    Songshan Shaolin Temple was founded in the 19th year of Taihe in the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 495). It is located at the southern foot of Zhongyue Songshan Mountain, 13 kilometers northwest of Dengfeng, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province.
