Part 2 The Blue Storm The Tenth Sulla The Return

Previous page        Return to Catalog        Next page

Taking the magic ship back to Atas from the world of Namib generally takes half a year according to the Atas calendar.  If you encounter any remaining Githyanki pirates along the way, it will take even longer.  Or shorter - if you believe what some preachers say, the souls of the dead return directly to Attas.

If you have too much money and no better use, you can also directly hire a particularly fast magic ship and go directly to Atas from the nearest channel in the star realm.  It will take you up to two months to do this, but there are not always ships available for hire.  Some magic ships are in disrepair, are dilapidated, smell like sheepfolds, and creak when flying. They are really unfit for such a long journey.

Some of the ships are in worse condition, refurbished from previously destroyed Githyanki warships, like the one before the Psion.  This kind of boat can only travel short distances at most. To go to Atas, you have to change boats at least three times.  To make matters worse, the ships smell like blood and corpses, as well as boils, as if the ghosts of the Githyanki who died in battle are still attached to them.  By comparison, the sheepfold smells almost like perfume.

Two ferocious-looking and rude sailors were leaning on the side of the ship, communicating in Athas dialect with a strong accent.  One of them is a dark-skinned native of Namib, and the other is actually a Githyanki.  The two guys didn't seem to expect that Mohadi could clearly hear the distant voices and talk wildly.

¡°Look, another Material Plane guy is taking the bait,¡± the Githyanki said.  "It fully illustrates the insurmountable innate defects of human beings in the field of intelligence."

The dark-skinned Namibian sailor is also a human, but he didn¡¯t like what his fellow Githyanki said.  "I see that he has a shrewd and gloomy look. He doesn't look like he's here to be taken advantage of, but more like he's here to meet your mother. I hope your mother's body can still hold on."

"You have a mental disability, but your tongue is quite flexible."

The dark-skinned sailor retorted.  "Of course, your woman has to rely on my tongue to have the courage to live."

"And your woman must be blind in order to continue to live, otherwise no one can tolerate your stupid smiling face for a long time."

Muhadi frowned and was about to suggest trying another boat to try his luck.  At this time, the captain of the smelly ship in front of him suddenly pushed away the two sailors and ran down the gangway.  This is a man wearing a big, stylish hat and a carefully groomed mustache.  There was also a feather stuck in the brim of his hat, and he had obviously noticed the potential guest.

The psychic is responsible for talking to them. This is a strategy agreed upon by him and Satiri in advance.  The latter disguised herself as a noblewoman traveling to Athas, making it inconvenient to bargain directly with merchants and the like.  And Muhadi pretended to be her butler.  The female mage seemed to like this arrangement very much. She smiled and said that she had never thought that a psion could be quite decent when pretending to be a servant.

As for the false prophet Danjar¡¯s accusation that he is the incarnation of the Prime Warlock, the Coral Witch did not mention it, as if waiting for the Psion to take the initiative to speak.  Mohadi hadn't figured out how to explain it yet, so he had to pretend to be dumbfounded for the time being.  Wait for the right moment.

"Want to rent a boat, sir!" the captain said in a loud voice while touching his belly.  "Simon Havarian and his Savage Grassland Growler are waiting to serve you!"

"This ship goes to Atas?" Mohadi asked him, his words had a strong Atas accent.

"This magic ship goes wherever anyone who can afford to rent it wants to go!" The captain recognized the psion's accent and immediately imitated his Athasian standard.  He looked like a native of the astral world, but Atas spoke extremely fluently.  "My lord, you will not find a faster ship in Namib. As long as you ask, we will take you to Atas as quickly as possible."

He agreed too quickly, Muhadi thought.  This was unusual; usually captains would look very unhappy.  Easy to raise prices.  Occasionally, a captain who agrees without even paying the price is probably a pirate who plans to kill and steal the goods after the passengers board the ship.

It was the idea given to him by Faruk Pasha and Musa Emir to charter a ship back to Atas. Pasha himself had two ships in his name, but everyone knew that.  Mohadi felt that Danjar would not miss the opportunity to come back and ambush the two ships.  Renting a boat is undoubtedly much more low-key. Countless magic boats carry pilgrims to Atas every month. No one can guess which boat Muhadi and his companions will be hiding on.

After Muhadi left Namibia, Farouk Pasha would publicly announce the Second Coming of the Prophet and spread it widely.  about this point.  The Psion himself was extremely disgusted, neither considering himself a true prophet nor making any fanfare about his return.  The contradiction between the Fatimid and Karamit sects among believers hasIt's on the verge of breaking out, and his return may immediately break this fragile balance.

