"Caitlin?" Du Ze used words to test the suspicious maid.

"Yes, sir, what is your order?"

There was nothing suspicious in the maid's attitude.  Except for her somewhat overly natural look, she disguised herself very well, looking and acting like an ordinary maid.  However, when she answered, Du Ze was already sure that she was definitely not a real maid - there was indeed a maid named Caitlin in the castle, but that maid died four years ago. Here  There was no second maid named Caitlin.  The real maid must know that Caitlin is a dead name.

¡°I want to use jam to go with my bread. Help me look in that backpack, I remember there is another bottle there.¡± Du Ze put down the knife and made an excuse to keep the stranger disguised as a maid away from him.  Once she leaves Du Ze's side, Du Ze will put two dark warriors between her and himself and launch an attack.

"I'm sorry, sir" As if she didn't hear clearly, the maid not only did not go in the direction Du Ze pointed out, but also took a step closer.  "what did you say?"

With the cover of the voice, she quickly pulled out a long pointed dagger from under her apron and stabbed Du Ze in the chest.  Already aware that she was under suspicion, she decided to strike preemptively.  The surprise attack would have been enough to easily dispatch an unsuspecting magician.  Before she pulled out the dagger, she still had that humility on her face, showing no signs of an imminent attack.

    Fortunately, Du Ze was prepared.

He suddenly jumped up in the opposite direction, overturning his chair, and dodged the blow with a large margin.  The two dark warriors in the room also rushed towards the assassin disguised as a maid.

The assassin lost his best chance to kill.  Du Ze did not eat the breakfast she served and was alert before she launched her attack.  Seeing Du Ze quickly retreating out of the reach of the dagger, and two dark warriors approaching him from behind, the assassin let out an angry shout.  "Go to hell!" She didn't look like a humble maid now, but more like a desperate beast.  "You can't hide from us forever! Anyone who fights the Faceless Men must die!"

Completely ignoring the weapon that was slashing at him from behind, the assassin briefly read a few syllables and threw the dagger at Du Ze with all his strength - and then she exploded.  As if some force was tearing her body apart from the inside, the assassin turned into a blood-red mass amid the loud noise.  Her flesh, bones, and internal organs were torn into pieces by this force and sprayed out in all directions. Each fragment carried no less power than a crossbow arrow fired from a heavy crossbow.  Broken bones and flesh struck the entire room like dense arrows, and the two dark warriors who bore the brunt directly suffered a large number of attacks.

The explosion ended the assassin's life in an instant.  She was completely torn apart by this force, leaving no pieces larger than her palms.  There were blood stains and broken bones and flesh everywhere on the floor, walls, and ceiling.  Her head was blown to pieces in the explosion, leaving only a handful of hair stained red by blood and scattered in all directions, which can be used as a trace to prove that she once existed.

Facing the sudden attack, Du Ze only had time to protect his face with his arms.  The dagger thrown by the assassin before the explosion stabbed his arm, and then the large number of scattered bone and flesh fragments also caused considerable damage to him.  A piece of broken bone flew past his forehead, leaving a trail of blood there and almost hitting his eye.

Dark Warrior No. 1 is relatively unlucky.  Its whole body was injured by those 'bone and flesh arrows', and was pushed to the ground by the impact, seriously injured.  Possibly because of being stimulated by the dangerous situation, Dark Warrior No. 3 took the initiative to use his special abilities at that moment. It was too late for the fully formed flesh-red carapace to withstand most of the damage, so that it only suffered minor injuries and no injuries.  Knocked to the ground like number one.

    "Damn Faceless Men"

Du Ze cursed in a low voice.  He carefully pulled out a larger bone fragment from his arm, and blood immediately poured out from the wound, making the painful feeling more clear.  "This is definitely not a coincidence," he muttered under his breath.  "What do they want to do?"

Today is the day when the banquet begins.  According to common sense, the Faceless Man must have known that Du Ze was going to follow this banquet and announce his identity as the legal lord to other people in the viscounty - what benefits would it bring to them to conduct an assassination on this day?  The powerful people in the viscounty may support an unpopular heir against their will because of bribes, threats or other reasons, but this does not mean that they will easily support the murder of the last legitimate heir and let one hide behind the scenes.  The mysterious organization holds the highest power and controls everything in the viscounty.

Wait, it¡¯s not the last one.

??And Edward.  Jiao En¡¯s two-year-old son.

Even though Du Ze has made it clear that Jiao En is not the orthodox heir, if he dies, Edward will naturally become the last orthodox heir of the Rosen family.  As long as this two-year-old boy becomes the nominal lord, the Faceless Men can actually control the viscounty to achieve their goals.

