    Author/Zhang Yang

It¡¯s late at night, people are already sleeping, swallows and birds are singing, and the pearl is standing in the wind by pushing the window

"Mingzhu, do you like him?" Mingzhu asked herself.

"Of course you like him, because you have never been so moved!" Another voice said.

"Do I love him? Does liking him mean I'm in love with him?"

"That's right! Think about who you miss the most? Who do you like the most? Who did your heart beat for?" said another voice.  That night she held his letter close to her chest.  Every time she opened or closed her eyes, he could only see the shadow of Hei Zai. That night, she tossed and turned all night long.

It started to rain the next morning.  In the afternoon, the low and gloomy rain clouds seemed to be swept away by the spring breeze. The remaining branches and leaves passing by also showed the color of life after the baptism of the spring rain, swaying with the wind.  Toward the evening, God seemed to be beautifying the sky. A beautiful glow appeared on the horizon. The clouds sometimes looked like thousands of troops galloping on the battlefield, sometimes like wildly blooming rose petals, colorful.

This night, the moon also quietly hid in the thick clouds.  When Mingzhu arrived at the ferry, Hei Zai was already waiting there in high spirits.  Mingzhu did not go directly to him, but stood in a corner not far away and looked at him.  Under the illumination of the street lamp, she saw that his eyes were somewhat melancholy.

The sound of a tractor "Boom! Boom!" was heard in the distance, followed by the clicking of slippers and laughter of the group of people walking on the stone slabs.  When he saw someone approaching Mingzhu, Hei Zai quickly walked over and hugged her shoulders, hugging her into his arms as if he was afraid that she would be attacked, blocking those people's sight.  After watching the group of people leave, they sat down on the stone steps nearby.  Mingzhu handed him the self-portrait and photos.

    "Thank you Pearl!"

Hei Zai laughed heartily after seeing Mingzhu¡¯s photo and self-portrait.

"What are you laughing at?" She felt a little uncomfortable because of his laughter.

"You look like an ugly duckling in the photo, but you are a beauty in the painting. I never thought you were really good at beautifying yourself! Haha"

"When was this photo taken? It doesn't look like you at all, but it's still beautiful in person!" He finally stopped laughing and said to her seriously.

¡°Although peonies are beautiful, they still need green leaves to accompany them; even though lotus leaves are green, they still need lotus flowers to embellish them!¡± She murmured.

"Haha, although hundreds of flowers are beautiful, nothing is as beautiful as the green heart of the lotus. Flowers bloom and fall sometimes. Only the beauty of the pearl touches my heart. Don't be angry!"

Hei Zai took out the earphones from his pocket and played a piece of music: "Mingzhu, this song is very good, you should also enjoy it!" Before Mingzhu could react, Hei Zai put the earphones into her ears:

    Where is my sweetheart?

Why can¡¯t I find you anywhere?

    When you leave

I will be sad and cry

    Waiting madly

    Don¡¯t leave without looking back

The song was sad and disturbing, and Hei Zai seemed to have unspeakable thoughts. He quietly shared the music with Mingzhu without saying a word. On a starless night, he was still accompanied by seabirds and waves. Occasionally, there was a sound in the fields beside the road.  Two frogs croaked, adding to the silence around him, and she snuggled up to him quietly.

I don¡¯t know when the moon quietly poked its head out, as if silently blessing the young couple.