Mohadi once believed.  As long as they show up, the vast majority of believers will agree to reconciliation.  But after actually facing Danjar, a senior figure in the Karamit sect, this confidence has been shaken.  Danjar claimed to be the real Mohadi, the real prophet The psychic did not want to think deeply about it, but he also admitted that the other party's statement was extremely tempting.  If he spreads rumors that his body was taken away by Taichu Warlock

But Farouk Pasha of Namibia changed his mind after pleading with the psion, and severely damaged the fleet of the enemy Prophet Danjar.  If there is no legitimate reason, then Namibia will be regarded by all believers as a rogue world who is the first to destroy the balance of the world.  By then, the people here will not only be unanimously condemned by other worlds, but they will also be isolated and helpless in the ensuing wars.  However, the psychic insisted on officially announcing his news only after he left.

"And how much should I pay for this service?" the psion asked the captain of the magical ship.

"For a thousand Tyr gold coins, my ship and I will serve you! Food is free along the way, and we can also provide you with a variety of entertainment projects You will be satisfied." The captain licked his lips, looking attentive.  look.  "You can ask around to see if this Savage Prairie Growler is reputable!"

He expected that I would not seriously ask, Muhadi thought, so he dared to say so.  But when he met me, he made a mistake.

The Psion displays a simple power that detects whether the captain is benevolent.  Sure enough, the feedback results clearly showed that the captain was hiding something.  Mohadi speculated that the man either planned to slit the passengers' throats as soon as they took off and keep the gold for himself.  Or they plan to chain the passengers and use them as slave labor on the ship.

    ¡°Sounds good,¡± Muhadi said.  "But I refuse."

"That's really your loss!" the captain said exaggeratedly. "Nothing hurts me more than losing a potential guest. Can we really not discuss it anymore? Or eight hundred Tyr gold coins, or  I also accept fifty cut garnets. What? No way? Then five hundred gold coins, plus my own performance of throwing knife juggling, will it work?"

"No," said the Psion.  "I'd better try my luck somewhere else."

¡°You won¡¯t find a better captain here than Simon Havarian!¡± insists the moustachioed skipper.  "To tell you the truth, the cursed big man recognized meteors from the sky and destroyed most of our ships. The rest were either small and slow, or had no intention of going to Atas  For example, that cheap, high-quality and large-sized ship over there will not go to Atas. Its captain is a fat man who is naturally afraid of heat. He sold his mother for a ray of cool breeze. Let him  Going to a desert planet like Atas is almost like killing him."

"Perhaps I will go see the fat captain and test for myself whether he would rather lose his life than go to Atas." After Muhadi said this, he left.

"You will come back, I promise, the previous bid will still be valid!" Captain Mustache's voice came from behind the psychic.

Muhadi walked towards the berths of other magic ships, passing groups of hawkers and middle-aged women who wanted to recommend accommodation to him.  The dock where magic ships come and go looks similar to an ordinary fishing port, but these magic ships do not stop in the water, but in dry docks.  If it stays in the water, sea parasites will corrode the hull.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? As the mustache captain had predicted, none of the other magic ships seemed willing to go to Atas.  Some thought the journey was too long, while others hoped to wait a little longer and catch a whole boatload of pilgrims, that way they could make more money.  Some captains are worried that the sectarian dispute will soon evolve into a full-scale war, and Athas will become a battlefield by then, so they would rather go to a safer border world.

The fat captain listened quietly to Mohadi's request, holding an indifferent pet cat in his arms. Then, he shook his head and said, "No." Captain Ma Gan, who was close to the Unfilial, refused, claiming that no matter how much he wanted,  He won't go to Atas for gold either.  The captain of the Merchant's Daughter is a Lathander believer from the world of Faer?n. He believes that pagans like him will be torn to pieces by fanatics as soon as they set foot on the land of "Holy Star" Athas.  Friends The first mate of the Bear says the Psion is wasting his time, and the captain of the Spoon thinks he's a pirate stooge.

In the end, there was really no point, and Muhadi even ran back to discuss it with the Coral Witch.  See if she can figure out a way to teleport directly back to Atas across dimensions, or if she knows of any secret portal in Sigil that can lead directly to Atas.

The answer is still no. Satiri is not particularly familiar with Sigil.Plane teleportation spells cannot accurately locate such a distant world.

"Perhaps we can only take the magic ship of Captain Simon Havarian. People can't be too picky when they have no choice, right?" Coral Witch said.

"Even if we know that this guy may be up to no good?"

"We can capture this ship if necessary. A pirate captain and his sailors are not difficult to subdue."

Mohadi thought for a while, "Then who will drive the ship? I can't drive a magic ship, and I don't know how to find the route to Atas in the star realm."

"Perhaps we can use magic or psychic powers to control a few sailors, so that we won't be trapped in the star realm."

"I'm also worried that you may not be able to accept using coercive methods to directly control others. If that's the case, let's do this." The psychic finally decided.  "I hope Captain Simon is lucky enough and doesn't need us to take action." (To be continued.)
