    Chapter 76(2)

When Douding is more than eight months old, he can wave goodbye, imitate adults¡¯ faces, and pronounce words similar to his mother¡¯s.  When Chen Wan heard it for the first time and realized it was a vague word for mother, tears burst out of her eyes, scaring Dou Ding so much that she didn't dare to speak.  He had his first tooth, the incisor, which was crooked, but it didn't stop him from smiling or making noises with joy when he saw everything.

When he was downstairs, his favorite thing was other people's puppies. Every time he saw them, he would roar and wave his little fists, asking his aunt and uncle to hug him and chase them.  When Fang Cunzheng brought a little husky as a gift, he was even more excited. He sat in the cart and kicked up his calves to touch it.

Qin Hao was unhappy to the extreme, "If there are children at home, what kind of dog should we keep? How can he feel at ease? Just give him a toy. That husky has a pair of red eyes, like a wolf."

"It has been vaccinated against the epidemic. The husky is docile and has no temper with the family. He can play with it no matter what he wants. My uncle said that he should be kept for a few days and kept in the store to look after the store."

After carrying her uncle out, he did not dare to say anything as usual.

It¡¯s July, the heat wave is rolling in Jicheng, and the cicadas are chirping in the trees.

It started to rain in the middle of the month, bringing a little coolness.  It rained all night on the night of the 17th, and it started to rain again at noon on the 18th.  When my aunt and uncle came back from shopping, my aunt patted her shoulders and complained, "It's going to be so hot that it won't stop. The water in the river has risen."

At three or four o'clock, the meteorological station issued a yellow rainstorm warning, and the TV news broadcast said that it was a heavy rain that would occur once in fifty years.  The phone in the store rang one after another with people canceling reservations for the night. Aunt Chen Wan was helpless, "Now, we don't even have to do business anymore."

    "Stay guarding," said my uncle.

Chen Wan looked at the sky and said, "Uncle, why don't you send Auntie and Douding back first. I don't think there will be much business tonight, let alone people passing by. I'll do the calculations and wait until five or six o'clock to take a look.  In fact, if it doesn¡¯t stop raining, I¡¯ll just take it as a day off.¡±

After they left, she took the waiter to clean up the kitchen and cleaned the private room, but the rain became heavier and heavier.  It looked like she would only be able to do business for one day less. She stood in the patio, fed the fish and looked at the gray-black sky, letting the waiter go off work first.

When silence returned to the store, she closed the door and window of the private room and locked the dried abalone fins in the kitchen as usual.  Enjoying this rare quietness, she brewed a new pot of tea and planned to settle this month's accounts.  Fang sat down and saw a dark shadow flash in front of the door.

"You scared me to death!" she shouted to Qin Hao, who was half-wet.

"Why are you the only one? Where is the other person?" He couldn't hide the anxiety between his brows.

"My uncle and the others took Douding back first, and I'll settle the score." After the panic, she sat down again.

"What kind of account is it at this time? The river is full of water."

Chen Wan followed his gaze to the corner of the screen wall at the door, "It's coming here." She threw away the pen and paper in her hand and ran out in a panic.

"Where's your bag?" Qin Hao called from behind.

"At this time, take care of my bag and help me find something to block the water. It's almost overflowing."

Qin Hao strode past her and stood at the door facing the street in the rain. When he turned around, his face was extremely ugly, "Go back and get your bag."

Chen Wan wanted to see what was going on outside, but he yelled, "Do you hear me?"

As she spoke, the water had reached her feet. When she pursed her lips and went in to get the bag and close the kitchen door, he followed closely behind her, "I'm going to turn off the electric switch. Hurry up."

She was so frightened by his solemn tone that she didn't bother to ask him how he knew the location of the electric switch. She locked the door and pulled up the security net before walking to the door and was even more shocked.  The river water flooded in through the gaps in the stone wall next to the driveway. The entire Zhuque Street was soaked in water, and countless people ran past them.

It was raining heavily, and lightning occasionally flashed across the dark gray sky.

"The terrain of Zhuque Street is too low. Don't hold an umbrella. It's useless." He reached out and held her wet hand tightly. "My car is parked at the entrance of the alley. Go over and take a look. It's bad if it doesn't start."  ¡±

All the way down the street, the river water had reached my ankles, and when it reached the alley, it was up to my knees.  The two looked at the car in the water and looked at each other.  "Forget it, let's walk."

Chen Wan hummed and squeezed his hand.

    "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

"I'm not afraid, I just thought, it's good that my uncle took Douding back first. No, I want to ask Douding how he is and if he's back. If he catches another cold and fever" Chen Wan took out her mobile phone.  , I dialed several times and got busy signals, which made me even more anxious.

