Chapter 202: The Gift of the Mohist

Previous page        Return to Catalog        Next page

This is the real Mohist, a group of people who don't care about their own lives for their own beliefs!

Li Yi stood up, saluted and said: "Senior, please rest assured, I will definitely live up to the trust of my seniors, and I will definitely live up to the name of impermanence!"

"Okay, okaycough" Wang Mazi wanted to shout loudly, but the wound was affected when he breathed, but Wang Mazi's face showed a different kind of ruddy color than before.

This is a flashback Li Yi knew that Wang Mazi had something to explain, so he endured the grief in his heart and listened quietly to Wang Mazi's instructions.

"As mentioned before, you give this Juzi Ling to Mo Pingsheng Juzi." Wang Mazi took out the Juzi Ling from his arms and handed it to Li Yidao.

Li Yi nodded, took the order, and hid it solemnly in his arms.

"This ribbon is named Zhi Ge Ling. It is the one that my Mohist ancestor, Mozi, used to defeat the Zulu Ban of the carpenters. It is a token of the master of my Mo sect" Wang Mazi took out another one about two inches square from his arms.  The three-foot-long crimson jade belt said:

"I have an eldest disciple, Zhou Buji, who is talented, intelligent and well-behaved. He can take over the position of the leader of our Mohist sect. When you meet Buji in the future, teach him this Zhi Ge Ling on my behalf and advise him to deal with troubles in daily life.  I think a lot and hope that he can carry forward my art of calligraphy In the future, when you travel around the world, if you meet someone who knows my art of calligraphy, if you can help me, please help me. I'll wait.  There may be people who are heirs to martial arts and have eccentric temperaments, but most of them don't participate in the fighting in the world, so they are not bad in nature."

It is said that during the Spring and Autumn Period, the King of Chu wanted to attack the Song Dynasty and asked the famous craftsman Lu Ban to build ladders and other siege equipment. Seeing that the Song Dynasty was in danger, Mozi led his disciple Qin Huali and other 300 people to help the Song Dynasty defend the city. Mozi rushed to the Chu Kingdom alone.  In the capital city of Ying, after defeating Lu Ban's various siege engines with a three-foot belt and some splinters of wood, he persuaded the King of Chu to give up attacking Song with his eloquence.  The Mohist idea of ??"non-offensive" is vividly carried forward.

People in the world call Mozi's trip "to stop the war with force", which is why the name Lai Zhi Ge Ling came from.

Li Yi nodded and took the Zhi Ge Ling and put it away solemnly again: This Zhi Ge Ling is Mozi¡¯s three-foot belt, right?  I have two more spiritual treasures on my body Of course, these two items are only for temporary storage.

As for the successor of Ji Mo, he must be taken care of as long as he can. He has a weird temper?  Well, anyone who has some ability in scientific research is basically weird. People who promote the development of social science and technology are people with weird tempers. Li Yi is not surprised.

Seeing Li Yi agreeing to his requests one by one, Wang Mazi felt happy. Li Yi has Xuanhuang blood and is a man of great luck. He is destined to achieve extraordinary things in the future. If Li Yi can take care of Ji Momen for the sake of Wuchang Sword,  At some point, maybe the Ji Mo Sect can really be revived.

¡° Anyway, it¡¯s much better than half-dead in my own hands now.

After Wang Mazi explained these things, his eyes quickly dimmed, and the flush on his face slowly faded away. Wang Mazi had actually reached the last moment of his life, and he was afraid that the black and white impermanence from the underworld was already waiting for him.  Come on!

"I, the Mohist, insist on a clean burial, so you don't have to worry too much about my aftermath." Wang Mazi's words became a little intermittent: "After I die, you will throw my body into the underground smelting field.  Inside the furnace, I pushed down the blacksmith shop and covered it I have been forging iron all my life I think I deserved to die!"

    ¡¡¡¡¡¡

Situ Feng was just injured over there, so how could he not hear the conversation between Wang Mazi and Li Yi?  Today, Wang Mazi destroyed his Dragon-Slaying Sword with a thunderbolt, destroying his decades of cultivation, which finally made his dream of integrating the Mohist family and reviving the Mohist family come to nothing. He should have hated Wang Mazi to the bone

But seeing that Wang Mazi was about to die, and thinking about what Wang Mazi had just said, "The Mo family can no longer withstand the torment," Situ Feng's anger suddenly turned into a long sigh in the sky: The people of the Mo family,  Now if one dies, one will be missing!

How come the Mohists, who were prominent scholars in the pre-Qin period, fell into such a state?  Is it really so hard to recover that it can never be revived?

Wang Mazi has his proud disciple Zhou Bujie to inherit the mantle, but what about his own disciples?  I'm afraid, as Wang Mazi said, once he dies, those disciples will fight for the position of the leader of the Mohist Xia Mo clan. What will happen to the Xia Mo sect then?

¡°What Wang Mazi wanted to save just now was not me, the Mohist, but the sect of Chivalrous Mohists!

Situ Feng stood up with great effort, dragging his straw sandals tremblingly, and came to Wang Mazi. Situ Feng stood up straight, intertwined his fingers, and clasped his hands in a circle.

Wang Mazi's expression perked up when he saw this, and he motioned to Li Yi to help him get up.  Wang Mazi is also like Situ Feng,Stand up straight, interlock your fingers, and hold your hands in a circle with your shoulders level.

