolsheviks had passed, the Chinese appeared here.  They first launched a large-scale attack on Soviet Russia with the help of the European and American powers, completely killing the Bolsheviks' dream of unifying Russia.

Then after a long confrontation, the Chinese ** team launched a new attack

Although he issued an order to defend Moscow, Stalin's brows were still tightly knitted together. To be honest, he had no idea whether he could defend Moscow!

"Comrade Shaposhnikov." Stalin's expression was extremely serious, staring at his trusted Chief of General Staff: "You must tell me clearly, how sure are we of holding Moscow?"

"Comrade General Secretary." Shaposhnikov looked equally grim: "In the previous series of battles, we have defeated the enemy's attacks countless times and caused heavy casualties to the enemy. With the arrival of winter, the enemy has temporarily stopped.  Attack. The enemy is very difficult now, but our difficulties are even greater. The soldiers lack winter clothes, weapons and ammunition, and food. We lack everything in Moscow, and we must find a way to solve it."

Having said this, he paused and continued: "However, you can completely believe in our determination to fight to the end. As long as there is one Red Army soldier, the enemy will not be able to occupy Moscow. Even if the enemy enters this city, we will use  We will fight to the end with the firmest determination.¡±

"I believe it, Comrade Shaposhnikov." Stalin did not feel relieved by his subordinate's words. On the contrary, his worries became deeper: "The enemy is crazy. I hope we can carry out this war according to our wishes."  Go down, great Moscow must not fall into the hands of the enemy!"

Stalin was not sure that he could do this!  (To be continued