He squeezed his palms soothinglyTouching her slender fingers, she wiped the rain on her face with her other hand, "They are probably busy talking on the phone. We just go forward to Zhongshan Road. The terrain over there is high. We can fight again after we get there."

The road he had traveled on countless times had turned into a river, with only yellow muddy water as far as the eye could see.  The rain got heavier, and the water rose higher and became more turbulent. Several times, Chen Wan almost tripped over the debris under her feet. Every time he dragged her halfway, she looked up and looked into his dark eyes.  go.

"Thank you." Her voice disappeared quietly amid the thunder and rain.

It's not like Qin Hao said, the water will be smaller if you go forward. The water is already thigh deep, and there are torrents everywhere. The vehicle broke down and was picked up and floated by the current. Like them, they only know how many people are walking to higher places.  One was swept down by the rapids, and occasionally a garbage bin hit him, causing panic.

"Everyone held hands and walked forward in a group." The voice in her ears was deafening. Chen Wan raised her eyes and saw that it was her man who was shouting at the top of his voice, and veins popped out on his neck.

After he shouted, everyone spontaneously moved closer to the middle, holding hands, dragging their waists, and slowly gathered into a group.

One of them shouted in the rain, "It's almost enough to go to the square. There is a high platform for performances there."

Others responded in agreement. It was already seven o'clock in the evening, the sky was dark, and the surroundings were dark. When we reached the intersection, several torrents were impacting us even more fiercely.  They dragged their hands and blocked the middle, picking up a few people who rushed down.  There was a figure lying on his side floating in the distance. Chen Wan shivered from the cold and pressed against Qin Hao.  He held her waist tightly with his arms, as if he wanted to rub her into his body, "Don't look at that."

    She nodded vaguely.

When we arrived at the People¡¯s Square, we found that many people had gathered. They struggled to soak in the water for more than an hour and almost lost all strength.  When he lifted her up to the high platform, she saw that he didn't come up. She grabbed his sleeves and shouted in the rain with a hoarse voice: "Where are you? Hao, come up."

He saw himself in her frenzied eyes, and he eagerly held her face and kissed her until the rain stopped. "You stand inside, I will be next to you, and I will catch as many as I can. Be obedient, I will  I¡¯ll be back later.¡±

She looked at his back and said in a daze, "Remember to come back." She couldn't tell whether it was rain or tears on her face.

Crow Crow was crowded with people, but they could only hear the sound of rain and thunder. Everyone was silent in the shock, resisting with a kind of perseverance that resigned to fate.

Chen Wan stood where she was, staring at the direction Qin Hao left without blinking.  At first I saw his shadow pulling people to the high platform, but later I couldn't find him anymore.

When he reappeared in her eyes, she thought a lifetime had passed.  After probably soaking in the water for a few more hours, he collapsed at her feet.  Chen Wan knelt down and wiped his face with her hands in vain.  He raised his head and gave her the heartiest smile, "It seems like I saved quite a few, I forgot to count."

This moment, this moment, this moment She hugged him hard.

    "What are you laughing at?"

"Why are you giggling?" He held her tightly in his arms.

"I said, have we missed too much?"

    ""

"Hao, tell me, can we start over?"

"What do you think?" he asked cautiously.

She thought about it, then nodded solemnly.

He seemed to be choked, and after a while he asked again: "Can you really start over?"

    She nodded solemnly again.

"Really?" He held her face with both hands, as if he wanted to look into the depths of her heart.

"Just, let's just treat it like we just met today, and forget about the past." His hurt, his arrogance, and his distrust were diluted and washed away by the torrential rain in front of his meticulous love.  I thought that tears could not wash away the deeply buried grievances. When all the outpouring was gone, what finally flowed calmly was only time and his love.

"Really?" He locked her face tightly, not letting go of any changing emotions.  With tears in her eyes, she smiled and nodded.  As time goes by, the sharp and shrewd woman in my memory fades away, her smile is calm and peaceful.

    "When we first met."

He slowly raised the corners of his mouth, smiling like he did when we first met in Zhuque Lane many years ago, "Then let me introduce myself. My surname is Qin, with the single character Hao. Girl, what's your name?"

"I won't wait for you to do this! You will be a scoundrel again!"

"Okay, come again. My surname is Qin, with the single character Hao. What about you? What's your name?"

"My name is Chen Wan. Why are you giggling?"

"No." His chest shook, and he held her for a while before stopping his hoarse voice and saying, "Cat, have I ever told you that I love you?"

She trembled in his arms, suppressed her sobs and shook her head, "No."

"It's not too late, isn't it?"

"It's never too late, it's never too late." She cried quietly, "Although I've been waiting for a long time."

The rain has stopped, and the stars and moon have disappeared.