This is the etiquette for Mohists when they meet: standing up straight represents the Mohist¡¯s standing upright; intersecting fingers represents the Mohist¡¯s ten concepts such as ¡°universal love¡± and ¡°non-aggression¡±; and holding hands at shoulder level to form a circle represents the Mohist¡¯s ideal of world unity.  .

A Mohist who stands upright must use his ten major ideas to realize his ideal of world harmony.  Once upon a time, there were so many people who performed this ritual on the land of China and Middle-earth. Later, there were fewer and fewer people, and then, they were basically extinct

But people¡¯s postures became lower and lower, first lowering their heads, then bending down, and finally even kneeling on their knees, calling themselves slaves

The wound on Wang Mazi¡¯s chest was still flowing with blood, his clothes had already been dyed red, and the place where he stood was also bright red

The two of them looked at each other in silence. After the salute was completed, Situ Feng continued to drag his feet in straw sandals and walked tremblingly towards the distance

After watching Situ Feng's figure gradually disappear, Wang Mazi could no longer hold on and sat down on the ground in a pool of blood.

Wang Mazi looked at the Impermanence Sword still inserted in his heart, with the last glimmer of light flashing in his eyes, and murmured: "Impermanence, Impermanence, it's time for us to say goodbye"

After saying that, Wang Mazi used his last strength and shouted loudly. The Impermanence Sword flew out of Wang Mazi's chest. After whimpering and flying around Wang Mazi's body three times, it turned into a long dragon roar.  Xiao, inserted straight into the scabbard of Li Yi's body.

Wang Mazi looked at the Impermanent Sword flying around with a slight smile on his face, and groaned in a low voice:

"Ashes return to dust, dust returns to earth, life will eventually die, spirits will eventually perish, and all things will eventually perish. The situation in this life is nothing more than a handful of loess and a handful of clean ashes"

Finally, there was slowly no sound

I can only write these two thousand words today. I¡¯m really sorry fellow Taoists. I¡¯ll make up for it tomorrow!

    (Excerpted from Baidu)

Mohism is a philosophical sect in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty in China. It is one of the hundreds of schools of thought. Together with Confucianism represented by Confucius and Taoism represented by Laozi, it constitutes the three major philosophical systems in ancient China. Han Feizi, the representative of Legalism, said that together with Confucianism, it is "the best of the world".  "Xianxue", and Mencius, the representative of Confucianism, once said, "The world's words belong not to Yang (Yang Zhu, a representative figure of Taoism) but to Mohism (Mozi)", etc., which proves the glory of Mohist thought in China.  Yang and Mo are two sides of the coin, so Yang and Mo complement each other. However, throughout the ages, people have used Mencius' general thinking of "distance from Yang and Mo" to evaluate Yang and Mo. This is unfair.  [1]

The Mohist School originated during the Warring States Period.  The founder is Mo Zhai (Mozi).  Mohism is a highly disciplined academic group, and its leader is called "Big Man". Its members must implement Mohist ideas when serving as officials in various countries, and their salary must also be donated to the group.  The Mohist school can be divided into earlier and later periods: in the early period, its thoughts mainly dealt with social politics, ethics and epistemology issues, and focused on wars in the modern world; in the later period, Mohists made important contributions in logic and began to move closer to the field of scientific research.

The main ideological propositions of Mohism are: equal love between people (universal love), opposition to aggressive wars (non-offensive), advocating thrift and opposing extravagance and waste (frugal use), and attaching importance to inheriting the cultural wealth of predecessors (minggui)  , grasp the laws of nature (the will of heaven), etc.

Because of the unique political attributes of Mohist thought and the official-school collusion policy of Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty of "deposing hundreds of schools of thought and respecting Confucianism alone", Mohist thought was constantly suppressed and gradually lost its practical basis. Mohist thought gradually became extinct in China until  At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, scholars rediscovered Mohism from the pile of old papers and discovered its progressive nature.  In recent years, through the efforts of some new Mohists, some beneficial viewpoints in Mohist theory have begun to enter people's field of vision.

Most of the Mohists came from the lower class of society, with the purpose of education to "bring benefit to the world and eliminate harm to the world". "Confucius' mat is not warm, and ink is not Guizhou". They pay special attention to hard practice. "Short brown clothes are like quinoa soup."  "If you get it in the morning, you won't get it in the evening." "Move your head and lower your heels to benefit the world and do it" ("Mencius: Go to the Heart").  "Wear brown fur as clothing, wear straw sandals as clothing, work day and night, taking self-suffering as the ultimate extreme", leading a miserable life.  Mohists can "go through thick and thin and never turn back", which means that they will never turn back until they die.  Among Mohists, those who engage in debate are called "Mobian"; those who engage in martial arts are called "Moxia".  Mohists must obey the leadership of the great master, and his discipline is strict. It is said that "the Mohist's law is to kill those who kill and punish those who injure others" ("Lu's Spring and Autumn Annals").  For example, the son of Juzi Feizhuo killed someone. Although he was forgiven by King Hui of Qin, he still insisted on the "Mozhi's law" of "the murderer must die".

According to Mohist rules, Mohists who are sent to serve as officials in various countries must implement Mohist political ideas; they would rather resign if this does not work.  In addition, Mohists who serve as officials must donate their salary to the organization.Come to "wealth is shared".  Leaders should lead by example.

The Mohists were a school of thought with leaders, theories, and organization. They had a strong spirit of social practice.  Mohists are hard-working and self-disciplined, and regard upholding justice and morality as their unshirkable responsibility.  Most of the Mohists are knowledgeable workers.