Maybe one of today¡¯s guests is an agent of the Faceless One.  As long as Du Ze, who already had a bad reputation, was suddenly assassinated, and several high-ranking and prominent people publicly came forward to express support, it would not be difficult for Edward to become a lord.

Edward¡¯s position in this conspiracy is very important, but he himself is unable to decide anything.  Neither he nor his mother has the ability to actively choose their own destiny and can only go with the flow.

The sound of the explosion attracted the attention of many people.  No one could ignore a loud bang like that.  Yulia rushed to Du Ze's room first before everyone else.  The strong smell of blood made her feel a little nauseous, and when she saw Du Ze with multiple injuries, a trace of moisture appeared in her eyes almost immediately.

Unexpectedly, the second person who arrived here was Udonlis, who rarely appeared during the day.  She carefully avoided the window to avoid being exposed to direct sunlight, and walked in slowly.

    "What a waste."

She sniffed, not showing any discomfort with the smell of blood that filled the room.  "I think it's because of those faceless men you mentioned, Duze Lawson." Although she smelled the wonderful 'that smell' again, the look in her eyes when she looked at Du Ze didn't have the same aversion to food as before.  The longing turned into a more subtle emotion, as if seeing one's beloved toy damaged.  "I can't wait to drain their blood"

"Yes, it's the Faceless One. This is the second time." Du Ze was busy cleaning the foreign matter in the wound.  "Can you help me take care of the wound, Udonliss?" He pulled out another bone fragment and grinned in pain.  "As long as it stops the bleeding."

    "certainly."

In the blink of an eye, Udonlis had already advanced to Du Ze.  Due to the height difference, she could lower her head and look down at Du Ze, which gave him a considerable sense of oppression.  There was a hint of anticipation in her expression.  She pressed Du Ze's shoulders with her hands and gently licked the wound on his forehead, secreting saliva that could relieve pain and stop bleeding. She took this opportunity to roll the blood from the wound back into her mouth with her tongue.  Because the faces of both sides were too close, Du Ze instinctively wanted to distance himself, but was suppressed by Udonlis's hand and was unable to retreat.

After taking care of the wound on his forehead, the vampire began to lick Du Ze's cheek, where there was also a wound scratched by bone fragments.  Her cold and slippery tongue did not hurt Du Ze, but the posture of both parties at this moment made Du Ze feel a little uncomfortable - it was almost like Udonliss was kissing his cheek - combined with the height difference  , this feeling of discomfort is particularly obvious.

"Thank you for your help, Udonliss." Du Ze deliberately shifted his gaze and looked at the wall in the distance instead of the vampire close to his face.

    "Happy to oblige."

Udonlisi¡¯s tongue finally circled Du Ze¡¯s face, finishing the treatment of the wound.  "This smells weird." She obviously didn't think there was anything wrong with the posture just now.  "It's like a slave who was resentful of his master added seawater and spices used to freshen the air to his master's wine." She used her tongue to clean up the little bit of blood remaining in her mouth, and swallowed it without any trace of blood.  waste.  "It has a different flavor. But I still like it pure."

The assassin¡¯s blood splashed everywhere with those ¡®flesh and blood arrows¡¯.  Du Ze's wounds were also stained with some.

"Have you ever seen the sea?" Du Ze immediately found an irrelevant topic to cover up his embarrassment.  Born in a mountainous principality far away from the coastline, he had never seen the real sea with his own eyes. He only learned about the boundless waters in books and various records.

Udonlis closed her eyes and thought carefully before speaking again.  "In the past few days, I vaguely remembered some things from the past. It was very far awayvery vague" She spoke very slowly.  "I should have seen the seamore than once."

"The sea at least four hundred years ago. Have you ever been a traveler?" Du Ze pulled out another bone fragment stuck in his arm.  Distracting attention through conversation can effectively reduce the negative impact of pain.

"It's not for traveling. Many people chased mewanted to burn me to deathput me under the scorching sunforfor" Thinking of some unpleasant memories, Udonlis opened her eyes,  The topic ended abruptly.  "I can't remember."

"Very goodSorry for bringing this up.  "

Du Ze discovered from her expression that Udonliss didn¡¯t really not remember anything.  Not wanting to touch the haze in the vampire's heart, he cooperated and changed the subject.  "It seems I have to take care of the wound quickly." He pointed to the servants standing at the door who were full of confusion and did not dare to enter easily because of the terrible scene in the room.  "There are still guests waiting outside."
